1. Fanny Casaretto
Musical Resume & Bio
Life Experience:
Fanny Casaretto, a Latin vocalist / songwriter who was born and raised in
Lima-Perú, South America decided to start a path to pursue her musical career at an earlier age.
Although, she devoted her time to music; school was very important for her. Fanny, was a very
successful student who used to take part of most of the activities at the school auditorium. having
performed in public events, showcases and private parties among family and friends. While still
a teenager she participated on search talent shows, on local radio & TV broadcasting systems and
other musical competitions as well. By the time she had finished high school, and ready to start a
musical production; her family decided to leave the country and come to America to start a new
life. However; the sudden change from one place to another was not so good for her musical
needs and she decided to quit temporarily. The idea of ever becoming a songwriter was so
distant. Not worth mentioning, it was not even on her mind, she was not aware of the talent she
had; besides that she had already lost interest in music. When she decided to get married and
start her own family, her life completely changed because of marriage and the responsibilities
that come along with being a wife and a mother. She could not continue the project she had
begun and let the time and opportunities pass by without interest. However, it was the passion
she had for music that practically forced her to take a decision that would change her personal
and artistic lifestyle. Once again willing to struggle for her ideals; she had deeply grown inside
herself since she was a little girl. Although a chapter of her life had just ended, another one had
just begun. Bad experiences turned out to be good experiences and finally, she became a strong
woman with a well-defined personality. This was the beginning of her songwriting career.
Fanny Casaretto, who has resided in New York City more than decade,
expresses her thoughts and ideas in English and Spanish or a combination of both better known
as Span-English. This temperamental songwriter totally disagrees with the idea that some
Latinos are macho men prototype and women have no other choice, but to face this reality.
Because of this reason, she has the tendency to diminish men self-esteem, projecting herself as a
feminist leader.
2. Fanny, has a particular way to create lyrics and melodies and the contents of her songs with the
style and the concept that identifies and fits her strong personality. Her Latin roots influenced on
her ability to create and write up controversial and well-defined type of songs. Most of her
inspirations are a true-life story and others reflect the social -cultural, economic, and political
situations of today's trends of life. As a vocalist and songwriter, she had performances on Latin
nightclubs such as "Chibcha", "La Choza Grill" and "Desiree" in New York, Washington
and Miami respectively. These places, which are well known by the Latino audience welcomed
Fanny and her band. The elements of the band were piano, saxophone, bass and percussion
having a blind pianist on her staff, who acted as the musical director. As a demonstration of her
art, she presented an original tune named "Mejor Amante Que Esposa" (It's better to be a
lover than a wife) on her last tour to the Dominican Republic. The “Techno-Cumbia" song
caused a great deal of controversy when played on the radio, in conjunction with a talk show for
lovers and wives. The content of the song explores the relationship between two close friends
when one is found to be sleeping with the other's husband. Frank Valiente who also resides in
New York City was the musical arranger and producer of this CD as well. All lyrics and
melodies belong to Fanny and Megalite Publishing and are copyrighted reserved in The
Copyright Office, US Library of Congress, Washington DC. While on tour she performed at
"Guacarataína" a well-known nightclub visited by many tourists because of its unique
architecture; she was invited by Federico Fermín, the owner to produce the video on the
premises. Finally she performed live on various musical television shows, including "Good
