A Reflection On The Classroom
Our lesson began with our scenario, "own a theme park and heard that you guys could help us create
a waterslide. Our waterslide needs to be fast and fun, but also safe. People can't get injured while
sliding and must make it to the bottom of the pool." Students were shown the video that gave them
different examples of waterslides to help spark their personal connections and background
knowledge. During the video students laughed and commented about the twists and turns. They
were shown their materials and the constraints were explained to them. Such as they only had a
certain amount of time, they only had so many materials, it needed to be safe, it needed to look like
a slide, etc. The students were excited to get started and once they ... Show more content on

I ended the group discussion reminding students that as an engineer, asking the client what they
want is essential. For example, none of the groups knew that our theme parks color scheme was
orange and blue. We discussed what sort of changes we would make now that we'd done the lesson
once, and finally I asked, "so, who wants to be an Engineer when they grow up?" A few students,
grinning wildly, raised their hands. During the planning process, I observed different strengths
students brought to the task. For example, while handing out the jobs, there were some students who
clearly took charge. They grabbed hold of the Director's job badge and looked up, asking if their
group was okay with that. For the ones who didn't end up in an argument, the Director then led the
group in deciding who would get the other jobs. When one student heard that the Scribe would also
be drawing a design, they gasped loudly and reached for that badge. Allowing the students to assess
their own strengths and choose their own jobs gave them a chance to strive towards being
responsible enough for their job. Also during the planning process, students learned how to work
together, creating plans that meshed instead of their own individual plans. For the groups that were
having a hard time working together, the time constraints seemed to be a factor that pushed them
into cooperation

Explain Why It Is Not Safe For Teens Sail Alone
Have you ever seen somebody sail out onto the water? Do you want to do it yourself, but by
yourself? Well, this argument might make you think differently. It is not safe for teens to sail alone
for three major reasons. First, they could die. Second, they could get lost. Third, they could become
stranded. Read on to learn more. The first reason is that teens could die. There are a lot of ways this
could happen, like running out of food and water, drowning, or a shark may eat them. In the article
Annapolis girl, 14, dies after boat capsizes during sailing camp, A teenage girl dies when she got
tangled in something. Since the adults are not there, the teens would panic, and that would make the
situation worse. Also, if a teen does die, he or

Short Story : The Disney Dream
"Hurry up! We're going to miss the boat!," Sonali yelled back to her mom and dad who were
running behind her in the hot Florida sun. As she was running, pulling her 1,000 pound suitcase and
carrying a bulging green backpack, she caught a whiff of the ocean which smelled like a sewer.
Dripping with sweat and tired from what seemed like an eternity of running down the mile long
dock, they made it onto the boat just in time. The crew welcomed them by announcing "The Disney
Dream welcomes the Ciolino Family." After they checked into the room and unpacked, Sonali
suggested they take a tour of the enormous cruise ship and cool off with a frosty mug of lemonade.
"We should check out the opening concert on the upper deck and see everything that there is to do
on the boat." Sonali's parents agreed with her and they made their way to the upper deck. The deck it
smelled like chlorine from the pools and warm homemade chocolate chip cookies the size of
frisbees. The cool sea breeze was refreshing and was making the ornate streamers and balloons
dance in the sky. All of a sudden there was a loud explosion and it began raining rainbow colored
confetti all over us and the music started blaring "Party in the U.S.A." by Miley Cyrus, as the entire
cast of Disney characters flooded the dance floor that magically appeared over the olympic sized
pool on the deck. It was a giant party and, Sonali and her parents had a blast. Before they knew it, it
was almost midnight and they all crawled back

Descriptive Essay
"Ugh. It's just so hot! I can't do anything it's so hot," I groaned. Mika looked over at me and
mirrored the annoyed expression that I realized was on my face. I quickly wiped away the
expression and tried for something a little nicer. After a bit I just gave up and lay down on the
cement floor of our living room. It was cooler down there so it gave a moment of relief. The floor
started to warm up where I lay though, so I had to keep moving from place to place so I wouldn't
start to sweat too much.
It was October of 2014. Towards the end of the year was always the most miserable time for
everyone. It was just before the rains came, so it was very hot and unbearably humid. During the
worst days, I couldn't bring myself to do much. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When it began to dump lots of rain every day, our back yard would turn into a mud bath. You
couldn't walk outside without slipping, sliding or sticking in the mud. Some people might think this
very inconvenient, but Mika, Gabe, Tessa, and I quickly realized how great it could be.
During that time, the termite hills in our yard turned into a giant playground of fun. The top layer of
clay became muddy and slippery, which gave me one of my best ideas, probably to this day.
I gasped in amazement at the brilliance of the idea that had just popped into my head. "Guys," I said.
"Lets slide down the hill!"
At first we tried a few different techniques in an attempt to keep our clothes clean enough to wear
another time in the future. We tried sitting on plastic bags, planks of wood and many other objects,
but that didn't end up working out as well as we planned. Whatever we were sitting on always ended
up slipping out from underneath us.
Eventually we just forgot about all of that and decided it didn't matter that much if our clothes got
ruined. So we struggled up the hills, trying not to slip and slide all the way down before we reached
the top.
Once we got to the summit, we chose the best path to slide down that wasn't blocked by trees,
bushes, or rocks. We then seated ourselves in the mud at the top of the mound, gave ourselves a little
push, and slid down the runway. It was a thrilling moment of

Using A Compound Microscope Lab Report

Using a Compound Microscope Lab Report E Period
Abstract
The purpose of this lab is to learn about the parts and uses of a compound microscope. It is also to
learn how to properly use and take care of the microscope. This lab showed me what materials and
parts of the microscope I should use when examining an object.
Introduction
The microscope was invented by a father and son, Hans and Zaccharias Janssen. They were once
looking at the lens of a magnifying glass and decided to put the lenses in a tube. When they looked
through the tube, they noticed that the object underneath the magnifying lenses, was enlarged. That
was the first invention of the compound microscope. Overtime, more advancements and
improvements were made by other scientists to this microscope (1. microscope–microscope.org). A
scientist that contributed to the cell theory is Robert Hooke. Robert Hooke was the first person to
use the word "cell" to describe the basic unit of life. He was also known for his observations of
thinly sliced cork. Robert Brown contributed to the cell theory by discovering the nucleus of a plant
cell (2. brighthub.com). The scientist Schleiden, made the statement about cells that all plant tissues
were made up of cells and that cells are the basic building blocks of all plants. Schwann discovered
that both plants and animals are made up of cells.

Negative Speech : The Effects Of Violent Entertainment...
The Effects of Violent Entertainment
I enjoyed the depth of this presentation. Not only did this team present first (meaning they had no
reference for the format of their presentation), but also this presentation followed a concise train of
thought that led to the ultimate conclusion. A few examples were used from media in order to
portray your topic. It's understandable that each speaker wanted to discuss their own media example
since each presenter talked about a different entertainment median. However, given that the time
constraint for this project was only eight minutes, multiple media examples can certainly be costly.
Thus, I'd suggest perhaps cutting down on the description of these media examples, or even
eliminating one in order to meet the time limit. As I recall, the presentation was over by around four
minutes. Another thing worth noting would be to cut down on the information provided on each
slide. By using less information on the slide and expanding upon your bullets you'll be able to
demonstrate a wealthier knowledge in the subject area without doing any extra work. Lastly, it's
easy to tell that a lot of work was put into this presentation. The slides are well thought out and there
is plenty of statistical evidence to backup your claims. Ensure that for future presentations, everyone
within the group spends a little time polishing down the slides to their core representations. I believe
everyone spoke clearly and the covering of the topic was

Report On Control Testing Results Essay
Control Testing Results (Slides 4 – 8) (CAP Slides 81 – 102)
Overall Comments
 DLA's control testing results does not identify a time period for when the controls were assessed.
 The document does not identify which controls were assessed for the various assessable units.
 Work products for the assessable units (referenced below) will be provided to FIAR the week of
9/28/15 with Group 8 document submission.
 Although the control failures are similar to what we've seen in previous SBA and Inventory
assertion packages, we are unable to specifically identify the controls that were assessed by DLA.
 There were a total number of 80 key controls for the FRR assessable units (Trial Balance
Management/ Invoice to Disbursement/ Billing to Collections) – 56 of which were tested to date.
FIAR will need to determine if the controls were unique to each assessable unit and when DLA
plans to test the 24 remaining controls.
 It appears that assessable unit, Inventory Transaction Reporting, was formerly titled,
P2S_PCM13=NEIQ Perform Inventory Management – IRM. If in fact the process was renamed
during the PCM consolidation process, there were several process and control gaps identified within
the former PCM. FIAR needs to determine if the gaps, previously identified, are being remediated
by the agency and tracked by CAP documentation.

How To Write A Defining Moment Essay
It was a sunny April afternoon. I was at the small, but beautiful green park that looked like one you
would see in movies. I was with my friend and my brother. I was just being my 7 year old second
grade self when life decided to throw a curveball at me. We were playing tag, and my friend was it. I
was sitting at the top of the slide that I had been told many times to be careful on. My brother was
hiding in the little dirt hole at the end of the grey metal slide that was rusting underneath. Thinking

"Hey I see you up there!" she shouted climbing faster and faster and getting closer and closer.
"No you don't," I giggled. Then I turned around and began to lift my leg back onto the slide when I
felt a push and my friend saying "Tag! You're it" and felt myself slip over the edge. From what felt

Essay about Narrative- Water Slide Experience
Narrative– Water Slide Experience
I was so excited. I could hardly breathe through the hour drive it took to get there. I was squished
between my two ten–year–old best friends in the back seat of a white Saturn, but I didn't care. I was
practicing over and over in my head what I was going to say to all the smart–alecky adults who
would tell me I was too young to ride the water slides. I was simply going to reply, "Actually I'm
ten, going on eleven."
On the right of me sat the girl I met in preschool, the swimmer who was named after a state like me:
Tennessee. She was the observant artist. She sat there holding a deck of cards, trying to find all the
queens. I could tell she was nervous. Her hands were sweating. The cards were damp ... Show more

We are all exact triposites, if there's any such thing.
I was so nervous and excited at the same time that I practically leaped out of the car with my Gap
backpack and my Wal–Mart towel flying behind me. I could hear the screaming and crying of
children.
After we went through the long line to pay and put on a whole tube of sunscreen, we were ready to
have some real fun. We wandered around trying to find the perfect ride.
Tennessee and I had decided on the water gym when Anna suddenly stopped short. She pointed way
up in the air. Our eyes slowly followed her finger. Through our ten–year old eyes we saw what
looked like the scariest ride in the entire world. It was a 50–foot tall, sky blue slide that went straight
down into a giant pool of deep dark water.
Anna looked around and smiled. Her short brown hair jumped and fell each time she took a long
stride. Her brown eyes twinkled as she walked to the slide. She seemed so proud about being brave
and daring to walk up to "The Death Slide." Tennessee and I felt embarrassed that a girl six months
younger than we were was going to ride it while we were going to play on the water gym. But
Tennessee and I had a plan to cover up our embarrassment. We were going to act like we were going
to ride The Death Slide, and then, at the last minute, say we forgot something and wait at the bottom
for Anna.
As we stood in line, slowly approaching the 50–foot ladder I tried to gather up my strength and

Short Story Of My Story
"Where are you? For the love of God, I've been waiting for almost an hour already!" Eunah yelled
through the phone as the man he was talking to only laughed apologetically.
"I just woke up late. I'm sorry, okay? I'll buy you doughnuts," Jungkook bribed his best friend as he
knew her undying love for doughnuts.
"Make it a dozen, you prick."
–
Age 12
Eunah met Jungkook through her cousin Yuki. Jungkook happened to be Yuki's cousin as well.
Eunah was Yuki's third cousin – Yuki's mother and Eunah's mother were cousins. Eunah was her
cousin from her mother side and Jungkook from her father side. Having lived literally right next
door to Yuki, they naturally became childhood best friends aside from being blood–related. During
the weekends, Yuki's parents drove them down a couple of streets away to spend time with their
other relatives. It was one fateful day when Eunah got asked if she wanted to go with them and meet
new kids. She couldn't say no to that as she wanted more friends. That was when Jungkook and
Eunah met at the age of twelve.
It was during Yuki's last summer in the country before they moved to Japan that Eunah had spent
every single night with Yuki and her other cousins down at Jungkook's place. Being kids and new to
the whole area of liking the opposite gender, Eunah developed a crush on Jungkook and she was in
absolute bliss although she didn't tell anyone about her crush. Jungkook was the short, smart and sly
little kid that she grew to like. She liked his smile

Mental Health Essay
Overall feedback
MightSight was an interesting disruptive idea. The mental health market is growing and is
continuing to be a hot topic, an app that places control in the hands of the customer sounds viable.
Group 37 made it clear how Millennials would feel about their data being available on mobile, but I
would have been interested to understand how Group 37 would have overcome the obstacle, via
their branding, about how people would feel about being implanted with a chip.
What went well?
● I felt a clear gap in the market was identified for a personalised mental health App, however,
supported evidence was lacking and would be been helpful.
● It was clear that the app would disrupt the market, giving customers control their own ... Show

It was a shame they were presented without narration, as I felt they could have made some
substantial claims about how the App would match John and Marie's requirements. Marie's persona
mentioned that she never had the time to go see a psychiatrist, however, for the chip to be implanted
in the customer they would need to find time to see their physician. I think these challenges could
have been covered if the slide would have been narrated.
● Early adopters were depicted in the Business Model Canvas, but it would have been great to hear
why Medical Students and 'young music and sports stars' would have taken to the App and why they
would have been advocates of the business.
● As specified in the proposal, narration wasn't recorded over every single slide.
● The brand mission and purpose were unique, but I felt it would have been interesting to
understand how MindSight would have been positioned and would appeal to the target audience,
creating an authentic experience. The slide was cut off at the end, which again was a shame as I
wanted to hear more.
How could this have been improved?
● More supporting evidence about how the App would disrupt the market would have made the
proposal more compelling.
● I liked the idea of the content marketing strategy, I could how the videos of the personas would be
engaging. It would have been great to see some more examples of the social content with an

Narrative Essay On A Water Slide
Ahhh! Swoosh! I feel like I'm going to fall off this terrifying water slide. What did I put myself into?
During the ride I went around in circles at least 5 times, my mind was spinning. After that hair–
raising moment, I knew that today was going to be a day filled with adventure! Then, my family and
I went to Hershey Park as a birthday gift for me. At the entrance, I saw an enormous light blue and
bright yellow water slide that almost looked like half of a tornado. It was a really hot day, the
temperature was almost 87 degrees. We walked over to the water section, and I was amazed how big
it was, It was like a pool with water slides for gods. My brother told me right away, "We must go on
that slide," and that was the moment I knew I would go on that gigantic water slide, I was relieved
because I desperately needed a something to refresh myself, and I was scared. When I was waiting
in–line I went up so many stairs, which took a while. Finally, I was where the slide started, My
brother's back was facing the slide and I was facing the slide on the tube. "Shahan, are you ready? "
My brother asked me, I said, "No," then the slide started. When you first went down the ride it was
dark and there were scary turns, then you make a big drop and start to spin, when I was spinning in
midair I was so scared. My heart started beating really fast, then I realized that my brother and I
weren't even close to being done with the water slide. Then, the next day I went on a roller coaster

In our case, the ethical issue was the fact that the patient is homeless and has a very limited support

Childhood In The Liars Club, By Mary Karr
After reading The Liars Club an autobiography by Mary Karr, my interpretation of the reading is
that she is telling her story from her point of view as a child and as an adult, utilizing foreshadowing
and vivid imagery. For example, the reading states "My sharpest memory is of a single instant
surrounded by dark." "I was seven, and our family doctor knelt before me where I sat on a mattress
on the bare floor" (Karr 3). This passage also brought some significance to the story as discussed in
class. This helps the reader to understand that a very young age Mary Karr experienced something
that was traumatic and it as stuck with her, therefore she labeled is one of her sharpest childhood
memories. Usually when things happen to us as children we are not able to remember them exactly
in detail, but when they are traumatic events those memories tend to stick with us throughout life.
While writing Karr takes the role of two characters, those include the character "Pokey". In the story
this is a representation of Mary Karr a child. Her father Pete calls her Pokey. During this time frame
Mary isn't too aware of what is happening to her, she admires her father, and is also of her sisters. As
I continued to read the story the next character that Mary Karr takes on is the narrator or author. This
is referenced throughout the story when she looks back on her childhood to try and understand what
was happening to her. A good example of this is when the author uses breaking of the fourth

My Father Reflection Paper
1. I believe the bond between a father and a daughter is one that is extremely important in the
development of a young girl. 2. The goal of a father should be to become a male role model, and
exemplify all the exceptional qualities he would like his own child to portray in the future. 3. I
remember being impressed by my dad as a child. 4. He worked hard, he was in perfect shape, and he
always seemed to be happy. 5. My dad and I are very similar, we are stubborn, independent, and
hardworking. 6. We both take practical approaches to life and like to get things done efficiently. In
this way we can connect. 7. My dad has always been extremely firm in his beliefs, and once he
believes something it is nearly impossible to shake him. 8. Overtime, I have noticed that the way he
lives, has shaped me into the person I am today. 9. Although there are several stories I could share
about the impact my father has had on my life, three come to mind that showcase how he taught me
to be brave, never give up, and that practice truly does make perfect. 10. "No, I don't want to, I
can't" I cried while peering down at the sinister waters below me. I was overcome with fear as I sat
five stories up on a waterslide that ventured through a tunnel surrounded by sharks. 11. I felt the
intense heat of the Bahamas and the sun beating down on my back as I contemplated whether or not
I would go down the slide that seemed to be a death trap. 12. My dad stood behind me, ready to ride
the slide, and said "C'mon McKenna, you can do this". 13. Sharks are my biggest fear and my dad
knew it, yet still out of all the other water slide options our resort had to offer he chose that one. 14.
As the line behind us grew, and the lifeguard in front of me became impatient, I swallowed my pride
and decided to go for it. 15. "Okay, fine." I said begrudgingly. 16. I sat in the inner tube with my
dad, and began the journey down the pitch black slide. 17. I still remember my heart beating fast as
we twisted and turned all the way down, then finally it came to an end and our tube flowed into a
glass tank surrounded by massive sharks. 18. At first I was terrified, and was preparing for my life to

Different Types Of Fibers And The Distinguishing...
Introduction The purpose of this lab was to learn about the different types of fibers and the
distinguishing characteristics of used to identify them. Natural fibers and man–made fibers were
examined in this lab. The fibers tested were part of a multi–fiber fabric with the following
arrangement: Acetate
Cotton
Nylon
Silk
Viscose (Rayon)
Wool
The first lab activity was to observe and record the characteristics of each of these fibers through a
stain test, a microscope test, a solvent test, and a burn test. The second lab activity was to observe
the characteristics of an unknown fiber thread and to identify the fiber by comparing its
characteristics to the data from the first activity. The burn test is used to observe the reaction of a ...

Step 4: Ignite the end of the thread, and then remove it from the flame. Note how the fibers burn,
any noticeable odors, and any extinguishing characteristics.
Step 5: After the flame has extinguished on the fiber, examine any remaining ash/residue. Note the
color, form, and texture.
Step 6: Record observations.
Step 7: Repeat steps 1–6 for each fiber in the multi–fiber fabric.
Solvent Test
Step 1: Place 18 test tubes in the test tube rack in three sets of six.
Step 2: Use a sharpie to label the test tubes in one set A1–A6, the next set H1–H6, and the last set
S1–S6.
Step 3: Use forceps to obtain one thread of acetate from the multi–fiber fabric.

Understanding The Concept Of Division
The purpose of this lesson is to introduce the students to the concept of division. This will be
somewhat of a review for the students who have had practice with division in past grade levels. It
has been a long time since the students have had any practice with division, so this lesson will serve
an introduction to the meaning of division, division vocabulary, as well as its relationship to
multiplication. Students will be introduced to fact families as a way to show the connection between
multiplication and division. The students will be able to see the relationship between a concept they
have had a lot of practice with (multiplication), to a concept that might be new to them (division).
Common Core State Standards:
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.5.NBT.B.6: Find whole–number quotients of whole numbers with up to
four–digit dividends and two–digit divisors, using strategies based on place value, the properties of
operations, and/or the relationship between multiplication and division. Illustrate and explain the
calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
Student Learning Objective:
Students will demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between multiplication and division
through verbal and written communication.
Goals/Objectives of Lesson: What do you hope for/expect?
Before this lesson: Students will complete a written pre–assessment on division concepts using their
prior knowledge.

My Vacation In Life
The feel of the hot sun beating down on my forehead. The sound of people cheering and chatting.
The taste of the delicious sample of fudge that I was just given from a small shop. I come across a
huge billboard in bold blue letters. Where am I? I have just arrived in Branson, Missouri, where my
family and I plan to have an amazing vacation away from home. To arrive in Branson, we first had
to drive down to Missouri in my mom's silver van. As it was my parents, my three brothers, and me,
the car was very crowded with all of our belongings that we needed for the trip crammed into the car
with us. During the long and arduous car ride that dragged on for hours and hours, we figured out all
of the activities that we hope to attend throughout the week of our trip. After discussing all of our
plans, we decide that we will go to Silver Dollar City, which is an amusement park, a waterpark
called White Water, and many stores including Branson's Landing, Tanger Outlets and the Five and
Dimes store. My dad is very organized, and he is also a perfectionist. He takes out a yellow lined
notebook and writes down a list of everything we are going to do for each day of the four–day–long
vacation. As he finishes, we finally arrive in Branson, so we quickly check in, grab our room keys,
and take all of our belongings up to our room. In my opinion, I believe that unpacking everything
and taking it up the five flights of stairs where our room is located is the worst part of the

Research Paper: Is It Safe For Teenagers
Is it safe for teens to sail? There is a question in many peoples minds "Is it safe for teens to sail?"
The debate is on whether teens should be able to sail without adult supervision. There have been
cases in which teens have drifted off to sea or their boat capsized and were stuck in the netting
underwater. But there are cases in which they have been successful. It could go either way.It is not
safe for teens to be sailing without parent supervision because even the most experienced teen can
still have unexpected asccidenct just as much and freguently as the inexperienced sailore. It has been
successful in some cases but in many cases it hasn't In the article "Marine experts say missing Fla.
teenagers should not have been alone offshore" it says that 2 teenage boys were fishing and drifted
off into the ocean. Their parents said they learned to swim before they could walk. This wasn't new
to the 2 teenage boys. This shows even the most experienced teens can have the worst of luck while
sailing. The boat of the the teens washed up at shore but there are no sign of the 2 boys. Sailing has

Who I Am I
"I can not make people like me. All I can do is show them who I am , how I feel, and what I believe.
"It is up to them to understand my worth" ,Makayla. What makes me who I am today? Family,
friends, and the sports I play had had always been apart of my life therefore had an effect on the
person I'm am today. To my personality, the way I act and even dress. It's just whom I am. Family is
such an important aspect in many people's lives, especially mine. I just love to spend time with them
(family) since a young age.I had many adventures that I can say we did as a family and those
adventures had influence my personality. For example, we all took a family vacation to together up
to resort in the mountains. During the summer months for a week . I just turned six and I remember
this adventure very vividly till this very day. It was a blast up there and a great experience to have.
We did a lot of activities that involved animals. For instance, we went horseback riding, feed
mountain goats before they chased us for more food. Also we went exploring through the woods to
find plants/ flowers. That's why my love for animals and nature is so strong and is embedded into
my personality. There also was a waterpark (indoor/outdoors). It was very nice and spacious with
fantastic slides. The slides were really frightening to me they look so enormous and giant, remember
was only six years old at that time. So I was very cautious to go on the slides. After staring at them

Analysis Of Dm Slides
We used Sam S. to represent "cool" in our advertisement. He is wearing a tank top and is the only
one in the hallway wearing the DM Slides. He could be seen as the trendsetter of the school. Sam K.
notices this in the first scene of the ad. One common fear of HPHS students is not "fitting in". I
believe that this is a shared fear because people fear not having any friends and being outside of the
"in" crowd. If people think that what they're wearing is no longer in style and new fashion styles are
being brought in, they will likely follow these trends as a desperate attempt to assure their social
status and become once again a desirable member of society.
If you do not fit in, you will be weird. If you are weird then you are not desirable ... Show more

For example, the commons are a place where "cool" people eat lunch with a clean glass window
making it very easy to see who is sitting in there. So if cool people wear our slides, the insecure
students striving to be like the confident kids in the commons have something to improve on, their
shoes. As a marketing strategy it could be very beneficial towards our brand to provide DM Slides to
kids sitting in the commons for a cheaper price, or even free to promote the quantity of "cool" kids
wearing them. This will result in a trickle down effect that is seen throughout all clothing phases; the
trendsetters set, and everyone else consumes. Throughout my 4 years at HPHS we have observed
that popularity and the high school standard of "happiness" revolves around a very unique cycle.
This consists of the logic that if "higher up" people like you, you get to sit in the commons, and as a
result, boys and especially girls (from a boy's perspective), will notice you. This brings up the
opposing philosophy that if you are not constantly noticed you lose value/popularity. The cool kids,
although may be very insecure personally, surround themselves with other confident kids to hide
their individuality. By branding our slides to represent the newest trend of cool, students who feel
they are on the cusp of being cool can now finally get their big break. Our product's clever name
evokes a mixture of emotions from our audience. DM Slides is a play off of the term "DM's" which
is a pop culture abbreviation for Direct Messages, which is what you use to contact your desired
lover. Slide is a new common pop culture term used to represent going forth and messaging the
person. For example, Keith slid into Ashley's DM's last night. Indirectly, our advertisement and
brand allows you to be "cool", and as we've regarded already, cool people impress YOUR lovers. If

Soccer On The East Coast
It has been said that when one gets injured, one never realizes it until you look at the wounded body
part. No statement is more genuine than that. An individual forgets the details of how they got
injured. The if, how, and whys are only noticed later on when you look back and analyze what had
occurred. More often than not, a lot of different things are to blame. Could it be the slip and slide,
the angle, or just a personal mistake? For some reason, I believe it was the first one, and that could
explain why I'm scared of slip and slides.
You must be asking yourself "what could have possibly happened that led to this erratic fear of slip
and slides?"
Soccer on the East coast is an enormous spectacle. Like football in the south and basketball in
Indiana, soccer in the fall is an attraction that closes towns and turns neighboring schools into blood
rivals. Conditioning begins in June, but the real season doesn't start until the third week of August
when first week commences. First week of practice is the most challenging and fulfilling.
Friendships that last all season, as well as team foundations, develop that first week. That first week
defines your season before you complete a pass or attempt a shot.
The first week is unmerciful. Three or four–hour practices, two a days; the heat makes you question
your decision to play every minute of every day. That last Friday practice, however, always ends on
a softer note. The team pickup game, ice bath, slip and slide, and a bonfire

Every year, a certain event takes place that is just as important to my family and I as Christmas,

exists. A five day festival held the first week in August in a small town along the North Shore. In
2015, this little town in the upper northeast region of Minnesota was named "America's Coolest
Small Town," by Budget Travel. This small town is known as Grand Marais and is home to around
1,341 people. In the 1930s, Grand Marais was a small village with a primary focus on logging and
commercial fishing. Many of the community members in this small village decided to gather
together for a shoreline picnic as a way to get to know one another and have a good time. This
shoreline picnic is now called Fisherman's Picnic, and has been a tradition carried on for 86 years.
The Grand Marais Lions and Lioness Clubs along with many other community organizations work
for months preparing for the 10,000 to 15,000 people in attendance each year. Tourist around the

The Report Of A Burglary
On 02/05/2017 I was dispatched to 524 E. 30th Ave. North for the report of a burglary. When I
arrived, I noted the front of the house was facing south. The house was a single level, white in color
with a tin roof. The front of the house had a porch that also faced the south. When I pulled into the
driveway, two people were standing on the front porch. I walked up to the porch and the two
individuals identified themselves as the home owners. The male identified himself as Augustus
Arterburn 05/07/1993, and the female identified herself as Isabella Cook 03/20/1993. Augustus said
Isabella and him left the house on 02/05/2017 at around 1300 hours, they went to Oklahoma and

miscellaneous DVD 's were taken on the TV stand. We then walked into the kitchen that was located
to the south of the living room. Augustus said when they left the house the pile of clothes that were
on the ground were directly in front of the back door. When they returned home the clothes were all
pushed up against the wall because the back door had been opened. The rear door to the house faced
the north and no lights were on. The rear door only locks with the door handle lock and was
undamaged. Augustus and Isabella said they had looked over the entire house and only the items
listed above were taken. Augustus said two other flat screen TV 's were not taken and he had
firearms in the bedroom that were not tampered with. I asked Augustus if he owned the home or if
he was renting, he said they were renting and had just moved in. I asked him if he had the locks
changed since they had moved in, he said no. Augustus then told me he had the only two keys. I told
him he had the only two keys that he knew about, I then asked him if he knew the previous tenants

When The Scientist Presents By Jean Luc Lebrun
A great successful researcher not only rely on the numerous published papers rather depends more
on how many scientific talks has been given to fellow colleagues and peers. The text, 'When the
Scientist Presents' written by Jean Luc Lebrun outlines essential aspects to give a science talk and
ideas are illustrated through detailed examples of scientific presentations. The book is divided
majorly into four parts: Content selection, audience expectation, the slides and the presenter. The
information contained in the book help a scientist to prepare about the content filtering, audiences
expectation and presenters gesture to give science talks.
Content selection should be abreast with knowledge of audience expected from the scientific
presentation. Each slide should be self–contained and must not require external support for
understanding. There are two ways to cut down presentation time: Visual is worth a thousand words
and helps saving time for explaining in depth details of a project especially numerical data. One
should put applicable content on slides because what matters most is the amount of information you
caused to be absorbed by attendee. The Q&A is significant, the audience must gain freedom to
engage with speaker and ask questions for better perspective of the talk. Contents should reflect
critical analysis of evidences supported by research findings. Furthermore, Credibility can be
established through what audience perceive by the presenter's evidence.

To prepare a wet mount slide you begin with the substance at hand. The specimens studied in the
laboratory using this type of slide were a hay infusion, a yeast suspension, and the mold specimen.
For the hay infusion you begin with placing two drops of the suspension in the center of a clean
microscope slide using a transfer pipet. The specimen must be immediately covered with a cover
glass completing the wet mount slide. The yeast suspension is transferred from the tube to the slide
using a flame sterilized inoculating loop. Immediately cover the specimen with a cover glass. The
stained yeast suspension is prepared the same way except that the suspension is mixed with a drop
of lactophenol cotton blue placed on the slide prior to transferring the yeast. The mold must be cut
from the petri plate and placed on top of the drop of lactophenol cotton blue already placed on the
microscope slide. After it is covered it may be studied under the microscope. 3. State the scientific
name of the yeast studied in the laboratory.
Saccharomyces cerevisiae is the scientific name of the yeast studied in the laboratory. 4. Name the

Logarithms In The Pre-Calculator Era
In contemporary mathematics, the arithmetic computations that make up the complex subject have
been eased by the calculator, allowing for revolutionary discoveries and endeavors by mathematical
scholars. However, what can be said of the conduct of mathematicians before the introduction of the
calculator? I certainly find it crucial to understand this, for the pre–calculator era is what shaped the
subject into the core study of success. In the classroom the unit of trigonometry – the dynamic
analysis of the triangle and its properties – is notorious for functions and operations that rely heavily
on the calculator. I know this from experience, but I also know that there must have been a way to
handle the aforementioned functions and
operations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Essentially, this is equivalent to the properties of logarithms in the modern–day classroom, without
the Log Table of course. But, why is this important? The answer is the same for logarithms as it is
for the forgotten trigonometric functions: it was easier and quicker for mathematicians and
dilettantes at the time.
Understanding the conduct and purpose of pre–calculator logarithms, it can be applied to the
infamous world of trigonometry. In her article Lamb states, "Near the angle θ=0, cos(θ) is very close
to 1." (Lamb) Therefore, to perform certain computations such as subtracting 1 from cos(θ) would
yield a very precise result – one that, without a calculator, would be nearly impossible to render.
When significant figures are taken into account (that is, the resulting number without leading or
trailing zeroes; a popular application in chemical sciences and advanced mathematics), the level of
complication can build drastically if only so many of them are present in an answer. And while that
may not be a problem in one's early arithmetic, it can prove devastating later on.
But not only do the special trigonometric functions, which I will name shortly,

Factors That Affect The Individual 's Sense Of Self Is...
The main point of Baldwin et al.'s theoretical analysis was to discover how an individual's sense of
self is affected by many components, including personal experiences. The mental association
between these two factors was proposed because self–prospection and close relationships are tied to
how individuals view themselves. We sometimes see ourselves as who we're with, and how they
treat us translates to how we see ourselves. 2. Focus on the first study that Baldwin et al. report (that
is, Study 1, not the first research article they cite). What is the hypothesis that is being tested in this
study? The Hypothesis of the first study is, there is an alteration in an individual's self–prospection
when greeted with responses, whether it be negative or positive. 3. Summarize the design, the
independent variables, and the dependent variables. When you describe the IV and DV, first tell me
what they are at a psychological level (what are the experimenters trying to manipulate or measure
in people's heads?), and then tell me what they are at the level of concrete operations (what exactly
did the experimenters have participants do in the study – what procedure did they use?). The design
of the study is completing three questions, and then getting shown a response. If the response was
positive it reinforced the individual's response to the questions. If the given response was negative,
then the individual reconsidered their past answers. The independent variable of this study

parents were great friends with. My mother and I were rushed into the hospital with my father in the

born in a car. That was until we noticed a cop and my dad asked him if he could escort him and the
officer said no. My father then told him that he was bestfriends with the chief and that he demanded
to be escorted to the nearest hospital. The flashing lights and the horns of the cop car rushed through
the traffic. It took a while but we were finally able to get to the Loyola Hospital. It was 11:28 and it
was finally time for me to come into the world I am in today. My favorite place is Italy, though I
only wet there this summer. It was an experience I will never forget. To eating pizza everyday, to
seeing the pope in person. We exited off the plane into a bus back to the terminal. When we arrived
there we tried

Youth America Narrative
It all started in 2016. It was a summer day in June at a camp called Youth America. That Summer
day started terribly. It was a burning day at Youth America and an exhausting day as well. We had to
set a slide up on a grass hill, this slide used mattresses, a pool cover and pool floats, plus soap and
water. We had to carry these items for a while. We walked carrying these items to where the coaches
were going to set this up. The coaches and the volunteers put this slide together on the grass hill.
They used this ramp from the storage room. They poured a lot of soap on it, then the water from the
hose. After building this slide, if we wanted to, you had to go to your cabin and get your bathing suit
on. I did not want to do it so I just watched ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was interesting how tough it got. After this terrible, great, bad, fun day we sat down and got calm
after the game, ready for a sermon. I got excited when I heard that Monica Pankratz was going to
preach. She walked on stage and said "boys can you please exit to the right so you will have a
sermon outside with my husband." So right at that moment the boys left the room.
Monica asked everyone this "who loves Jesus christ every day of your life?", and the room got loud
and quickly filled up with cheer. After that she had us take our seats and get ready for prayer. After
she prayed the worship team came up and we jumped up and worshiped. The last song was a slow
steady song, I mainly paid attention to the words. At that moment I got teary eyed because those
word where really powerful and really touched my heart because of the two deaths before and the
word it said.
After we sat down and chilled. The title was "Believe". Jaden and I shook our heads as if you were
saying yes and said ok in a confused voice. What the picture she put in our heads is that image if
you were a tree you need to dig your roots in the soil so if a storm comes you can stay on to him if
he was the soil. I took lots of notes about the sermon. The main key thing was about how we need to
believe in him and trust in him when we are going through something rough times, and we need to
take his hand and go through this journey with him instead of

Classroom Reflection
1. After it was all said and done, the presentation was a success in the fact that a good sample of the
technology was out to all. The slides appeared to be in a good order that flowed well with the
presentation. It was simple and straight forward, and it was in keeping with the technology that I
was presenting. Interesting and not so much boring. I like the video clip of the technology that I was
presenting. It was a good length and clear audio that was easily understood at the back of the class.
2. I could have prepped better. Possibly do a dry run in the empty classroom prior to the class to
work on the layout and timing. Adjust the slides so they are timed better. Adjust the slide size so
they will be easier to look at from the student's perspective. It is important that the audiences focus
is on the presentation and not drifting to some other distraction.
3. I will focus on what my audience is experiencing. What may be boring or not interesting. Stuff
that is just "filler "should not be included, such as how to establish an account, or login, unless that
is what the lesson is about. I have experienced lessons like that, and I do not wish any of my
students or audiences to experience that same thing. If possible, I may have someone sit a practice
presentation, and gather the feedback from them on whether the message came through.
4. What may be interesting and seem good to me, may not seem that way to others. What may sound
logical and sensible

Spring, May 2015 My best friend Madi and I walk into the waterpark the first thing I see is kids
running around.I smell the strong and bitter chlorine from the water. We walk to a table. As we are
walking and I am talking to my friend I get the taste of all the greasy snacks like chips and
hamburgers and other foods people are eating around us. We find a table and we sit down take off
our coverups and of course we head straight for the big slide. We walk up the steep stairs and wait in
line for about thirty minutes and by the way we went down ... Show more content on

A Reflection On The Classroom

  • 1. A Reflection On The Classroom Our lesson began with our scenario, "own a theme park and heard that you guys could help us create a waterslide. Our waterslide needs to be fast and fun, but also safe. People can't get injured while sliding and must make it to the bottom of the pool." Students were shown the video that gave them different examples of waterslides to help spark their personal connections and background knowledge. During the video students laughed and commented about the twists and turns. They were shown their materials and the constraints were explained to them. Such as they only had a certain amount of time, they only had so many materials, it needed to be safe, it needed to look like a slide, etc. The students were excited to get started and once they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I ended the group discussion reminding students that as an engineer, asking the client what they want is essential. For example, none of the groups knew that our theme parks color scheme was orange and blue. We discussed what sort of changes we would make now that we'd done the lesson once, and finally I asked, "so, who wants to be an Engineer when they grow up?" A few students, grinning wildly, raised their hands. During the planning process, I observed different strengths students brought to the task. For example, while handing out the jobs, there were some students who clearly took charge. They grabbed hold of the Director's job badge and looked up, asking if their group was okay with that. For the ones who didn't end up in an argument, the Director then led the group in deciding who would get the other jobs. When one student heard that the Scribe would also be drawing a design, they gasped loudly and reached for that badge. Allowing the students to assess their own strengths and choose their own jobs gave them a chance to strive towards being responsible enough for their job. Also during the planning process, students learned how to work together, creating plans that meshed instead of their own individual plans. For the groups that were having a hard time working together, the time constraints seemed to be a factor that pushed them into cooperation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Explain Why It Is Not Safe For Teens Sail Alone Have you ever seen somebody sail out onto the water? Do you want to do it yourself, but by yourself? Well, this argument might make you think differently. It is not safe for teens to sail alone for three major reasons. First, they could die. Second, they could get lost. Third, they could become stranded. Read on to learn more. The first reason is that teens could die. There are a lot of ways this could happen, like running out of food and water, drowning, or a shark may eat them. In the article Annapolis girl, 14, dies after boat capsizes during sailing camp, A teenage girl dies when she got tangled in something. Since the adults are not there, the teens would panic, and that would make the situation worse. Also, if a teen does die, he or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Short Story : The Disney Dream "Hurry up! We're going to miss the boat!," Sonali yelled back to her mom and dad who were running behind her in the hot Florida sun. As she was running, pulling her 1,000 pound suitcase and carrying a bulging green backpack, she caught a whiff of the ocean which smelled like a sewer. Dripping with sweat and tired from what seemed like an eternity of running down the mile long dock, they made it onto the boat just in time. The crew welcomed them by announcing "The Disney Dream welcomes the Ciolino Family." After they checked into the room and unpacked, Sonali suggested they take a tour of the enormous cruise ship and cool off with a frosty mug of lemonade. "We should check out the opening concert on the upper deck and see everything that there is to do on the boat." Sonali's parents agreed with her and they made their way to the upper deck. The deck it smelled like chlorine from the pools and warm homemade chocolate chip cookies the size of frisbees. The cool sea breeze was refreshing and was making the ornate streamers and balloons dance in the sky. All of a sudden there was a loud explosion and it began raining rainbow colored confetti all over us and the music started blaring "Party in the U.S.A." by Miley Cyrus, as the entire cast of Disney characters flooded the dance floor that magically appeared over the olympic sized pool on the deck. It was a giant party and, Sonali and her parents had a blast. Before they knew it, it was almost midnight and they all crawled back ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Descriptive Essay "Ugh. It's just so hot! I can't do anything it's so hot," I groaned. Mika looked over at me and mirrored the annoyed expression that I realized was on my face. I quickly wiped away the expression and tried for something a little nicer. After a bit I just gave up and lay down on the cement floor of our living room. It was cooler down there so it gave a moment of relief. The floor started to warm up where I lay though, so I had to keep moving from place to place so I wouldn't start to sweat too much. It was October of 2014. Towards the end of the year was always the most miserable time for everyone. It was just before the rains came, so it was very hot and unbearably humid. During the worst days, I couldn't bring myself to do much. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When it began to dump lots of rain every day, our back yard would turn into a mud bath. You couldn't walk outside without slipping, sliding or sticking in the mud. Some people might think this very inconvenient, but Mika, Gabe, Tessa, and I quickly realized how great it could be. During that time, the termite hills in our yard turned into a giant playground of fun. The top layer of clay became muddy and slippery, which gave me one of my best ideas, probably to this day. I gasped in amazement at the brilliance of the idea that had just popped into my head. "Guys," I said. "Lets slide down the hill!" At first we tried a few different techniques in an attempt to keep our clothes clean enough to wear another time in the future. We tried sitting on plastic bags, planks of wood and many other objects, but that didn't end up working out as well as we planned. Whatever we were sitting on always ended up slipping out from underneath us. Eventually we just forgot about all of that and decided it didn't matter that much if our clothes got ruined. So we struggled up the hills, trying not to slip and slide all the way down before we reached the top. Once we got to the summit, we chose the best path to slide down that wasn't blocked by trees, bushes, or rocks. We then seated ourselves in the mud at the top of the mound, gave ourselves a little push, and slid down the runway. It was a thrilling moment of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Using A Compound Microscope Lab Report Olivia Silvestri Due: 10/19/15 Using a Compound Microscope Lab Report E Period Abstract The purpose of this lab is to learn about the parts and uses of a compound microscope. It is also to learn how to properly use and take care of the microscope. This lab showed me what materials and parts of the microscope I should use when examining an object. Introduction The microscope was invented by a father and son, Hans and Zaccharias Janssen. They were once looking at the lens of a magnifying glass and decided to put the lenses in a tube. When they looked through the tube, they noticed that the object underneath the magnifying lenses, was enlarged. That was the first invention of the compound microscope. Overtime, more advancements and improvements were made by other scientists to this microscope (1. microscope–microscope.org). A scientist that contributed to the cell theory is Robert Hooke. Robert Hooke was the first person to use the word "cell" to describe the basic unit of life. He was also known for his observations of thinly sliced cork. Robert Brown contributed to the cell theory by discovering the nucleus of a plant cell (2. brighthub.com). The scientist Schleiden, made the statement about cells that all plant tissues were made up of cells and that cells are the basic building blocks of all plants. Schwann discovered that both plants and animals are made up of cells. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Negative Speech : The Effects Of Violent Entertainment... The Effects of Violent Entertainment I enjoyed the depth of this presentation. Not only did this team present first (meaning they had no reference for the format of their presentation), but also this presentation followed a concise train of thought that led to the ultimate conclusion. A few examples were used from media in order to portray your topic. It's understandable that each speaker wanted to discuss their own media example since each presenter talked about a different entertainment median. However, given that the time constraint for this project was only eight minutes, multiple media examples can certainly be costly. Thus, I'd suggest perhaps cutting down on the description of these media examples, or even eliminating one in order to meet the time limit. As I recall, the presentation was over by around four minutes. Another thing worth noting would be to cut down on the information provided on each slide. By using less information on the slide and expanding upon your bullets you'll be able to demonstrate a wealthier knowledge in the subject area without doing any extra work. Lastly, it's easy to tell that a lot of work was put into this presentation. The slides are well thought out and there is plenty of statistical evidence to backup your claims. Ensure that for future presentations, everyone within the group spends a little time polishing down the slides to their core representations. I believe everyone spoke clearly and the covering of the topic was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Report On Control Testing Results Essay Control Testing Results (Slides 4 – 8) (CAP Slides 81 – 102) Overall Comments  DLA's control testing results does not identify a time period for when the controls were assessed.  The document does not identify which controls were assessed for the various assessable units.  Work products for the assessable units (referenced below) will be provided to FIAR the week of 9/28/15 with Group 8 document submission.  Although the control failures are similar to what we've seen in previous SBA and Inventory assertion packages, we are unable to specifically identify the controls that were assessed by DLA.  There were a total number of 80 key controls for the FRR assessable units (Trial Balance Management/ Invoice to Disbursement/ Billing to Collections) – 56 of which were tested to date. FIAR will need to determine if the controls were unique to each assessable unit and when DLA plans to test the 24 remaining controls.  It appears that assessable unit, Inventory Transaction Reporting, was formerly titled, P2S_PCM13=NEIQ Perform Inventory Management – IRM. If in fact the process was renamed during the PCM consolidation process, there were several process and control gaps identified within the former PCM. FIAR needs to determine if the gaps, previously identified, are being remediated by the agency and tracked by CAP documentation. • 29. How To Write A Defining Moment Essay It was a sunny April afternoon. I was at the small, but beautiful green park that looked like one you would see in movies. I was with my friend and my brother. I was just being my 7 year old second grade self when life decided to throw a curveball at me. We were playing tag, and my friend was it. I was sitting at the top of the slide that I had been told many times to be careful on. My brother was hiding in the little dirt hole at the end of the grey metal slide that was rusting underneath. Thinking Please don't make me be it. . I leaned over the edge letting my feet dangle over it. I saw her climbing up the steep stairs that lead to the top where I was sitting. I knew that I was faster and if I had to I could run away. "Hey I see you up there!" she shouted climbing faster and faster and getting closer and closer. "No you don't," I giggled. Then I turned around and began to lift my leg back onto the slide when I felt a push and my friend saying "Tag! You're it" and felt myself slip over the edge. • 33. Essay about Narrative- Water Slide Experience Narrative– Water Slide Experience I was so excited. I could hardly breathe through the hour drive it took to get there. I was squished between my two ten–year–old best friends in the back seat of a white Saturn, but I didn't care. I was practicing over and over in my head what I was going to say to all the smart–alecky adults who would tell me I was too young to ride the water slides. I was simply going to reply, "Actually I'm ten, going on eleven." On the right of me sat the girl I met in preschool, the swimmer who was named after a state like me: Tennessee. She was the observant artist. She sat there holding a deck of cards, trying to find all the queens. I could tell she was nervous. Her hands were sweating. The cards were damp ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We are all exact triposites, if there's any such thing. I was so nervous and excited at the same time that I practically leaped out of the car with my Gap backpack and my Wal–Mart towel flying behind me. I could hear the screaming and crying of children. After we went through the long line to pay and put on a whole tube of sunscreen, we were ready to have some real fun. We wandered around trying to find the perfect ride. Tennessee and I had decided on the water gym when Anna suddenly stopped short. She pointed way up in the air. Our eyes slowly followed her finger. Through our ten–year old eyes we saw what looked like the scariest ride in the entire world. It was a 50–foot tall, sky blue slide that went straight down into a giant pool of deep dark water. Anna looked around and smiled. Her short brown hair jumped and fell each time she took a long stride. Her brown eyes twinkled as she walked to the slide. She seemed so proud about being brave and daring to walk up to "The Death Slide." Tennessee and I felt embarrassed that a girl six months younger than we were was going to ride it while we were going to play on the water gym. But Tennessee and I had a plan to cover up our embarrassment. We were going to act like we were going to ride The Death Slide, and then, at the last minute, say we forgot something and wait at the bottom for Anna.

Having lived literally right next door to Yuki, they naturally became childhood best friends aside from being blood–related. During the weekends, Yuki's parents drove them down a couple of streets away to spend time with their other relatives. It was one fateful day when Eunah got asked if she wanted to go with them and meet new kids. She couldn't say no to that as she wanted more friends. It was during Yuki's last summer in the country before they moved to Japan that Eunah had spent every single night with Yuki and her other cousins down at Jungkook's place. The mental health market is growing and is continuing to be a hot topic, an app that places control in the hands of the customer sounds viable. Group 37 made it clear how Millennials would feel about their data being available on mobile, but I would have been interested to understand how Group 37 would have overcome the obstacle, via their branding, about how people would feel about being implanted with a chip. What went well? ● I felt a clear gap in the market was identified for a personalised mental health App, however, supported evidence was lacking and would be been helpful. ● It was clear that the app would disrupt the market, giving customers control their own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was a shame they were presented without narration, as I felt they could have made some substantial claims about how the App would match John and Marie's requirements. Marie's persona mentioned that she never had the time to go see a psychiatrist, however, for the chip to be implanted in the customer they would need to find time to see their physician. I think these challenges could have been covered if the slide would have been narrated. ● Early adopters were depicted in the Business Model Canvas, but it would have been great to hear why Medical Students and 'young music and sports stars' would have taken to the App and why they would have been advocates of the business. ● As specified in the proposal, narration wasn't recorded over every single slide. ● The brand mission and purpose were unique, but I felt it would have been interesting to understand how MindSight would have been positioned and would appeal to the target audience, creating an authentic experience. The slide was cut off at the end, which again was a shame as I wanted to hear more. How could this have been improved? ● More supporting evidence about how the App would disrupt the market would have made the proposal more compelling. ● I liked the idea of the content marketing strategy, I could how the videos of the personas would be engaging. During the ride I went around in circles at least 5 times, my mind was spinning. After that hair– raising moment, I knew that today was going to be a day filled with adventure! Then, my family and I went to Hershey Park as a birthday gift for me. At the entrance, I saw an enormous light blue and bright yellow water slide that almost looked like half of a tornado. It was a really hot day, the temperature was almost 87 degrees. We walked over to the water section, and I was amazed how big it was, It was like a pool with water slides for gods. My brother told me right away, "We must go on that slide," and that was the moment I knew I would go on that gigantic water slide, I was relieved because I desperately needed a something to refresh myself, and I was scared. When I was waiting in–line I went up so many stairs, which took a while. Finally, I was where the slide started, My brother's back was facing the slide and I was facing the slide on the tube. "Shahan, are you ready? " My brother asked me, I said, "No," then the slide started. When you first went down the ride it was dark and there were scary turns, then you make a big drop and start to spin, when I was spinning in midair I was so scared. • 62. Childhood In The Liars Club, By Mary Karr After reading The Liars Club an autobiography by Mary Karr, my interpretation of the reading is that she is telling her story from her point of view as a child and as an adult, utilizing foreshadowing and vivid imagery. For example, the reading states "My sharpest memory is of a single instant surrounded by dark." "I was seven, and our family doctor knelt before me where I sat on a mattress on the bare floor" (Karr 3). This passage also brought some significance to the story as discussed in class. This helps the reader to understand that a very young age Mary Karr experienced something that was traumatic and it as stuck with her, therefore she labeled is one of her sharpest childhood memories. Usually when things happen to us as children we are not able to remember them exactly in detail, but when they are traumatic events those memories tend to stick with us throughout life. While writing Karr takes the role of two characters, those include the character "Pokey". In the story this is a representation of Mary Karr a child. Her father Pete calls her Pokey. During this time frame Mary isn't too aware of what is happening to her, she admires her father, and is also of her sisters. As I continued to read the story the next character that Mary Karr takes on is the narrator or author. This is referenced throughout the story when she looks back on her childhood to try and understand what was happening to her. A good example of this is when the author uses breaking of the fourth ... The goal of a father should be to become a male role model, and exemplify all the exceptional qualities he would like his own child to portray in the future. 3. I remember being impressed by my dad as a child. 4. He worked hard, he was in perfect shape, and he always seemed to be happy. 5. My dad stood behind me, ready to ride the slide, and said "C'mon McKenna, you can do this". 13. Sharks are my biggest fear and my dad knew it, yet still out of all the other water slide options our resort had to offer he chose that one. 14. As the line behind us grew, and the lifeguard in front of me became impatient, I swallowed my pride and decided to go for it. 15. "Okay, fine." I said begrudgingly. 16. I sat in the inner tube with my dad, and began the journey down the pitch black slide. 17. I still remember my heart beating fast as we twisted and turned all the way down, then finally it came to an end and our tube flowed into a glass tank surrounded by massive sharks. 18. I have just arrived in Branson, Missouri, where my family and I plan to have an amazing vacation away from home. To arrive in Branson, we first had to drive down to Missouri in my mom's silver van. As it was my parents, my three brothers, and me, the car was very crowded with all of our belongings that we needed for the trip crammed into the car with us. During the long and arduous car ride that dragged on for hours and hours, we figured out all of the activities that we hope to attend throughout the week of our trip. What makes me who I am today? Family, friends, and the sports I play had had always been apart of my life therefore had an effect on the person I'm am today. To my personality, the way I act and even dress. It's just whom I am. Family is such an important aspect in many people's lives, especially mine. I just love to spend time with them (family) since a young age.I had many adventures that I can say we did as a family and those adventures had influence my personality. For example, we all took a family vacation to together up to resort in the mountains. During the summer months for a week . I just turned six and I remember this adventure very vividly till this very day. It was a blast up there and a great experience to have. We did a lot of activities that involved animals. That's why my love for animals and nature is so strong and is embedded into my personality. There also was a waterpark (indoor/outdoors). It was very nice and spacious with fantastic slides. The slides were really frightening to me they look so enormous and giant, remember was only six years old at that time. So I was very cautious to go on the slides. After staring at them for a ... • 91. Analysis Of Dm Slides We used Sam S. to represent "cool" in our advertisement. He is wearing a tank top and is the only one in the hallway wearing the DM Slides. He could be seen as the trendsetter of the school. Sam K. notices this in the first scene of the ad. One common fear of HPHS students is not "fitting in". I believe that this is a shared fear because people fear not having any friends and being outside of the "in" crowd. If people think that what they're wearing is no longer in style and new fashion styles are being brought in, they will likely follow these trends as a desperate attempt to assure their social status and become once again a desirable member of society. If you do not fit in, you will be weird. If you are weird then you are not desirable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, the commons are a place where "cool" people eat lunch with a clean glass window making it very easy to see who is sitting in there. So if cool people wear our slides, the insecure students striving to be like the confident kids in the commons have something to improve on, their shoes. As a marketing strategy it could be very beneficial towards our brand to provide DM Slides to kids sitting in the commons for a cheaper price, or even free to promote the quantity of "cool" kids wearing them. This will result in a trickle down effect that is seen throughout all clothing phases; the trendsetters set, and everyone else consumes. Throughout my 4 years at HPHS we have observed that popularity and the high school standard of "happiness" revolves around a very unique cycle. This consists of the logic that if "higher up" people like you, you get to sit in the commons, and as a result, boys and especially girls (from a boy's perspective), will notice you. This brings up the opposing philosophy that if you are not constantly noticed you lose value/popularity. The cool kids, although may be very insecure personally, surround themselves with other confident kids to hide their individuality. By branding our slides to represent the newest trend of cool, students who feel they are on the cusp of being cool can now finally get their big break. Our product's clever name evokes a mixture of emotions from our audience. DM Slides is a play off of the term "DM's" which is a pop culture abbreviation for Direct Messages, which is what you use to contact your desired lover. Slide is a new common pop culture term used to represent going forth and messaging the person. For example, Keith slid into Ashley's DM's last night. Indirectly, our advertisement and brand allows you to be "cool", and as we've regarded already, cool people impress YOUR lovers. If you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 95. Soccer On The East Coast It has been said that when one gets injured, one never realizes it until you look at the wounded body part. No statement is more genuine than that. An individual forgets the details of how they got injured. The if, how, and whys are only noticed later on when you look back and analyze what had occurred. More often than not, a lot of different things are to blame. Could it be the slip and slide, the angle, or just a personal mistake? For some reason, I believe it was the first one, and that could explain why I'm scared of slip and slides. You must be asking yourself "what could have possibly happened that led to this erratic fear of slip and slides?" Soccer on the East coast is an enormous spectacle. Like football in the south and basketball in Indiana, soccer in the fall is an attraction that closes towns and turns neighboring schools into blood rivals. Conditioning begins in June, but the real season doesn't start until the third week of August when first week commences. First week of practice is the most challenging and fulfilling. Friendships that last all season, as well as team foundations, develop that first week. That first week defines your season before you complete a pass or attempt a shot. The first week is unmerciful. Three or four–hour practices, two a days; the heat makes you question your decision to play every minute of every day. That last Friday practice, however, always ends on a softer note. Personal Narrative Essay: America's Coolest Little Water Every year, a certain event takes place that is just as important to my family and I as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and the Fourth of July. However, most of America doesn't even know this event exists. A five day festival held the first week in August in a small town along the North Shore. In 2015, this little town in the upper northeast region of Minnesota was named "America's Coolest Small Town," by Budget Travel. This small town is known as Grand Marais and is home to around 1,341 people. In the 1930s, Grand Marais was a small village with a primary focus on logging and commercial fishing. Many of the community members in this small village decided to gather together for a shoreline picnic as a way to get to know one another and have a good time. This shoreline picnic is now called Fisherman's Picnic, and has been a tradition carried on for 86 years. The Grand Marais Lions and Lioness Clubs along with many other community organizations work for months preparing for the 10,000 to 15,000 people in attendance each year. Tourist around the country come to partake in this small community gathering that offers a variety of unique events and great food. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As we listened, my dad's uncle Roger whispers to the rest of the family, "there is no way they would design it where you could fly off of the track, so I'm not going to brake on the corners." When The Scientist Presents By Jean Luc Lebrun A great successful researcher not only rely on the numerous published papers rather depends more on how many scientific talks has been given to fellow colleagues and peers. The text, 'When the Scientist Presents' written by Jean Luc Lebrun outlines essential aspects to give a science talk and ideas are illustrated through detailed examples of scientific presentations. The book is divided majorly into four parts: Content selection, audience expectation, the slides and the presenter. The information contained in the book help a scientist to prepare about the content filtering, audiences expectation and presenters gesture to give science talks. Content selection should be abreast with knowledge of audience expected from the scientific presentation. Each slide should be self–contained and must not require external support for understanding. There are two ways to cut down presentation time: Visual is worth a thousand words and helps saving time for explaining in depth details of a project especially numerical data. One should put applicable content on slides because what matters most is the amount of information you caused to be absorbed by attendee. The Q&A is significant, the audience must gain freedom to engage with speaker and ask questions for better perspective of the talk. Contents should reflect critical analysis of evidences supported by research findings. Furthermore, Credibility can be established through what audience perceive by the presenter's evidence. In a ... Logarithms In The Pre-Calculator Era In contemporary mathematics, the arithmetic computations that make up the complex subject have been eased by the calculator, allowing for revolutionary discoveries and endeavors by mathematical scholars. However, what can be said of the conduct of mathematicians before the introduction of the calculator? I certainly find it crucial to understand this, for the pre–calculator era is what shaped the subject into the core study of success. In the classroom the unit of trigonometry – the dynamic analysis of the triangle and its properties – is notorious for functions and operations that rely heavily on the calculator. I know this from experience, but I also know that there must have been a way to handle the aforementioned functions and operations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Essentially, this is equivalent to the properties of logarithms in the modern–day classroom, without the Log Table of course. But, why is this important? The answer is the same for logarithms as it is for the forgotten trigonometric functions: it was easier and quicker for mathematicians and dilettantes at the time. Understanding the conduct and purpose of pre–calculator logarithms, it can be applied to the infamous world of trigonometry. In her article Lamb states, "Near the angle θ=0, cos(θ) is very close to 1." (Lamb) Therefore, to perform certain computations such as subtracting 1 from cos(θ) would yield a very precise result – one that, without a calculator, would be nearly impossible to render. When significant figures are taken into account (that is, the resulting number without leading or trailing zeroes; a popular application in chemical sciences and advanced mathematics), the level of complication can build drastically if only so many of them are present in an answer. And while that may not be a problem in one's early arithmetic, it can prove devastating later on. But not only do the special trigonometric functions, which I will name shortly, ... The main point of Baldwin et al.'s theoretical analysis was to discover how an individual's sense of self is affected by many components, including personal experiences. The mental association between these two factors was proposed because self–prospection and close relationships are tied to how individuals view themselves. We sometimes see ourselves as who we're with, and how they treat us translates to how we see ourselves. 2. Focus on the first study that Baldwin et al. report (that is, Study 1, not the first research article they cite). What is the hypothesis that is being tested in this study? The Hypothesis of the first study is, there is an alteration in an individual's self–prospection when greeted with responses, whether it be negative or positive. 3. Summarize the design, the independent variables, and the dependent variables. When you describe the IV and DV, first tell me what they are at a psychological level (what are the experimenters trying to manipulate or measure in people's heads?), and then tell me what they are at the level of concrete operations (what exactly did the experimenters have participants do in the study – what procedure did they use?). The design of the study is completing three questions, and then getting shown a response. If the response was positive it reinforced the individual's response to the questions. If the given response was negative, then the individual reconsidered their past answers. The independent variable of this study ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My parents and my 3 older brothers weren't expecting anything like this that day, everything felt normal until my mom had slight pain and wanted to go to wait it out because I wasn't due until a month later. We lived in Romeoville, Illinois and there weren't many hospitals around in the area. It wasn't until too late that my mother was going into labor. Luckily enough ... our neighbor was a police officer and chief so he was a very well known guy that my parents were great friends with. My mother and I were rushed into the hospital with my father in the driver seat. It was 10:30 and the roads were packed. There was no where to go and I was about to be born in a car. That was until we noticed a cop and my dad asked him if he could escort him and the officer said no. My father then told him that he was bestfriends with the chief and that he demanded to be escorted to the nearest hospital. The flashing lights and the horns of the cop car rushed through the traffic. It took a while but we were finally able to get to the Loyola Hospital. It was 11:28 and it was finally time for me to come into the world I am in today. My favorite place is Italy, though I only wet there this summer. It was an experience I will never forget.
