1. 3105150911860Report Bromsgrove International Home Computer Survey Prawta 9A Introduction This survey was made to find out about Bromsgrove students home computer use. To find out how much they know about software and operating systems. This survey can also help teachers see if they can send online homework and if it will actually be done. The survey also asks what the students think should be improved in ICT which lets teachers get a view of what the students want out of the lesson. The Bromsgrove survey was done on Google forms and given to year 9 and 10 to fill out. Summary I thought the most interesting question was the one that asked what the students of Bromsgrove spend most of their time on the computer doing. The results were also interesting because only 5 students use the time on their computer for doing homework while 14 spend most of their time chatting. Main Content The data collected also shows that in year 9 there are only 10 people who have their own computers, while in year 10, 18 people have their own computers. This shows that it will be easier to give year 10 homework than year 9. Do you have your own computer? This information shows that borders have less access to a computer than day students. Only 2 day students have a problem with access to a computer, while 15 borders have no access. Do you have internet access outside of school time? Have you ever been a victim on online bullying?Year 9’s results show that 5 students have been a victim of online bullying, 8 have not and 1 is not sure. Still, it shows that there are still a number of kids who have been hurt online and that is never good. Do you have a memory stick? This collected data shows how many students in year 10 have a memory stick out of 19. As you can see, 15 students in year 10 have a memory stick, 3 have not, and one student lost theirs. Giving year 10 homework to save on their memory stick would be quite easy. Conclusion I conclude by looking at the graphs and results that giving homework by mail would not be a good idea, since a lot of the students have problems with getting access to a computer. Giving work by memory stick is efficient but a lot of excuses can be made to get away with not doing the work. Maybe sending an email to the student’s parents or head of boarding so they can make sure work is done and find a way to let the students have access to a computer. Looking at the third graph results, I think that the head of boarding should maybe think about installing a few more computers in the two boarding houses and make sure the internet is always accessible to the students in boarding. I think at least one ICT room should also be accessible to student at lunch time too. As the results in the fourth graph shows that there are still kids being cyber bullied. I think the student council and ICT helpers should seriously do something about this fast. There shouldn’t be any bulling online going on at all to make this a good and safe school.
