Matter is anything that has mass and occupies space.
There are three states of matter.
● SOLID: Solid has definite shape and definite volume.
● LIQUID:Liquid has a definite volume but no definite
shape.
● GAS: Gas has neither definite shape nor definite
volume.

4. KINETIC MOLECULAR THEORY
● Matter is made up of small particles called
molecules.
● They are always in motion.
● The three states of matter depend upon their
arrangements of particles.

5. INTERCONVERSION OF THREE STATES
● SUBLIMATION:It is a process in which solid
is directly converted into gas without
undergoing liquid state.

6. MELTING AND BOILING POINT
MELTING POINT:The temperature at which
solis starts melting.
BOILING POINT:The temperature at which
liquid starts boiling.

7. FUSION & EVAPORATION
FUSION:Conversion of solid into liquid state.
EVAPORATION:Conversion of liquid into gas
without heating.

8. FREEZING POINT & VAPOURIZATION
FREEZING POINT:The temperature at which
liquid starts freezing.
VAPOURIZATION:Conversion of liquid into
gas.
