What Would A Satisfactory Moral Theory Be Like?
In James Rachels' book, The Elements of Moral Philosophy, he expresses ideas within the
concluding chapter, "What Would a Satisfactory Moral Theory be like?" that lay an silhouette of
every moral approach we have discussed so far and compounding it into a final discussion with a
couple of final contentions towards a comprehensive understanding of morality and the approaches
we can make as moral guides to make decisions that are virtuous for each class without exception.
Rachels' gives thoughtful perspective on all subjects that we have learned about and makes final
accumulations for the way we can decide to use these for our own benefit. While then expressing
the virtues we must value for ourselves to have a best plan, and the ways our choices can help
others in a positive aspect....show more content...
Our natural state within the universe when compared to the scale of history is extremely
insignificant, and arises the fluid thought that our complete conscious existence relies on
evolutionary accidents. It becomes clear with time that our knowledge of ourselves as a population
of species compared to any other mammals is quite significant but yet completely detrimental to the
health of our universe. We must be able as humans to grasp these concepts and particularly build a
world better suited for future figures to give philosophical thoughts and aspects as the human race
continues to develop. There is a shortcoming with our behavior, as Rachels describes, that if an
action would help satisfy our own self–interest, than we see the most reason to perform such tasks.
This leaves us prone to being selfish and to sometimes hold interests out of other people's version of
acceptable behavior. Rachels signifies that all people do not have to follow any one true
combination of morals, ethics, or

Reflection On Eportfolio
Welcome to my eportfolio, here you will find an in–depth analysis about my WOVE experiences in
English250. By creating my eportfolio I have learned my weaknesses and strengths within my
written, oral, visual, and electronic communication modes. When you begin exploring my portfolio,
I will be sharing with you on how I have grown within the WOVE areas this semester.
Here is a brief overview of what you can find on my eportfolio. The menu section that is located at
the top of the website can be easily used to navigate my introductory, about me, WOVE, reflection,
and closing pages. These pages can also be easily accessed on the contents which is located at the
top right side of each page. The WOVE page has a drop–down box menu that contains my written
communication, and OVE communication modes. Also, the reflection page has a drop–down box
menu that contains my reflection on my written revision, reflection on OVE artifact, and Special
reflection about E. The closing page will contain my final closing reflection and my about me page,
will personally tell you more about myself.
My composing techniques have slightly changed since I began this course, I learned the important
aspects of using a rough draft. At the beginning of this semester I would spend more time writing
down my thoughts on a paper then organizing my thoughts within the rough draft. I learned that it
is ineffective for me to just write down my ideas on a paper with no purpose because I tend to
jumble my words. By

Four Functions of Management Essay
Four Functions of Management
Abstract
The four functions of management, planning, organizing, leading, and controlling, are very essential
in building strong organizations and even stronger more effective teams. Planning, organizing,
leading, and controlling are the functions of management. These function activities must be
preformed by all managers regardless of their industry level, title, or the task they have at hand.
These four management skill are used when ever a project or a task is at hand. Even in the field we
are working in, many of us may have been using the four management functions and not noticed
what they were, or we may have been a part of a team that was lead by the functions of management
and not noticed what was...show more content...
The planning stage is where all the other pats of management begin from and it is important at all
levels of management.
The way planning is used at the college where I work, is after each semester or during the break
in–between each semester we have a departmental meeting where we sit and discuss what
happened during the past quarter and then we plan and discuss what we want to happen for the
following semester. We set goals on how many students we want in each of the business programs
and what actions we need to take in order to make our plan be a success.
Also at this particular stage our Department Chair tells us what she expect of us are team member
and role models for our students.
Organizing
Organizing is identifying what jobs need to be done, and hiring the qualified people to do them.
The way organizing is used at the college is the Department Chair has to define the roles and
responsibilities of each instructor and to ensure that the instructors skill matches the class they were
assign to teach. This function is important in order for the semester to be successful.
Leading
Leading is defined and having to influence the people in the team to get the job done, molding the
company and managing conflict and team communications
The way leading is used at the college is not only does the Department Chair assigns us a task to do
or organize particular team events, but her role

My Mother Essay
What can one say about their mother? One may talk about her positive and negative characteristics.
There are so many great traits I love and admire about my mom, that it would be difficult and unfair
to write about just one. Being strong, generous and optimistic are all some great personality traits,
which my mother possesses.
Ever since I can remember, my mother has been a strong individual. She raised my brother and I
financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually by herself. My mom gave her all, by that I
mean, she worked two jobs to make sure her children ate properly and that they had the essential
amenities to grow happily and successfully. Another way she supported us was with love and care.

She would encourage me by simply saying, "Complaining is a useless way to solve problems, but
becoming active on the issue is a great way to conquer it. My mother My mother has always had
strong faith and views in her religion. When I was younger, every day and night, she would bring
prayer time to me and my brother's attention. My mom instilled As a child, my mother displayed the
seriousness of spirituality. In which she expressed her faith in us at an early age, that prayer time
was not the time to make jokes nor to complain about having to partake in it.
One lesson she taught us the most, was how seriousness about our spiritual beliefs could provide us
with a substantial, stable and structural lifestyle.
My mother's heart is at its purest when giving. I witnessed my mother chip in and pay for people's
rent, car notes, and buying them groceries. Although my mother's intentions were good,
occasionally, her generosity has been taken advantage of. One time a close friend of the family, came
to my mother in desperate need. He asked her to loan him a large amount of money, with the
agreement that he would pay back in either monthly or weekly installments. My mom never did see
the money that was due to her. Despite the incident she still gives and encourages others to give,
whether is it a donation, or volunteering your time in your community. My

Reflection Paper On Aging
As a 25–year–old adult, consider myself on the younger spectrum as far as biological age.
However, I am being reminded daily that I am getting older. I no longer can recover from a workout
as rapidly as I used to, I require more sleep after a night of staying up late, there are no more "all
nighters", and I have recently developed pain in my joints and spine. As you may have noticed, all
the reasons I have listed above seem obviously negative. This is exactly what I am hoping to get out
of this class. A positive perspective of theaging process. I have noticed when I pay attention to the
physical aging process my body undergoes; my brain is focused on the negative changes and
instead should be focusing on what my age has given me over the years. I am hoping, through
taking this class, I will expand my knowledge tremendously on the aging process and begin to
switch my way of thinking to a more positive one and begin living a better quality of life as the
years pass. Like most people in American society and culture, when I hear the term aging it is
almost always thought of negatively. Americans have become obsessed with finding ways to live
a longer and healthier life and when one of those people here the term 'aging' it is viewed as a
detriment to their thought of living longer. It is often a scary thought because people assume that
the best years of their life are behind them. I personally do not feel physically as old as I do
mentally. I am weary, however, as life goes on that my body will eventually catch up to mymind. I
hope however that I can be healthy all around at an older age because I would hate to be ill and
not be able to enjoy life at its greatest potential. I believe that most people, including myself, have
the perception that aging limits your mobility. People often assume that the once you get to a
certain age you will be limited to where you can live and must be forced into a retirement home. This
perception more than likely is false, and perhaps coming from individuals that have seen loved
ones not being cared for and have taken a similar path. This perception most likely comes from
observation of adults telling younger ones by word of mouth however untrue it may be. I would

MLA Rough Draft
1.When writing, whether you paraphrase or directly quote someone else's ideas anywhere in your
paper, you must document the use of those borrowed ideas with an internal citation notation. In
MLA, there are two basic features of an internal citation. What are they?
In–text citation – This is a parenthetical citation within the paper that refers the reader to a list of
works cited. It commonly includes the author of the source and a page number, and punctuation
separates the author's last name and the page number. Nor is the abbreviation p. (for "page") used.
The period that ends the sentence appears after the closing parenthesis. 2.In MLA, if you work

In MLA, how are the works cited entries organized on the Work(s) Cited page?
пѓ Tell me how to arrange a works cited list on the page. No example required.
пЃ¶Create a new page at the end of your paper for a "Works Cited" list. Center the words "Works
Cited" at the top of the page. Double space after the title and begin entering citations.
пЃ¶Entries are listed alphabetically by the last name of the author or by the first major word of the
title if no author is given. If a source has more than one author, it is alphabetized by the last name of
the author whose name appears first. The entries are not numbered.
пЃ¶Entries are double–spaced.
пЃ¶The first line of each entry begins at the left margin. If more than one line is needed to complete
the entry, additional lines are indented five spaces or half an inch (this is called a hanging indent).
6.In MLA, if the source's identity is not worked into (written as part of) your sentence structure, how
does the internal citation look the first time you create it? Use your last name and page number 123
to illustrate your answer.
To correctly answer question 6, show me (don't tell me) how an internal citation looks the first time
you cite it in your paper, using your name as the source and page number 123 to complete your
response. You don't need to write a sentence first, just show me the

Essay On Compost
Best way to Compost and Making Compost
If you form good healthy soil, your plants which grow in that soil can also be healthy. And also are
you aware that scientific studies are showing that soil helped by compost can also produce plants
with fewer unwanted pests problems?
Money or time devoted to your gardens soil tends to bring the most effective returns: healthy,
vigorous plants in addition to fantastic harvests.
The compost can help hold in moisture, to provide valuable nutrients to the roots of developing
plants. In addition the compost act as an excellent mulch, holding moisture in addition to weeds out

Healthy soil is the foundation of any fruit and vegetable garden, whether or not we're referring to
the growing in the earth, in grow bags along with containers, and also raised beds plus planters.
For flower beds and also vegetable gardens, till about three inches of the compost into the top six
inches of fairly dry garden soil.
For all our tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and also other vegetable plants – we fill each hole with a
decent shovel full of compost before we drop in the plants.
To Mulch or Not
I did previously believe that I really needed an inch or two of this bark mulch all around, many
gardening resources really preach making use of woody mulches, having said that the compost is
really a superior mulch on its own so a sprinkling of the pretty bark mulch would suffice to beautify
the bed.
Making use of the natural and organic methods, include a little mulch or compost, and you'll be
headed in the right direction to create good soil for your home–grown vegetables.
We mulch every one of our annual plantings using an inch or two layer of compost around each
individual plant.
Simplest Composting Methods
Most every gardener who's used mulches is familiar with how it works: You will put down a thick
layer at the start of the season, you'll suddenly

Government
Government! You can't live with it! You can't live without it! It is the "common cold" that everyone

exercise of authority in a political unit in order to control and administer public policy." Webster's

exercised over a nation, state, community, etc." The common individual might define government as
the root of all evil. The thing about government is that no one stops to think about how government

is defined in Webster's Desk Dictionary of the English Language as any government in which the
supreme power rests in the body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by representatives
chosen directly or indirectly by them. There are three types of republics; dictatorship, oligarchy, or

A dictatorship is a republic ruled by one individual. Cuba has a dictatorship. Fidel Castro is the
main contributor to Cuban society. He oversees his people yet allows his people the right to vote
him in or out of office.
An oligarchy is another type of republic. This type is ruled by a select few. An example of an
oligarchic society would be France. King Louis XV is king but he has a complete parliament to
assist him in the law making procedure of France.
The third type of republic is a democracy. A democracy is defined as a society ruled by the
majority. An example of a democratic republic would be the United States.
There are four theories that coincide with government; divine, natural, social compact, and force.
The divine theory was developed out of religion. The theory states that government ordained itself
from God, and its main purpose is

Companies are misguided nowadays by the notion that customers depend on them, when the truth of
the matter is that companies are dependent on those customers. Customer satisfaction and customer

customer satisfaction and customer loyalty and how to companies and or business achieve this? Also
when you have difficult customers how do you achieve customer satisfaction?

Customer loyalty is much harder to obtain that customer service satisfaction. The most important
first step is to satisfy the customer by meeting their expectations. Customers only give a company
one chance and if they aren't satisfied they will not do business with that company again, as well
as tell others of their experience. The next step would be to exceed the customer's expectations. If a
business goes above and beyond to assist the customer they begin to build loyalty. The next step is
to truly surprise the customer. In order to dominate the marketplace the company must find a way to
make them selves stand out with their product or service, accompanied with phenomenal customer
service. Once this has been done customer satisfaction and loyalty will be gained. "Acquiring a new
customer can cost four or five times more than keeping a current customer" (Bestmark, 2013). So it's
essential to keep the current customer's happy and coming back for more.
Some of the ways that businesses can build loyalty would be by offering loyalty programs,
Interacting with customers, surveys, creating institutional ties, and personalized marketing. Another
way to build loyalty is to treat your employees so well that they treat your customers well. If you
have happy employees they will treat your customers happy. "The link between satisfaction and
loyalty however is not proportional" (Kotler, Keller, 2009, p71), so businesses must

Grit Essay Examples
Grit is a predictor of academic, professional, and personal success. Grit can be defined as strength
of character or the ability to overcome failure and continue to work toward success. People with
grit are not always the people with the most natural ability, but their work ethic and ability to

any venture, as it gives someone an advantage in overcoming the inevitable obstacles they will face.

I had no experience as a runner nor did I have the form. This did not phase me however. That year
I promised myself to push through all the six mile runs, sore legs, gnarly blisters, and at times,
lack of oxygen. At every meet and speed workout practice I pushed myself further and further. I
set a goal every time I kicked off from the starting line and never let myself get discouraged when
I failed. By my senior year, I was the fourth fastest runner on varsity. That year our varsity team
won the district meet, which qualified us to run in the 2016 state meet in Oregon. The
transformation over the years were evident. My determination to accomplish my goal of
becoming a faster runner was complete. If I had simply just given up that first day of practice, I
wouldn't have ran along side of the fastest runners in Oregon or have met the multitude of people
that are now my closest friends. Having a goal sets one up for a challenge, whether it being
physically or mentally, goals keep us active and thinking in more ways than one. Still, if someone
has self–control, confidence, and a goal, they are still not complete. Growth mindset is the cone to
an ice cream. It is the foundation of what I think a successful person is. Without it one couldn't use
the characteristics mentioned above in more ways than one. Someone with a growth mindset believe
that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, brains and talent
are just the starting point.

Religion and Spirituality Essay examples
Religion and Spirituality Since the dawn of human life, people have eternally been searching for the
purpose of existence. Humans are innately curious beings, and are blessed to have the capabilities of
higher thought processes. Humans use these thought processes to ponder the question of existence.
Unfortunately, the evolution of man has not brought the human race any closer to actualizing its
purpose on earth. In fact, this issue is such that the more one feels he or she understands it, the more
questions concerning it arise. This problem perpetuates itself by the confusion of religion and
spirituality, and the roles they hold in society. As the human race evolves, it feels the need to
designate structure to its world. As...show more content...
The fact that religion is exploited for personal and social gain can be seen throughout history, and
will be later discussed.
In order to fully understand how religion and spirituality are different, as well as how religion is
exploited, one must first have an effective definition of the two terms. Religion is a certain mode of
orientation towards reality (Howerth, 1983). This definition encompasses many things, and therefore
personal beliefs cannot make up the whole of religion. Oftentimes, religion is seen as a moral
standard for humans to evaluate their lives against. However, if one looks deeper into the reasons
behind moral values, one finds that values that are virtuous are those that contribute to the
development of society, and values that are dishonorable are those that impair the development of
society. Religion consists of organized bodies that congregate with the purpose of creatingsocial
order (Bharati, 1971). When one looks at any religion, one can see this, but a blatant example is the
religion of Hinduism. An integral part of this religion is the caste system. From an outside
perspective, the caste system seems very cold and uninviting – the exact opposite of what the general
public takes religion to be. However, the caste system served the purpose of organizing a society for
many years (Mathur, 1974). According to the working definition of religion, the caste system of

Essay on Listening for Understanding
Listening for Understanding
Listening is an important form of communication. Unfortunately, many people who do not know
how to listen believe they can listen well. They often say "I have been doing this all of my life of
course I can listen". Listening is not inherited, or a personality trait, it is a skill that must be worked
on and practiced.
Anybody can become a good listener if they are committed to learn how and are willing to work
hard. The first mistake that people tend to make when listening is to not make any type of
comments while listening. They tend to just stand there and listen while the speaker talks. This can
become very frustrating for the speaker and the listener. While the speaker may feel like he isn't being

the main points of what the speaker was saying so that the focus is on the speaker and not you. It
is always important to try and listen objectively no matter what the speaker is trying to say. By
doing this, you will become a better listener and more able to communicate with others concerning
subjects that might normally make you angry to the point that you would no longer be able to carry
on a working conversation with that individual. This will make you especially valuable in the
management industry where, as a rule, people will come to you with problems that need to be
resolved.
It is important to listen carefully and to withhold personal judgement. This is especially true when the
subject matter or the position taken by the speaker is making you angry. In this circumstance, your
interjections, if not thoroughly thought through, may just make the person defensive. Problems can
also arise if you are too nice and give a lot of positive comments. People like it when they are being
praised. This can alter what the speaker is saying. If you continue to give positive comments the
speaker will continue to want more of them from you. If you want to find out what the speaker is
really thinking you need to listen and withhold evaluation.
As well as withholding evaluation one must also show patience. While many

Business communication needs to become interpersonal again. No matter how we believe our
human forms came into existence, we were built to need personal contact and function best with
face–to–face communication. As children, we desired comfort from touch, a hug from our mothers.
As teenagers, we held hands with our boyfriend or girlfriend. As adults in the workforce, we still
need to feel that connection and comfort with our families and the people we work with. As Susan

For the greatest success of the business, employees need interpersonal communication to connect
with their co–workers. A leadership expert, John C. Maxwell (2010) says: "Connecting goes beyond
words." (p. 41). Physically being in the same room, verbally speaking thoughts, engaging in eye
contact, and being able to see nonverbal responses are all important and add to a person's
understanding of the message being communicated and feeling a connection. Overall,
communicating face–to–face is more natural for employees. An employee knows who is hearing
what they are saying and seeing their nonverbal gestures. The employee can either get immediate
feedback whether or not the person understands or agrees or disagrees. The communication does not
have to be formatted as it does on paper. An employee should still present themselves professionally,
but communicating face–to–face is a process, instead of format.
Through in–person communication, employees will be able to not only build needed connections,
but relationships and trust with co–workers in the business. Maslow's hierarchy of needs is like a
staircase, a person needs to satisfy the lower stairs to easily reach and fulfill the higher staircases.

ourselves in the other person's position. She always gives me her best friend and at the same time
her motherly advice. She is kind hearted, but is not afraid to rip the bandage when needed. We both
gossip and laugh about everything! Our conversations can go on for the longest time. There is
nothing but love to the fact that we will manage our time for each other even if our schedules are a
little hassled.
On top of that, maturing in life is very important to me. I never want to have a friend that doesn't
grow. I confront everything life throws at my direction. Weirdly, with all of the struggles Maria and
I have had together, it has definitely helped us mature together in life. To this day I couldn't be more
grateful to the fact that we both

I have learned many things throughout the course of the term, including such things as: how to write
an essay and how to improve on essays that I have already written, how to locate and composite
better research through the use of numerous resources found at the campus library, the internet, and
the "Common Sense" textbook, how to cite research, examples, and quotations properly within the
contents of my research paper as well as document it accurately according to MLA standards.
Through the exploration of the "Subjects and Strategies" textbook, I have learned nine different
methods used when writing an effective essay and how the different writing styles affect the overall
theme and tone of the essay when used properly. This past...show more content...
This allowed me to write more extensively on the topic I had chosen which in turn helped expand
the size of my research paper. I received a B on my final draft; the first passing grade I have ever
received on a research paper. I am very satisfied with my grade. When it came to the essays
writing became a little trickier because I had to understand what it was I needed to write about
and the style in which I need to write it in. There are nine essay writing methods which I learned
while attending this course: exemplification, compare/contrast, cause and effect, proposal,
narration, process, division/classification, definition, and argument. The only problems I
encountered when trying to write the essays that were assigned to me by the instructor was
finding suitable subject matter to write about. Once I found my topics for my essay, everything
else became easier. I would first produce a rough draft and then the students, the instructor, and
myself would go over them in class and decided if what I was writing was in its best form. Most
of my rough drafts needed improvement, but if it didn't it wouldn't be a rough draft, so it was
understood. My final drafts were very satisfying for me as well as the grades I received on them.
For my exemplification essay I chose to write about the reasons why condoms

Essay on Analysis of a Leaflet
Analysis of a Leaflet
o All of the information on the leaflet has been designed in such a manner so that it is easy to read
and retains the readers' attention. The information has been well–spaced, condensed into a few lines
so that there is not an over–indulgence in unnecessary details and bullet points have been used to
condense the information and present it readable chunks, so that the target audience remains
interested and are not forced to read a heavy text.
o Direct language is featured in the leaflet (e.g. "You" and "Are you Magistrate Material?) to address
the reader and engage their attention. Rhetorical questions have also been used for the same purpose.

o It was imperative that the colour scheme of the leaflet appealed to both sexes and the large range
of ages that our target audience covers. The background of the leaflet is a green, which, is a vibrant
colour designed to attract the readers attention to the leaflet when it is on the stands, it is also
reasonably neutral and does not appeal to one sex more than the other. The subheadings and
headings have a blue font in order to contrast with the green font and add to the striking effect.
o The white outline, on which, the text is placed on makes the black of the main body of the text
stand out.
o Quotes from magistrates have also been used in the middle and back sections of the leaflet. This
is effective as it adds a personal touch, thus, is more appealing to the reader. The target audience is
also appealed to as many of the people who are featured in the quotations are from ethnic minorities.
The front cover
o The front cover has been designed in a manner to attract the target audience to the leaflet. The use
of the rhetorical question "Are You Magistrate Material" is though provoking and immediately grabs
the readers' attention and encourages them to continue reading.
o The caption at the bottom of the page "Promoting

My biggest skill problem is APA formatting. I have always used MLA formatting, so when I
started classes here at Ashford I am having to learn how to use APA formatting. Using the APA
formatting checklist has helped me learn how to use it but I'm still not good at using it, it is getting
easier as I have to use it. And when I use Grammarly helps with all the other problems that I was
having when writing a paper.

  • 1. What Would A Satisfactory Moral Theory Be Like? In James Rachels' book, The Elements of Moral Philosophy, he expresses ideas within the concluding chapter, "What Would a Satisfactory Moral Theory be like?" that lay an silhouette of every moral approach we have discussed so far and compounding it into a final discussion with a couple of final contentions towards a comprehensive understanding of morality and the approaches we can make as moral guides to make decisions that are virtuous for each class without exception. Rachels' gives thoughtful perspective on all subjects that we have learned about and makes final accumulations for the way we can decide to use these for our own benefit. While then expressing the virtues we must value for ourselves to have a best plan, and the ways our choices can help others in a positive aspect....show more content... Our natural state within the universe when compared to the scale of history is extremely insignificant, and arises the fluid thought that our complete conscious existence relies on evolutionary accidents. It becomes clear with time that our knowledge of ourselves as a population of species compared to any other mammals is quite significant but yet completely detrimental to the health of our universe. We must be able as humans to grasp these concepts and particularly build a world better suited for future figures to give philosophical thoughts and aspects as the human race continues to develop. There is a shortcoming with our behavior, as Rachels describes, that if an action would help satisfy our own self–interest, than we see the most reason to perform such tasks. This leaves us prone to being selfish and to sometimes hold interests out of other people's version of acceptable behavior. Rachels signifies that all people do not have to follow any one true combination of morals, ethics, or Get more content on HelpWriting.net

By creating my eportfolio I have learned my weaknesses and strengths within my written, oral, visual, and electronic communication modes. When you begin exploring my portfolio, I will be sharing with you on how I have grown within the WOVE areas this semester. Here is a brief overview of what you can find on my eportfolio. The menu section that is located at the top of the website can be easily used to navigate my introductory, about me, WOVE, reflection, and closing pages. These pages can also be easily accessed on the contents which is located at the top right side of each page. The WOVE page has a drop–down box menu that contains my written communication, and OVE communication modes. Also, the reflection page has a drop–down box menu that contains my reflection on my written revision, reflection on OVE artifact, and Special reflection about E. The closing page will contain my final closing reflection and my about me page, will personally tell you more about myself. My composing techniques have slightly changed since I began this course, I learned the important aspects of using a rough draft. At the beginning of this semester I would spend more time writing down my thoughts on a paper then organizing my thoughts within the rough draft. I learned that it is ineffective for me to just write down my ideas on a paper with no purpose because I tend to jumble my words. By Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Four Functions of Management Essay Four Functions of Management Abstract The four functions of management, planning, organizing, leading, and controlling, are very essential in building strong organizations and even stronger more effective teams. Planning, organizing, leading, and controlling are the functions of management. These function activities must be preformed by all managers regardless of their industry level, title, or the task they have at hand. These four management skill are used when ever a project or a task is at hand. The planning stage is where all the other pats of management begin from and it is important at all levels of management. The way planning is used at the college where I work, is after each semester or during the break in–between each semester we have a departmental meeting where we sit and discuss what happened during the past quarter and then we plan and discuss what we want to happen for the following semester. We set goals on how many students we want in each of the business programs and what actions we need to take in order to make our plan be a success. Also at this particular stage our Department Chair tells us what she expect of us are team member and role models for our students. Organizing Organizing is identifying what jobs need to be done, and hiring the qualified people to do them. The way organizing is used at the college is the Department Chair has to define the roles and responsibilities of each instructor and to ensure that the instructors skill matches the class they were assign to teach. There are so many great traits I love and admire about my mom, that it would be difficult and unfair to write about just one. She raised my brother and I financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually by herself. My mom instilled As a child, my mother displayed the seriousness of spirituality. In which she expressed her faith in us at an early age, that prayer time was not the time to make jokes nor to complain about having to partake in it. One lesson she taught us the most, was how seriousness about our spiritual beliefs could provide us with a substantial, stable and structural lifestyle. My mother's heart is at its purest when giving. I witnessed my mother chip in and pay for people's rent, car notes, and buying them groceries. Although my mother's intentions were good, occasionally, her generosity has been taken advantage of. One time a close friend of the family, came to my mother in desperate need. He asked her to loan him a large amount of money, with the agreement that he would pay back in either monthly or weekly installments. My mom never did see the money that was due to her. Despite the incident she still gives and encourages others to give, whether is it a donation, or volunteering your time in your community. My Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 6. Reflection Paper On Aging As a 25–year–old adult, consider myself on the younger spectrum as far as biological age. However, I am being reminded daily that I am getting older. I no longer can recover from a workout as rapidly as I used to, I require more sleep after a night of staying up late, there are no more "all nighters", and I have recently developed pain in my joints and spine. As you may have noticed, all the reasons I have listed above seem obviously negative. This is exactly what I am hoping to get out of this class. A positive perspective of theaging process. I have noticed when I pay attention to the physical aging process my body undergoes; my brain is focused on the negative changes and instead should be focusing on what my age has given me over the years. I am hoping, through taking this class, I will expand my knowledge tremendously on the aging process and begin to switch my way of thinking to a more positive one and begin living a better quality of life as the years pass. Like most people in American society and culture, when I hear the term aging it is almost always thought of negatively. Americans have become obsessed with finding ways to live a longer and healthier life and when one of those people here the term 'aging' it is viewed as a detriment to their thought of living longer. It is often a scary thought because people assume that the best years of their life are behind them. I personally do not feel physically as old as I do mentally. I am weary, however, as life goes on that my body will eventually catch up to mymind. I hope however that I can be healthy all around at an older age because I would hate to be ill and not be able to enjoy life at its greatest potential. I believe that most people, including myself, have the perception that aging limits your mobility. People often assume that the once you get to a certain age you will be limited to where you can live and must be forced into a retirement home. This perception more than likely is false, and perhaps coming from individuals that have seen loved ones not being cared for and have taken a similar path. This perception most likely comes from observation of adults telling younger ones by word of mouth however untrue it may be. I would love to say Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Healthy soil is the foundation of any fruit and vegetable garden, whether or not we're referring to the growing in the earth, in grow bags along with containers, and also raised beds plus planters. For flower beds and also vegetable gardens, till about three inches of the compost into the top six inches of fairly dry garden soil. For all our tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and also other vegetable plants – we fill each hole with a decent shovel full of compost before we drop in the plants. To Mulch or Not I did previously believe that I really needed an inch or two of this bark mulch all around, many gardening resources really preach making use of woody mulches, having said that the compost is really a superior mulch on its own so a sprinkling of the pretty bark mulch would suffice to beautify the bed. Making use of the natural and organic methods, include a little mulch or compost, and you'll be headed in the right direction to create good soil for your home–grown vegetables. We mulch every one of our annual plantings using an inch or two layer of compost around each individual plant. Simplest Composting Methods Most every gardener who's used mulches is familiar with how it works: You will put down a thick layer at the start of the season, you'll suddenly

There are three types of republics; dictatorship, oligarchy, or democracy. A dictatorship is a republic ruled by one individual. Cuba has a dictatorship. Fidel Castro is the main contributor to Cuban society. He oversees his people yet allows his people the right to vote him in or out of office. An oligarchy is another type of republic. The third type of republic is a democracy. A democracy is defined as a society ruled by the majority. An example of a democratic republic would be the United States. Also when you have difficult customers how do you achieve customer satisfaction? It's essential that companies or businesses today listen to their customers. The most important first step is to satisfy the customer by meeting their expectations. Customers only give a company one chance and if they aren't satisfied they will not do business with that company again, as well as tell others of their experience. The next step would be to exceed the customer's expectations. If a business goes above and beyond to assist the customer they begin to build loyalty. The next step is to truly surprise the customer. In order to dominate the marketplace the company must find a way to make them selves stand out with their product or service, accompanied with phenomenal customer service. Once this has been done customer satisfaction and loyalty will be gained. "Acquiring a new customer can cost four or five times more than keeping a current customer" (Bestmark, 2013). So it's essential to keep the current customer's happy and coming back for more. Some of the ways that businesses can build loyalty would be by offering loyalty programs, Interacting with customers, surveys, creating institutional ties, and personalized marketing. • 14. Grit Essay Examples Grit is a predictor of academic, professional, and personal success. Grit can be defined as strength of character or the ability to overcome failure and continue to work toward success. People with grit are not always the people with the most natural ability, but their work ethic and ability to overcome obstacles allows them to achieve success. Grit is a very valuable characteristic in almost any venture, as it gives someone an advantage in overcoming the inevitable obstacles they will face. However, grit is much easier adopted when an individual has a growth mindset. The first step to obtaining grit is to correlate both self–control and self–confidence when trying to reach an objective. That year I promised myself to push through all the six mile runs, sore legs, gnarly blisters, and at times, lack of oxygen. At every meet and speed workout practice I pushed myself further and further. I set a goal every time I kicked off from the starting line and never let myself get discouraged when I failed. By my senior year, I was the fourth fastest runner on varsity. That year our varsity team won the district meet, which qualified us to run in the 2016 state meet in Oregon. The transformation over the years were evident. My determination to accomplish my goal of becoming a faster runner was complete. If I had simply just given up that first day of practice, I wouldn't have ran along side of the fastest runners in Oregon or have met the multitude of people that are now my closest friends. Having a goal sets one up for a challenge, whether it being physically or mentally, goals keep us active and thinking in more ways than one. Still, if someone has self–control, confidence, and a goal, they are still not complete. Growth mindset is the cone to an ice cream. It is the foundation of what I think a successful person is. Without it one couldn't use the characteristics mentioned above in more ways than one. Someone with a growth mindset believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, brains and talent are just the starting point. • 15. Religion and Spirituality Essay examples Religion and Spirituality Since the dawn of human life, people have eternally been searching for the purpose of existence. Humans are innately curious beings, and are blessed to have the capabilities of higher thought processes. Humans use these thought processes to ponder the question of existence. Unfortunately, the evolution of man has not brought the human race any closer to actualizing its purpose on earth. In fact, this issue is such that the more one feels he or she understands it, the more questions concerning it arise. This problem perpetuates itself by the confusion of religion and spirituality, and the roles they hold in society. As the human race evolves, it feels the need to designate structure to its world. As...show more content... The fact that religion is exploited for personal and social gain can be seen throughout history, and will be later discussed. In order to fully understand how religion and spirituality are different, as well as how religion is exploited, one must first have an effective definition of the two terms. Religion is a certain mode of orientation towards reality (Howerth, 1983). This definition encompasses many things, and therefore personal beliefs cannot make up the whole of religion. Oftentimes, religion is seen as a moral standard for humans to evaluate their lives against. However, if one looks deeper into the reasons behind moral values, one finds that values that are virtuous are those that contribute to the development of society, and values that are dishonorable are those that impair the development of society. Religion consists of organized bodies that congregate with the purpose of creatingsocial order (Bharati, 1971). When one looks at any religion, one can see this, but a blatant example is the religion of Hinduism. An integral part of this religion is the caste system. From an outside perspective, the caste system seems very cold and uninviting – the exact opposite of what the general public takes religion to be. However, the caste system served the purpose of organizing a society for many years (Mathur, 1974). According to the working definition of religion, the caste system of Hinduism is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Essay on Listening for Understanding Listening for Understanding Listening is an important form of communication. Unfortunately, many people who do not know how to listen believe they can listen well. They often say "I have been doing this all of my life of course I can listen". Listening is not inherited, or a personality trait, it is a skill that must be worked on and practiced. Anybody can become a good listener if they are committed to learn how and are willing to work hard. The first mistake that people tend to make when listening is to not make any type of comments while listening. They tend to just stand there and listen while the speaker talks. Try to listen to what the speaker is trying to say and not to what is making you angry. Summarize the main points of what the speaker was saying so that the focus is on the speaker and not you. It is always important to try and listen objectively no matter what the speaker is trying to say. By doing this, you will become a better listener and more able to communicate with others concerning subjects that might normally make you angry to the point that you would no longer be able to carry on a working conversation with that individual. This will make you especially valuable in the management industry where, as a rule, people will come to you with problems that need to be resolved. It is important to listen carefully and to withhold personal judgement. This is especially true when the subject matter or the position taken by the speaker is making you angry. In this circumstance, your interjections, if not thoroughly thought through, may just make the person defensive. Problems can also arise if you are too nice and give a lot of positive comments. People like it when they are being praised. This can alter what the speaker is saying. If you continue to give positive comments the speaker will continue to want more of them from you. If you want to find out what the speaker is really thinking you need to listen and withhold evaluation. As well as withholding evaluation one must also show patience. No matter how we believe our human forms came into existence, we were built to need personal contact and function best with face–to–face communication. As children, we desired comfort from touch, a hug from our mothers. As teenagers, we held hands with our boyfriend or girlfriend. As adults in the workforce, we still need to feel that connection and comfort with our families and the people we work with. For the greatest success of the business, employees need interpersonal communication to connect with their co–workers. A leadership expert, John C. Maxwell (2010) says: "Connecting goes beyond words." (p. 41). Physically being in the same room, verbally speaking thoughts, engaging in eye contact, and being able to see nonverbal responses are all important and add to a person's understanding of the message being communicated and feeling a connection. Overall, communicating face–to–face is more natural for employees. An employee knows who is hearing what they are saying and seeing their nonverbal gestures. The employee can either get immediate feedback whether or not the person understands or agrees or disagrees. The communication does not have to be formatted as it does on paper. An employee should still present themselves professionally, but communicating face–to–face is a process, instead of format. Through in–person communication, employees will be able to not only build needed connections, but relationships and trust with co–workers in the business.
