Learn how to read and write Japanese characters. You will learn how to write your name and greeting
cards in Japanese.
OUTSIDE THE GATE TOUR – AZALEA FESTIVAL IN SHICHINOHE
Date & time: 23 May, 0900 - 1500 (Children are allowed.)
Where to meet: A&FRC and carpool to Shichinohe Town.
Visit the Ten-no Shrine Azalea Festival, farmer’s markets and the Shichinohe Town Museum. Please
bring some yen. Transportation will be your own car.

KOMAKI ONSEN RESORT TOUR

Visit a beautiful indoor & outdoor hot bath, Japanese garden, picturesque lake, Nebuta festival
exhibition, & more. People come from all over Japan to visit this famous resort!
MISAWA CITIZEN’S FOREST AND TERAYAMA MUSEUM FESTIVAL
Date & time: 4 May, 1015-1400 (Children are allowed)
Where to meet: Misawa Inn Conference Room
Take a guided tour to the Terayama museum festival, Misawa citizen’s camping site, Lake Ogawara, a
Japanese restaurant, etc. Please bring some yen for your lunch.
FARMER’S MARKET & SHOPS AROUND THE MAIN GATE
Date & time: 16 May, 1000-1200 (Children are allowed)

Go shopping on a guided tour at a farmer’s market in the MG plaza. We also introduce you to souvenir
shops, antique shops, liquor shops etc. around the main gate.
JAPANESE COOKING CLASS – BENTO BOX MEAL
Date & time: 9 May, lunch time (1030-1230); 10 May, evening (1800-2000)
Where to meet: A&FRC kitchen (Torii Building) (Children are not allowed)
Learn from local professionals how to make Japanese lunch box meal. Attendees will actually
participate in the food preparation and cooking process. (cutting and cleaning etc. alongside the
instructors)
