2. Store draws me in as its really bright and clean and
has a open entry and walkway
Sign at the front looks elegant and cool
I'm immediately getting the feeling that this store
had good quality
Floor is tiled white and is really clean
It was a little noisy as it was around lunch time and
there was a cafe in the store
Seems like a nice vibe actually, may want to have
lunch there
The age of the employees are mostly around 30–40
I would assume
Seems to be targeting that generation of customers
Saw a really awesome carved pumpkin smiling
There was lots of chocolates and treats at the
checkout counter
3. This is another store I visited:
It had another level completely for the items on sale
It was down the strairs and was really different
compared to the upstairs store
Alot of stuff in the sale level cramped and crowded
While upstairs was a bit more quiet and less
cramped
The exit was obstructed slightly by the displays,
maybe encouraging the customers to spend more
time in the store
The store was bright and really colourful although it
did feel very cramped therefore I felt the need to
leave, Omg!
4. This was a book shop that I entered
Seemed inviting, there was people there but it
didn’t seem busy
There were a lot of book displayed in weird and
crazy ways, its what drew me in
Customers seemed to be there by themselves or
with a friend or child
The store was also attached to a little coffee shop
and customers could get a cup of coffee and choose
a book or magazine and sit down
This was really cool!! Customers seemed really
happy to do that and therefore spent more time
there, at least 30 mins for me and even more for
others
A many of the customers made a purchase of some
sort, be it coffee a book or one of the other items
like a birthday card or something else
5. This was another book store I entered
It was less personal than the previous
No crazy displays, all the books were lined up in
shelves
The store was bright and colourful and Halloween
displays
There was much focus on children in their displays
but had few kids books, there were more cooking
books and magazines
Maybe the target was people with children, the
children would be drawn in and the parents stay
and maybe find an interesting book they like
The first shelf at the store were their best sellers
thereafter the shelves were arranged by function,
like politics or sport etc
I some how found the previous book store better as
it was more personal and inviting
6. Then I went to a clothing store
The items on sale were most of the time at the back
of the store
The store was really bright and had clean floors that
were enhancing the lights so it looked very cool
The items in the store were arranged by function
like men's casual, smart and sporty
The male mannequins are silly looking lol
Was greeted by a sales person, they have a formal
uniform
It does suit the store, its a big chain store that sell
cosmetics as well
Just realised that most stores that sell cosmetics
have the sales people wearing formal wear
I guess people would be reluctant to purchase skin
care from some1 that looks more casual, I think its
used to emphasise the science behind their skincare
7. This is the cafeteria at the University of Cape Town’s
Medical School campus
Lol I thought I might give it a try
Ok so its bright, has an awesome smell around it
every time I walk pass
Either smells of awesome coffee in the morning or
of something delicious around lunch time
It is really busy and noisy during some times of the
day
And it caters for the Muslim community here on
campus as well
The cashiers are a bit touchy at times
The doors to the cafeteria are electronic still it is
inviting especially when the hunger craving kick in
