Vijay Mallya was born on 18th December 1955 in Kolkata, West Bengal. He is the son of Vittal
Mallya, businessman and ex­chairman of United Breweries Group shortly known as UB Group.
UB Group is an Indian company with diverse interests in real estate, aviation infrastructure,
alcoholic beverages and fertilizers. After his father’s death, he took over the UB Group.

family’s businesses.

3. 4. In 1983 after his father’s death, Mallya became the Chairman of UB Group
at the age of 28 only.

over 60 companies.

First to an Air India air hostess Sameera Tyabjee in 1986. Their son was Siddharth

childhood. They have 2 daughters namely Leanna and Tanya.
