3. Introduction
The Cradle-to-Cradle team has been collaborating on action
plans in order to complete necessary tasks for our Recyclable
Poster Contest for the Normandin Middle School in New
Bedford. Although we have faced several obstacles, these
outcomes have led to new ideas and strategies for our final
project. We plan to complete a successful project,
acknowledging the students for their hard work. The Cradle-toCradle team has to complete a number of tasks before the
deadline and will do so by working side by side effectively.

4. Completed Tasks
Made contact with Darcie Aungst, Facilitator of student supports at Normandin Middle School.
Met with Darcie Aungst and established a plan on how kids will be able to complete posters at
school.
Established that we will be allowing all grades of Normandin Middle School to
participate in contest.
Established a time line of when kids will be able to work on posters as well as when they are
due by.
Met with Kerri, Director of Arts and Marissa for innovative ideas on how to grade the posters.
Contacted Lee Heald, Director of AHA night. Set up a location for our Cradle to Cradle table
to display our poster finalists.
Collaborated with Lee Heald and have been put on the map for AHA night as a children’s
activity.
Established a children’s activity: arts and crafts with recycled material; bottles, cardboard, etc.
Completed/edited numerous wiki pages.
Created grading guidelines for poster contest that have been given to teachers.
Created a video about the contest to better explain our projects to the students and teachers.
Collected prizes for the finalists.

6. Problems Faced
Collaborating with schools in the beginning of our project.
Deciding who was going to participate and how/when.
Getting prizes from organizations
Gaining quick feedback from our community partners; schools
& businesses.
Time allocated to students during school hours. (MCAS criteria
has been a major factor in this problem)
Funding for extra costs in our project such as prizes.
Understanding our wiki to a full extent.
Balancing our individual school schedules with time to
complete tasks.

7. Community Partner Assistance
With
the completion of the final steps of our project,
we will partnering with AHA night on Thursday,
November 14th. We will be providing:
The top ten student posters for the three top winners
Showcasing Cradle-to-Cradle’s mission and
sustainability awareness
Incorporating a fun, recyclable arts & crafts game

8. Conclusion
Although
we have completed a plentiful amount of
our project, we still have many steps to complete
within our timeline.
Delegating tasks by completing our to-do list will
result in our projected goals.
Our team plans to guide younger generations into a
sustainable way of thinking and behaving in hopes to
positively impact our local community.
