1. Patricia M. Passaretti
Patricia Passaretti is an accomplished music publicist and artist manager. Having honed her writing skills as a publicist for musicians, artists and photographers, she has taken her writing to the next level by creating and writing her own blog which has reached thousands of readers from around the globe.
Patricia fell in love with music at an early age, given her first album, Michael Jackson’s Thriller at age seven. Her taste, influenced by her family, is eclectic and varies depending on her mood. “I remember my mom driving me to school in kindergarten and singing, “The Yellow Submarine” by the Beatles. My love of music was forever etched in stone in that moment,” she recalls fondly. She developed a true passion for rock and roll when her cool, 20-something hippie aunt took her to her first concert to see 80s hair rock band Bon Jovi in 1987, at the impressionable age of 12. That show sealed her fate as a lover of 80s rock and roll.
As her taste broadened through the years and she began expanding her horizons by taking Spanish classes in junior high, she discovered her true love: Latin music. Already a fan of Puerto Rican pop music group Menudo after seeing them perform on the then-popular television show, Silver Spoons, she was invited by a friend to attend the band’s concert for the Sons of Rock tour at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. It was following the show when they met several members of the group, where her affinity for the Latin music industry began.
These events would take her down a career path in public relations for musicians and artists, doing promotions for former Menudo members, Latin rock band Mundo Vacio, and her biggest success story, Puerto Rican recording artist Ignacio Peña. She has toured the Southwestern U.S., Florida and Puerto Rico in a van with Peña and his five-man band, taking them to the South by Southwest Music Festival, the Latin Alternative Music Conference, and a stop at LATV Live. She has garnered national and international media attention for Peña and Austin-based rock band bletzung.
Patricia has traveled around the country, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Among her favorite spots are Puerto Rico, Bermuda and New York City. She has had the opportunity to see a wide range of artists perform, having attended hundreds of concerts including Ricky Martin, Julieta Venegas, Oasis, Coldplay, Gladys Knight and her favorite rock band, The Fray. “I count my blessings for all the amazing artists I’ve had the luxury of seeing and meeting over the years, many of them simply because I work in the industry,” she notes.
Patricia is an avid healthy lifestyle-advocate including diet, exercise and spirituality. She loves to travel, read, and spend time with her family and friends. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Radio, Television and Film with a minor in Journalism. She currently lives in San Jose, California, where she continues her work doing publicity and attaining sponsorships for The Great Planet Earth Debate, Peña’s educational concert series.
