Help the Choir Bring Music Education to Children in Englewood Every child in Chicago has a right to arts education. Chicago Children’s Choir makes this possible for 3,00 children all over the city. Our singers have been blessed with the gift of music, but not all children are so lucky. We can change that. Chicago Children’s Choir is starting a new Neighborhood Choir Program in Englewood this fall. Englewood is a neighborhood with a rich musical tradition, from Jennifer Hudson to Ernest Dawkins. Bringing the Choir to Englewood will be an extension of this tradition, helping train the next generation of musicians and future leaders and give them an alternative to the dangerous streets of the Englewood neighborhood. The Choir is committed to making programs affordable for all children, especially in the most underserved communities in the city, and the children who have benefited most from our programs will now have an opportunity to raise money to give the gift of music to other children in Chicago. The Choir’s goal is to raise $100,000 to launch and operate the Englewood Neighborhood Choir Program for one year. We are launching our first individual giving campaign run by singers for singers. 2. Englewood Neighborhood Choir Program
This year’s “Paint the Town Red: Inspiring Peace through Song” is in response to
the violence in our city. We have committed the event to promoting peace in our
communities and raising awareness for our new program in Englewood. The show will
feature a few very special guests!
Englewood needs the Chicago Children’s Choir. The community has been hit hard by
violence. We need to get the kids off the street. Given it’s rich musical tradition, we are
a perfect fit.
One way we can help is to provide world-class music education, and inspire the
children to achieve greatness!
It will cost $100,000 to stand up and operate a NCP in Englewood for one year. That’s
why we need everyone to help – singers, families, staff, and supporters.
Chicago Children’s Choir is a 501c3 nonprofit arts organization. We raise more than
$2 million dollars annually. Each singer in the a Neighborhood Choir Program costs
the Choir about $1250 and each Concert Choir singer costs around $10,000. Every
student has subsidized tuition! And some pay as little as $50.

3. What is the “Singers for Singers” Fundraising
Campaign?
Our “Singers for Singers” Fundraising Campaign is an individual
fundraising campaign through FirstGiving that will help us reach our goal of
bringing music to Englewood.
This means that every person who benefits from this organization will have
an opportunity to give back. And it’s easy!
We want to show the community of Englewood that we are behind them and
that we care!
The Choir is not simply here to teach music. We are here to inspire our kids
to make a difference in this world. We are here to show them that they can
do something positive for their communities and beyond. And giving back is
one example of this!

4. How does the campaign work?
The entire campaign will start this Monday and last one month, up to Paint
the Town Red on May 15.
The commitment is minimal, less than 30 minutes over four weeks!
Each singer and family will create a fundraising page. In as little as 10
minutes, your page will be ready. It’s really that easy!
Once the page is finished, you:
1. Send the page to friends, family, and colleagues.
2. Share the link on Facebook and Twitter (if you have accounts).
3. Send weekly follow-up emails to remind everyone.
At Paint the Town Red, we will announce the total raised by the entire
organization – singers, family, staff, and supporters.
