CONSOLIDATION ACTIVITY

chosed it because it is a product that grows
a lot in Colombia.
• 2 .We would export to the UK because in
this sector people consume it in large
quantities.
• 3. Would be successful because the banana
is a world renowned fruit, because it is part
of different cuisines, depending the
culture.

2. 4. Colombian exports bananas grown in the
departments of Antioquia (Urbana) and
Magdalena. The banana is of great importance
as a generator of employment and foreign
exchange for the country. The banana industry
in Colombia generates approximately twenty
two thousand direct jobs and sixty five
thousand indirect. In addition, banana exports
account for thirty percent of agricultural
Colombian exports without coffee, competing
in the first place with flowers. United States
and the European Union are the destinations of
Eighty percent of Colombian exports.
