    1. 1. What is an AUP? <ul><li>AUP is for Acceptable Use Policy </li></ul><ul><li>It helps make sure that computers are used responsibly. </li></ul><ul><li>In other words, you agree to follow the rules. </li></ul>

Permission forms… <ul><li>AUPs also include permission forms </li></ul><ul><li>To make this as safe as possible </li></ul><ul><ul><li>No full names (first name only) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>No names with pictures </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>All student comments are moderated by the teacher </li></ul></ul>

Why publish student work? <ul><li>It gives you a voice; </li></ul><ul><li>It lets other students in the school, and the world see your work; </li></ul><ul><li>You get feedback from peers about their work; </li></ul><ul><li>We can share work with family members; </li></ul><ul><li>You can see your work after you leave Oak Ridge Elementary. </li></ul>

Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)/Permission to Publish on the Internet 2008-2009 Oak Ridge Elementary, SCUSD District policy requires that all students using computers to access the Internet sign an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). This is just a list of rules for how to use computers, permission from parents and guardians for students to use the Internet and publish their work there, and an agreement to follow all rules and procedures for computer use in our school and district. Please check each of the boxes and sign below.  WRITING: I give permission for my child’s written and visual work to appear on school/class Websites.  VOICE: I give permission for my child’s voice to be used in school/class podcasts (audio recordings) that are published on the Web.  PHOTOS: I give permission for my child’s picture to appear on school/class Websites.  VIDEO: I give permission for moving images of my child to be in videos that are published on the Web.
