Kindergarten Jelka is a public preschool in Ljubljana, Slovenia with 5 units that provides education and care for children ages 1-6. 3. Kindergarten Jelka
is public preschool upbringing educational organisation
with primary goal to provide and to take care of child's foundational needs and wellbeing.
Kindergarten Jelka operates in five units:
4. • Main unit Jelka with kindergarten's
management is located in Glavarjeva street.
The unit operates is four parts:
• Green part: 2 Nursery groups of children in
age from 1 to 3 years of age
• Yellow part: 3 Nursery groups of children in
age from 1 to 3 years of age
• Blue part: 4 groups of children in age 2 to
5.
• Orange part: 4 groups of children in age
from 3 to 6 - school admission.
5. • Is dislocated part of Jelka unit and is located in
School building
This is a unit with:
• 2 nursery groups of children up to 3 years old.
• 1 heterogeneous group of children in age from 3 to
6 years old children.
6. • Unit Vila is located in Staničeva street
• It is an old villa house redecorated into a
kindergarten
• This is a unit with: 4 groups of children from 2 to
their school admission
• Unit has a nice fruit and vegetable garden and
playground with a swimming pool that comes
very useful at summer time
• This unit is part of ECO SCHOOL project
• All groups of children in this unit are conducting
step by step program.
7. • Unit Snow white located in Vodovodna street
• in ground floor of skayscraper and has a playground
infront.
This is a unit with
• 2 nursery groups of children up to 3 years old
• 2 groups of children from age 3 to
their school admission
8. • Unit Dwarfs is located in Lavričeva street
This is a unit with:
• 2 nursery groups of children up to 3 years old
• 3 groups of children from age 3 to their school
admission
• All groups of children in this unit are conducting
step by step program.
• This unit has a very nice playground.
9. ORGANISATION
Kindergarten is open from 6.00 in the morning
till 17.00 in the afternoon each working day
from Monday to Friday.
Each group of children has a preschool teacher
and preschool teacher’s assistant. They plan,
organise and offer children playfully prepared
activities based on thematic they are working on
accordingly to the Curriculum for kindergartens.
Playrooms are equipped with playing corners
where children can play and learn.
