and adjectives.

(postmodification). Adverb phrases have

We use adverb phrases most commonly to
modify verbs.
*Children grow up really quickly.
*I exercise very regularly and I eat quite
healthily

We use adverb phrases with be. This is
especially typical of adverbs of place:
* I’m upstairs. I’ll only be a minute.
* Your gloves are right there, on the table

We use adverb phrases (adv) to modify
adjectives and other adverbs:
* I found it extremely difficult to talk to her .
Adv. Modifies Adj.
* He drives really carefully. Adv. Modifies Adv.

12. The Adverb phrase in Arabic is either
adverb of place or time. They consists of one
or more words. The adverb is the head of the
phrase and a noun.
*صالح سافرالجمعة يوم.
*هللا عبد وقفالمنزل أمام.
13. Similar to the English language the Phrase
in Arabic الجملة شبة is a group of words that
stand together as a single unit, typically as
part of a clause or a sentence.
The adverbs are used to modify verbs.
They can be adverbs of place, time, manner.
مساء االجتماع عقد
The meeting was held in the evening.
14. The adverb in the adverb phrase is strongly
bound to the verb in the sentence (التعلق)
- The adverb phrase can occur in the
equational sentence االسمية الجملة as the
predicate الجملة خبر Although this type of
sentences is a verb less the adverb phrase is
usually bounded to an embedded verb.

- Here the verb is كائن/موجود (is) but its could
be understood from the sentence meaning.
15. The adverb phrase could also be in the
verbal sentence that has subject and verb
and here also it is bounded to the verb in the
sentence.
وقفصالحالمنزل أمام.
stood in front of the house is bounded to the
verb stood
