This document describes an ultrasonic automatic vehicle braking system for forward collision avoidance. The system uses an ultrasonic sound sensor and Arduino board as its core components. It functions by using the ultrasonic sensor to emit and receive ultrasonic waves to detect obstacles in front of the vehicle. When an obstacle is detected within a certain distance, the system automatically applies the brakes to avoid a collision. The advantages are that it helps maintain vehicle stability and control to avoid accidents, particularly for inexperienced drivers. The disadvantages are it can miss detecting some small or curved objects and the system increases maintenance costs.
