2. Introduction
Interstellar is a 2014 American-British
Epic science Fiction film directed by
Christopher Nolan. The movie is most
critically acclaimed science fiction movie
for its scientific exactness. The movie
won an Oscar for the visual effects. And
it also an Most rated science fiction
movie on IMDb.
The film relies on real science for many
of its stunning visuals. Physicist Kip
Thorne, An expert on black holes and
worm holes provided the math for the
movie.
Still from the movie showing black hole
“Gargantua”.
3. Black Hole
Black holes form when the center of very massive star collapses in upon itself.
The presence of mass distort the space-time as if they are rubber sheets.
4. SUPERMASSIVE BLACK HOLE:
GARGANTUA
In movie the spacecraft named ‘Endurance’ destination is Gargantuan a
fictional supermassive black hole with mass 100 million times that of the sun.
It lies 10 billion light-years from earth and is orbited by several planets.
Gargantua rotates at an notable 99.8% speed of light.
5. Wormhole’s Working
If two singularities in far apart location could be merged, a wormhole tunnel
through the bulk could be formed. Such wormholes cannot form naturally,
however being able to control gravity and travel through the Bulk could
create wormholes and cross space much faster than light.
6. In movie the wormhole seems sphere which is exactly we’ll see in person, It is
1.25 miles in diameter and 10 billion light-years long.
In the above diagram the wormhole mouth is circle because the universe is
shown as two dimensional membrane.
7. Relativity Effect or time dilation
The most spectacular part of movie was time dilation as on one of the planet
the 1 hour was equal to 7 year of the earth’s time, it seems amazing to
imagine such a thing and to believe the fact that this could actually happen
but that is real. And this can be explained using the Einstein theory of
relativity.
8. Branes and Bulk
Our three dimensional universe can be considered as a flat membrane (or
Brane) floating in four dimensional void called bulk.
The Universe (Brane)
Neighboring Universe
The bulk
9. Conclusion
The movie explains all the real scientific phenomenon in true respect. It can
be called the only science fiction movie on which critics never laughed. The
detailing of the science cannot be seen in any other movie made in world.
