• Vasavi Saraswathi Padhakam was started in the
year 2004-05 with a aim of establishing Book
Banks through member clubs and provide Text
Books to the students of Intermediate and Higher
studies. The Book Banks should have a Project
Chairman to look after the registry and distribute
Books. The Book Banks will be financially assisted
by VCI upto 50% of the cost. More than 400+
Clubs have availed Matching Grant under Vasavi
Saraswathi Padhakam.

• PROCEEDURE :
• 1. Member clubs should advertise locally for regarding Book Banks.
• 2. Duly filled applications to be collected from students
• 3. Club President and Project Chairman must scrutinise the
applications and list the requirement of books.
• 4. Estimate to be taken from local book store for the requirement
• 5. Please forward before 15 days of re-opening of colleges along
with the following to VCI Office :
• a. Requirement list of Books (indent)
• b. Demand Draft of Rs. 5,000/-.
• c. Student's application forms CD or Photostat copies.

• DISTRIBUTION :
• 1. Clubs must organize a Book Distribution programme
and one IEC Officer must be invited compulsorily.
• 2. Photos/Press clippings of the programme to be sent
to VCI.
• BENEFITS :
• 1. The image of the Club will grow in student
beneficiary families.
• 2. Every year the books inventory will increase for the
club.
• 3. New Members will join the club.

• Clubs International will be granted only to
those Clubs who paid theirsubscriptions
before 31st. January, every year and sending
the CMR on time for the previous year.
