Understand That Natural / Green Dyes Are “Renewable” In
Nature.
• The Same Colour One Could Use For Fabric Coloration As Well
As When You Dry & Prepare Its Powdered Form One Could Use
It As A Food Colour Or May Be as Hair Colours.
8. Ingredients Required
• Any Light-coloured Fabric (Preferably Cotton)
• Threads /Rubber Band to Tie And Then Later Dye
• Any Heavy Base 2 Vessels
• Burner
• Hot Boiling Water
• Vinegar / Salt (For Colour Fixation)
• Beet Root/ Turmeric / Onion Skin / Coffee / Strawberries/ Rose/Red
Cabbage/Carrot
• Cold Water
• Rubber Gloves
• Knife
• Strainer
9. Step Wise Dyeing Explained Pictorially
• Step 1: rinse the fabric in cold water to take off the starch &
later dip it into 3 parts of water and 1 part of white vinegar in a
bucket for half an hour. Dry it & iron the same to prepare it for
dyeing.

10. Step 2: Peel, Cut Into Big Slices & Shred The
Veggies Chosen Accordingly.
Fig 2: for instance if chosen turmeric, it has to be
peeled & shredded.
11. Step 3: Take Vessels As Per The Number Of Colours
Chosen & Start Boiling Water, Once The Water Is Half
Boiled Add The Natural Material & Let It Boil For The
Next 15 Min.
12. Step 4-once The Colorant Is Ready, Keep Your
Sample Ready With Any Special Technique & Dip It
Into The Vessel For The Next 20 Mins.
13. Step 5: Once The Fabric Is Coloured If Tied,
Open The Knots, Rinse With Cold Water N Let
It Dry In Shade.
