- 4. VINEG R Vinegar is an acid. Very few bacteria can grow in acidic conditions.
- 5. YING D Bacteria and Fungi need water to grow. Drying removes the water so therefore they can’t grow.
- 6. F EEZING Freezing kills bacteria or slows down their growth. Cooling only slows down their growth.
- 7. SUGA OR S LT Adding sugar or salt slows down the growth of some bacteria and fungi and kills some others.
