1. Question 3... What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
2. Independent UK Film Distrubutors: AFTER DARK ORIGINALS G2 PICTURES The simplicity in G2 pictures’ logo is memorable; its bold, blue font stands out, and the format of its ident is recognisable for new viewers if they were to see production under G2. LNR’s logo has used simple font too, in order for it to be easily read and identified by its watchers. After Dark Originals’ logo has quite a dark colour scheme, with shades of black and grey and the fading out red in its font, all the colours connote mystery, pessimism and a sense of fear. In contrast the effect of the white symbolises innocence and purity which could portray the narratives in the films that the company distribute/are associated with. This can be parallel to LNR’s logo, as we too use a dark colour scheme, but use a tear drop in a symbolic effect of what our projects represent.
3. G2 PICTURESbackdrop G2 pictures is an Independent distributor in the UK, which was established in 2008. They focus on genres predominately in Action and Thriller which compatibly fit into LNR’s ideal criteria for distributors- if "Chinese Whispers" was to be distributed in the UK . History in credits have been in total a number of thirty titles released on, DVD, Blu-Ray, Television, VOD (Video on Demand) and has twenty titles undergoing at the moment. G2 has made alliances with other dependent distributions, internationally based, which have lead to international sales thus gaining more contacts within the industry. This would be most beneficial to LNR (our production company) in gaining a wider audience too.
4. PROMOTINGvia sites On their site, G2 have promoted After Dark Originals (being their motion picture studio): with the company’s website address being the first thing we see on www.g2pictures.co.uk [official website]. Underneath, the company’s official Facebook page link is also posted. The fact they’ve shared the link on their official site, it would lead to growth of their fan-base, [due to Facebook being the highest ranked social-networking site], any film titles being named on their would gain recognition.
