This document discusses black holes, how they are formed from massive dying stars, and some of their properties. Black holes are created through supernova explosions of large stars over 9-10 times the mass of our Sun. Their extremely strong gravity pulls everything inward, even distorting the fabric of spacetime itself. Black holes were once thought to be eternal, but Hawking radiation shows they can slowly evaporate over trillions of years through losing energy. The document explores questions about black hole formation, properties like gravitational acceleration, and their inevitable deaths according to theories of quantum mechanics and general relativity.
3. This is the first image of black hole took by a telescope.
How does this technically appear a black hole?
4. So how do black holes are formed? What factors create these
giant monstrosities? Can our sun become one too?
Black holes have the most violent history in the
universe so lets cover these questions one by
one.
5. Black Holes are created when a huge star dies in explosion knows as
supernovas.
Supernova happens when a massive star dies in a large explosion
carried out by gravity ¼ speed of light. WHICH IS 3 x 10^8 m/s!!
When a star having approximate 9 or 10 solar masses enters in a
supernova then it forms a black hole because smallest of black holes
are of 9 to 10 solar masses.
When gravity pushes the star under itself so the core get so much
pressured that it eventually break the laws of physics and break the
volume limit by 10s of thousands of time.
Once volume limit is broken ,star couldn’t balance itself much further
breaking and twisting something known as “Space- time” under
extreme force of gravity.
But why Black hole pulls everything to itself?
6. There is something which universe has to follow doesn’t
matter what type of object, size, color, weight etc. it have
which is Universal Law of Gravitation which states that
every object attracts another irrespective of their
distance. The greater the mass, the more force it will give
to pull you.
And also there is something known as Gravitational
Acceleration which explain that why you cant escape a
black hole. The gravitational acceleration of a average
Black hole is greater than the light speed which is the
highest speed of the universe!
Why you cant really escape a
c black hole
9. Hawking Radiation
The Inevitable death of black holes?
Like every other things in the universe like star, planets, galaxy and our own
planet itself are not eternal. Each have an end and so these monsters of the
universe do. But their death is very interesting process of quantum mechanics
and general relativity that they have named it on the surname of very famous
astrophysicist – Stephen Hawkings.
Before the discovery everyone used to thought that black holes are eternal
but they are not, Stephen hawking studied about that as energy is lost during
Action, same way black holes also lose energy in forms of radiation , In forms
of particles. In other words black holes can die but this process takes so
much time that calling it ‘forever’ is alright. Imagine such a monstrosity losing
only a small weight of a banana (or even less ) in a billion year. Though this
process gets faster with time but biggest of black holes might take 10^100
years to completely evaporate! Much, much, much longer than current age
of the universe which is only 13.8 Billion years!
10. We are a part of our great
universe trying to understand
another part which is full of more
mysteries and knowledge to
uncover
and this science is called
Astronomy.
