2. Harriet Tubman’s early life
She was born into slavery.
her given name was Araminta and she was often called "Minty" as a child.
But by the time she was an adult, she was calling herself Harriet.
Harriet began working at an early age. When five years old, she was first sent
away from home, she was loaned out to another plantation, checking muskrat
traps in icy cold rivers.
3. Later Times
In 1844, when she was 25, Harriet married John Tubman who was a freeman.
She got permission to marry him from her owners and lived with him in his
cabin, but she had to continue working for her master.
4. Accomplishments
After she was free she had decided to help other slave to freedom, she used the
underground railroad and helped free a lot of slaves.
She was honored by the military at her funeral, for what she did.
She died on March 10, 1913 in Auburn New York
