Contemporaneous Media Coverage In The Korean War
The interpretation of a historic event and how the media portrays it to the public can sometimes say
more of the incident than the truth itself. Often, the media wildly misconstrues the actual events of
history which can change the public's outlook on an entire situation. This, in turn, helps form
policies and decisions these historical events can bring about, meaning, the media's interpretation of
an event has the ability to reveal more than the facts. In this short paper, through examining
contemporaneous media coverage, I am going to demonstrate how the outcome Korean War was, in
many regards, in the hands of the media. The Korean War began June 25, 1950 when communist
North Korea invaded South Korea. While initially the United States

Essay On Test Data Generation
2. Related works
Some of the recent work related to the automated test data generation is listed below:
Search–based approaches have been extensively applied to solve the problem of software test–data
generation. Yet, test–data generation for object–oriented programming (OOP) is challenging due to
the features of OOP, e.g., abstraction, encapsulation, and visibility that prevent direct access to some
parts of the source code. To address this problem Abdelilah Sakti et al. [26] have presented an
automated search–based software test–data generation approach that achieves high code coverage
for unit–class testing. The test–data generation problem for unit–class testing to generate relevant
sequences of method calls were described at first. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A set of search heuristics targeted to OCL constraints to guide test data generation and automate
MBT in industrial applications was proposed. These heuristics for three search algorithms: Genetic
Algorithm, (1+1) Evolutionary Algorithm, and Alternating Variable Method were evaluated.
Empirically evaluated the heuristics using complex artificial problems, followed by empirical
analyses of the feasibility of our approach on one industrial system in the context of robustness
testing.
A feature model is a compact representation of the products of a software product line. The
automated extraction of information from feature models is a thriving topic involving numerous
analysis operations, techniques and tools. Performance evaluations in this domain mainly rely on the
use of random feature models. However, these only provide a rough idea of the behaviour of the
tools with average problems and are not sufficient to reveal their real strengths and weaknesses.
Sergio Segura et al. [28] have proposed to model the problem of finding computationally hard
feature models as an optimization problem and solved it using a novel evolutionary algorithm for
optimized feature models (ETHOM). Tool and an analysis operation were given in ETHOM
generated input models of a predefined size maximizing aspects such as the execution time or the
memory consumption of the tool when performing the

Violence In Porphyria's Lover And Armitage It Could Be Me
Violence has been around since the beginning of human kind, although the way that it is viewed and
portrayed has changed since then. This becomes obvious when history is considered because
humans evolve and technology advances, so does the way that we view things and technology,
alone, has changed so much since the 1800s. However, there is a common theme between the poems
surrounding violence that we have studied in this class. It is the silence of those who are an integral
part of the violence. The way that this silence is portrayed differently as the works progress from
modern to post–modern, starting with two of Robert Browning's poems, followed by a work by
Wilfred Owen and ending with Simon's Armitage It Could Be You. These works span ... Show more

His poem, Porphyria's Lover, has an unexpected twist near the end when the sullen speaker strangles
his female companion, Porphyria, with her own hair. While the poem does give Porphyria a voice, it
is used to call out to her would–be murderer in an attempt at connection. She does not realize that he
hears her attempt, but then takes it a step further to make a claim for her worship. He wants her
supposed worship to be neverending and poses her in death the way he wanted her to remain in life,
surrounding him and comforting him. It is her silence that is key here for throughout the lines that
convey her murder, she is never given a sound. Realistically, as she is strangled to death, she would
have made some type of noise, but it is stricken from the poem. This is important because, even
while the speaker is killing her, he cares so little for her that he does not allow her assumed cries to
enter his ears. He wants to believe that she felt no pain, which can be seen on lines 41 and 42 when
he says "... No pain felt she; /I am quite sure she felt no pain" (Browning). This repetition makes it
seem that the speaker is trying to convince himself that he has not done anything wrong in killing
this woman because now she is better off and he will forever be basked in Porphyria's

Media Influence On Vietnam War
The Vietnam War was a long and expensive war that lasted between the years 1954 and 1975. This
conflict happened against the Communist North Vietnam and South Vietnam with its ally, the United
States. Over the course of the war 58,000 Americans were either killed or wounded, with an overall
count of 3 million people killed during the war, including civilians (History – Vietnam War). With
the help of the media, this merciless and gruesome war was televised to American homes
everywhere which created controversy and caused uneasiness in Americans. Although the media
portrayal of the war at first had mainly positive responses, the end of the war had a different story to
tell. One of the many reasons that so much combat of the war was broadcast

J. P. D. Dunbabin's Coverage Of The Cold War
J.P.D. Dunbabin was one of the first historians ever to attempt a coverage of the entire Cold War.
This time period was extremely dangerous in human history for this is when the United States and
the Soviet Union came dangerously close to obliterating each other. In the end, however, they
walked away from any open conflict. Due to both powers being in possession of Nuclear weapons,
any thought of normal war was unthinkable, and there was certainly no need for repetition of the
World Wars in 1914 and 1939. After 1945, most politicians had an extremely strong reason for
wanting to avoid war seeing that the fate of their country depended on it. Also, in the end, it would
prove that the cost of waging the cold war was an economic hit for all major countries involved. It
almost completely destroyed the Soviet Union and it seriously injured the American economy.
Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and West Germany ended up seeing great economic benefits that had
little or nothing to do with the Cold War, except for the Korean War which aided in Japan's future
economic miracle, just as Korea helped Britain's unstable recovery after 1950. These two volumes
by Dunbabin are a part of a larger series that is titled "The postwar world", which is edited by A. J.
Nicholls and Martin Alex and explores many different post–1945 issues. Dunbabin's history of
relations between nations since 1945 has been a setup for the rest of the series because it talks about

Impact Of Media Coverage During The Vietnam War
In regard to modern times, warfare is sadly a common occurrence throughout the world. Because of
this, and because news and media are such an integral part of society, important events of wars are
typically published in newspapers across the globe, featured on nightly news, and talked about
extensively. In fact, it is hard for the average person in Western societies to not be informed about
the happenings of particular events due to the fact that this information is so widespread. However,
warfare coverage has not always been at the forefront of media. It was not until the Vietnam War
that wartime happenings emerged as readily available public information, so available that it was
streamed into any private home with a television. So the question is how has media coverage of
wars impacted society? Throughout this paper, the impacts of media coverage during the Vietnam
War will be presented, including how such broadcastings affected American war–time sentiment
while simultaneously establishing and increasing anti–American attitudes across European nations.
The Vietnam War, less commonly referred to as the Second Indochina War, has had a tremendous
impact on different nations for a variety of reasons and established many wartime firsts. For one,
this war was the longest in history, lasting from July 1954 to April 30, 1975. When North
Vietnamese forces defeated the French after a longstanding fight for control in July 1954, the two
forces came together to sign the Geneva Peace

A Brief Note On Air Traffic Control ( Atc ) Essay
4.3 VARIOUS MODULES OF DLCA 6500 : 4.3.1 Air Traffic Controller(ATC) Air traffic control
(ATC) is a service provided by ground–based controllers who direct aircraft on the ground and in the
air. The primary purpose of ATC systems is to handle the aircraft downlinks and ground station
uplinks. The pilot sends some downlink messages by using MKP (Multi–Functional Keypad),
CCP(Cursor Control panel) in AM. The pilot will confirm the message by pressing SEND in AFD
and it will come to ATC after pressing SEND function in AFD.RIU will then send the message to
one of the existing radios (HF, SATCOM or VHF, with the selection of the radio based on special
logic contained within the RIU). For a message to be sent over the VHF network, the radio would
transmit the VHF signals containing the downlink message. This message is then received by a VHF
Remote Ground Station .ATC may use a radar system called Secondary Surveillance Radar to
downlink flight parameters allowing radar processing: systems and therefore controllers to see
various data on a flight, including airframe unique id (24–bits encoded), indicated airspeed and
flight director selected level, amongst others.Any aircraft is required to have clearance from Ground
Control. This is normally done via VHF/UHF radio. Figure 4(b): Air Traffic Controller (ATN–CM

Media Coverage During The Vietnam War
The established freedom within this uncensored war, unleashed an unprecedented amount of
evidence, thus allowing the media to become a tool for oral and visual communication for the
masses, ultimately changing the method of historical approach. The 'nature of evidence' significantly
changed during the television age as the intensity of war coverage changed. Professor Phillip M.
Taylor ascertains that the role of the media enabled the general public to be "take a front seat at the
making of history on the shirt–tails of journalism". Therefore, the public became histories witnesses
– albeit indirect participants – through the media. Many theorists argue that the media did not create
or script any events that played out in the war, rather the

Ethical Responsibilities of the Media
The role of the media is to formally update the people about what is happening in the world around
them. This means that it should give the audience an objective view of what is occurring without
violating any human rights or offending viewers. Since there are no certain limitations put on
broadcasting violent material, some Arab media channels like Al–Jazeera started excelling in giving
the viewer a complete picture about what is occurring in warring nations. From broadcasting the
casualties on the battlefield to airing hostage torture videos, Al–Jazeera and other news channels are
airing more graphic footage, and this has many negative effects on the viewing public. Terrorists

Although some viewers may not wish to watch such gruesome footage, it is still hard to ignore it
when it is being displayed before their eyes. The accessibility to the hostage torture films may
encourage terrorists to use the media in their favor, by capturing and killing more hostages in order
to film the executions, and strike fear into the viewers' hearts. A good example of the terrorists
exploiting the media would be the hostage situation in Beslan, where the Chechens broke into a
school there and took one thousand and two hundred people as hostages. These terrorists shot their
own videos inside the school and were expecting full coverage from the media which they
eventually did get (CBS). Another recent example would be the Ken Bigley case, in which the
media helped the terrorists to turn the gruesome footage into real television drama. People may
argue that this footage keeps us informed and aware of our enemy's tactics, but what do we learn
about our enemies by watching these staged executions? We still cannot know where the hostage is,
or how to reach him by watching a masked man torturing an innocent person in an unknown
location. Therefore, these hostage films have very little news value because they do not update the
viewer about anything new, and at the same time airing them gives the terrorists the publicity they
crave.
While these beheading or torture videos help the

The Truth Behind War Coverage
The Truth Behind War Coverage in the 21st Century
In the 90's, CNN introduced the world to "live coverage" when they sent journalists to Baghdad to
cover the first Gulf War. This was ground breaking journalism that opened several doors in the
media industry and there wasn 't a journalist that didn't envy the team of men and women that were
sent to Baghdad to report the war. Network stations today have followed suit when it comes to war
coverage, to the way that CNN has paved for broadcast media. Even still, CNN holds the record for
highest ratings during world crisis. ( Hachten and Scotton, 2016.)
In 2003 during the second Iraqi war, the US Army and allies created the embedding program, which
allows journalists to circulate in conflicting areas only if attached to a military unit. With this in
mind, the average person may think that this gives the American media free range to film whatever
they see, how they see it but that is farthest from the truth. It is believed that embedded journalists
know far more than they can tell their public. Honestly, journalists are at the mercy of generals.
What they can see, what they can learn and what they can report has always been controlled. For
example, Journalists are not allowed to photograph maps or camps. (Inside The Propaganda War

Syrian Jets Bombed A Marketplace
Syrian jets bombed a marketplace in Douma, Syria in August of 2015 (Robins–Early 5). This was an
attack that occurred in the midst of the Syrian civil war, a war between the government (led by
President Bashar al–Assad) and rebel civilians. The current civil war revolves around a conflict
regarding the balance of power within the country, while an immense number of innocent civilians
are being caught in the center of the violence and instability that the brutal war is causing. Over 4
million people have left the country as refugees, while others have been unable to escape the horrific
violence (Robins–Early 1). Amongst those who have been stuck within the country, children are

According to the United Nations (U.N.), the total number of children deaths has been over 8,500,
including 2,000 under the age of 10 (Omer 1). This brutal war has undoubtedly affected the lives of
many Syrian citizens, and while the death toll continues to rise, the lives of Syrian children are
being affected the most, as they are most vulnerable to the damage. Anthony Lake, the executive
director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), says that "Never in recent memory have
so many children been subjected to such unspeakable brutality" (Omer 1). While many children are
being affected by crises around the world, UNICEF's executive director believes that this war that
has been going on for half a decade is what has been most cruel towards children because of the
violent nature of the war that takes place amongst them. Wynn Flaten, the director of World Vision's
Syria Crisis Regional Response team, says that refugee children "need special protection. They need
to get into schools. Even when they can get in, often the classrooms are overflowing with extra
students, or they are bullied to such an extent that they no longer even want to go" (Omer 2). The
war is affecting the children greatly, as when they try to get the education they want, they are often
rejected by either the school or the bullies within them. Either way, they are turned away from

The Aeronautical Telecommunication Network ( Atn )
2.3 AERONAUTICAL TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK (ATN) :
2.3.1 Introduction
In the early 1980s, the international civil aviation community started to express concern about the
limitations on existing facilities and procedures, and their inability to cope with increasing air traffic
in the future years. Consequently Special Committee on FANS was established to study, identify and
assess new concepts and technology in the field of air navigation, including satellite technology, and
also to make recommendations thereon for the development of air navigation for international civil
aviation over a period of 25 years. A major result was the global Communications, Navigation and
Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) concept which identified the use of data
communications and of satellite–based systems as being the two major areas of improvement to the
then existing systems. The CNS/ATM concept was further developed and redefined, after which the
Aeronautical Telecommunication Network (ATN) became an integral part of CNS/ATM systems.
The ATN comprises application entities and communication services which allow ground, air–
ground and avionics data subnetworks to interoperate. This is done by adopting common interface
services and protocols based on International Standards. The ATN has been designed to provide data
communication services to Air Traffic Service (ATS) provider organizations and Aircraft Operating
agencies for the following types of communication traffic:

What Evidence Exists to Demonstrate That the American...
'Television brought the brutality of the war into the comfort of the living room. Vietnam was lost in
the living rooms of America – not on the battlefields of Vietnam.' (Marshall McLuhan, 1975). What
evidence exists to demonstrate that the American media coverage of the Vietnam War influenced its
outcome?
There are only two comprehensive inferences that can be drawn upon when assessing the impact
and legacy of the reporting of the Vietnam War on America and its media; the impact was enormous
and its legacy unending. More than thirty years have passed since the American military withdrew
from Vietnam, and in that time, the war has continued to permeate the cultural, and political

played out by the American government to convince the people of America of the just and

Civil Rights movement. Also, reporting in Vietnam at the time was very restricted, with South

Critical Analysis Of Black Hawk Down By Mark Bowden
As technology advances, learning about the country's history is highly neglected and a boring
activity for many teenagers in this generation. However, the significance of history provides
adolescents various perspectives to pain, breakthroughs, war associated with us today. Notably, it is
not just a summation of previous events, instead, its purpose is how and why these events occurred.
Moreover, one tragic event reported in one of the books by Mark Bowden was a true modern war
that happened in 1993, called The Battle of Mogadishu or Day of the Rangers.
Moreover, Bowden did not only provide his readers the facts of the battle, but he lets his readers
delve into the perspective of the people who had connections to the battle. As soon as the reader
analyzes Black Hawk Down by Mark Bowden, the reader can learn a lesson to the significant
consequences of war affecting the country's people, economy, and education. Bowden accomplished
a great perspective on both sides of the war, allowing his readers to perceive how war affects a
country's population in different ways. One predominant example readers see in this particular book
is the negative impact on their emotions. Possible high level of stress due to a traumatic event can
affect a soldier. Specifically, an extreme related emotional problem during a battle is the emotional
attachment soldiers have with each other and the pain that each and every death brings them

Strategic Direction And Global Security Essay
The general capabilities required by the Joint Force in 2025 will be a global surveillance and strike
(GSS) network, increased naval and air investments and ensuring cyber technology outpaces
adversaries. Based on the current U.S. strategic direction and global security environment these
capabilities are necessary. Satellites and cyber technology will be part of the design of the GSS
system. The U.S. military will be able to strike quickly and remain engaged for increased periods
while additional forces move to the area of concern using the GSS system. Increased Navy and Air
investments in submarines, ships, aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV's) and unmanned
underwater vehicles (UUV's) is critical. The Navy and Air Force allows us to project power to areas
of the world far from our base of operations. Air power also enables us to provide support for
ground forces while providing deterrence and denial of enemy forces. Cyber investments and
security are critical because cyber technology will increasingly be the engine that runs our future
military and allows us to attack adversary's cyber networks and infrastructure. The U.S. Army will
see a reduction in tactical armor units while the U.S. Marine Corps remains at the current level of
equipment and personnel. After each capability are associated Risk.

Media Coverage in the Vietnam War and the War on Iraq
"In wartime, truth is so precious that she should be attended by a bodyguard of lies" – Winston
Churchill. Ideally, the media has a responsibility of making sure that it does not happen. The media
plays a crucial role in covering the war in the most objective, bias–free and truthful manner, even if
negative stories have to be reported. In this essay, the comparison of media coverage between the
Vietnam War and Gulf War II has four areas to cover, which are the freedom of correspondents,
embedding, the reliability and quality of the coverage. The media also plays the role of a
"watchdog" in observing the government closely and reporting their actions. With the U.S. in

The president said at his news conference last week that the only thing that had been settled when he
came to office was the shape of the table. Well, in the five months since then, they have used the
table in the shape agreed on, settled nothing, and in Vietnam the war and the killing continues.
Today in Saigon they announced the casualty figures for the week. And though they came in the
form of numbers, each one of them was a man, most of them quite young, each with hopes he will
never realize, each with families and friends who will never see him alive again. Anyway, these are
the number (Hammond 1995). Many pictures that ran in the papers and magazines also supported
the beliefs that the U.S. was losing the war. In a book written by Oscar Patterson III, he states, "The
impact of the media on the public's opinion about the Vietnam war and the veteran was discussed by
Wright (1972) with the conclusion that the media appears to have succeeded in effecting enormous
opinion conversions among certain groups. What is most interesting, however, about Wright's data
and his interpretation of them is that he suggests that the media had a greater impact on the middle,
upper–middle, and upper classes in regards to change in attitude toward the Vietnam War than it did
on the lower classes." Patterson went on to write, "However, though there was a definite shift in

Canadian Identity in News Coverage at the Outbreak of the United States Civil War. Gabrial's article
is about how the Canadian identity was challenged by the American Civil War. In particular, he
argues that Canadian identity is significant in five important themes: the importance of British
identity, antipathy toward Americanism and suspicion of American democracy, a well–grounded fear
of American militarism, a patronizing sympathy for Americans in crisis and liberal and conservative
political threads. After summarizing Gabrial's main arguments, I shall be claiming that the article

The fourth theme is patronizing sympathy for Americans in crisis focuses on Canadian sympathy for
the Unites States following firing Fort Sumter in different editorials expressing concern over the
Civil War's terrible toll, sympathy declined as tensions between the United States and Great Britain
increased. It was important that Canadians goodwill was gone, once Canadians realized that the
North was fighting to save the Union and not to free slaves. The Union was over the Civil War's
goals had a stronger effect on conservative Canada East and many editors sympathize with the South
despite the general disregard for slavery.
The fifth and final theme is the display of liberal and conservative thought. The newspaper
coverage, express Canadian liberal and conservative emerged. An analysis of expressions showed in
newspaper indicating that thee support for the North or the South included their leadership. Both
liberal and conservative Canadian newspaper editors hated the institution of slavery; they
understood that Civil War causes different and developed opinions about war. The Globe expressed

Media Coverage On The Vietnam War
The Vietnam War introduced many new forms of technology on and off of the battlefield. Increased
weaponry helped shape the outcome of the war, but media coverage also played a large role in
representing the news and opinions of the war. Viet Thanh Nguyen's The Sympathizer helps
illustrate how the media influences and spreads the opinions of the people during the Vietnam War.
The war media, which includes newspapers, movies, and most importantly television, caters towards
its audience. What the media publishes shapes the public opinion, and the media creates their stance
based on the profit they receive.
The media reports on material that will produce the largest viewership. War coverage is the most

war almost exclusively to gain a large audience. CNN saved their company from going bankrupt by
exclusively showing coverage of the Iraq War in 1991; now they are a multibillion dollar business
venture. Television media such as CNN and FOX News cover positive stories and news, but the
negative news gains them the largest audience, which translates to the largest revenue. The primary
drive for these media networks is profit and market shares rather than upholding high journalistic

New Barbarism Thesis
On April 15th, 2013, the Boston Marathon bombings occurred, killing three people and injuring
hundreds. This story was broadcasted internationally and plastered on every major news source. In
Mogadishu, Somalia, on that very same day, terrorist bombings killed 29 people. Why, however, did
the latter conflict fail to get substantial press coverage? Why does violent conflict in Africa fail to
make headlines internationally while the Boston Bombings received worldwide recognition in a
matter of minutes? In Somalia, Rwanda, the Sudan, Sierra Leone, and countless other African
countries, violent conflict is presented as 'tribal,' 'ethnic,' or 'clan–based.' The underlying assumption
is that violence is the product of 'backward cultures' (Tuastad ... Show more content on

Representation serves as a powerful tool for shaping public opinion due to the pervasive reach and
influence of modern media (Atkinson 1999). The way in which conflict is explained is rooted in the
nature of representation and representation is a hegemonic tool. It is important to consider who has
the power to affect how we understand the complexities of the happenings in our world and to be
critical of the reasons as to why a situation might be represented in a certain way. Arturo Escobar's

Syrian Jets Bombed A Marketplace
Syrian jets bombed a marketplace in Douma, Syria, killing more than 100 people in August of 2015
(Robins–Early 5). This was an attack that occurred in the midst of the Syrian civil war, a war
between the government (President Bashar al–Assad), and rebel civilians. The current civil war
revolves around a conflict regarding the balance of power within the country, while an immense
number of innocent civilians are being caught in the center of the violence and instability that the
brutal war is causing. Over 4 million people have left the country as refugees, while some are unable
to escape to horrific violence (Robins–Early 1). Amongst those who are stuck within the country,
children are quitting school to make money to support their families, as their parents die in the midst
of the war. Innocent people– citizens of the region– are being infected by diseases that have been
eradicated for a decade and a half. The Syrian civil war has caused much violence and instability to
increase amongst the citizens of the war–torn country, as seen through the loss of education and
childhood that the children must face, along with the disease epidemics that the entire population
must face.
The war has caused many innocent deaths, including those of children, and those who are still alive
are facing tremendous changes that are affecting their education and childhood. Since its start in
March of 2011, more than 70,000 innocent civilians have lost their lives to the war. According to the

Edward R. Murrow, former reporter for CBS once said, "We must not confuse dissent with
disloyalty. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason if we...remember that we are not
descended from fearful men, not from men who feared to write, to speak, to associate and to defend
causes which were, for the moment unpopular." Times are changing when it comes to the media
covering wars. There was once a time in our country when journalists were not afraid to report the
realities and atrocities, to a reasonable extent, that occurred during wartime. During the Vietnam
conflict America saw what actually was happening in the jungle on the other side of the world and it

The D–Day media plans called for each corps in the operation to be accompanied by seven war
correspondents, three photographers, two public relations officers, four press censors, two radio
operators and two driver–messengers (Hernandez). The public relations officers and the press
censors would screen all the material prior to it being released to the public. Much of the news on
the war gathered would be edited and cut down by the press censors but often times the news could
be reported with some slight persuasion. If reporters were able to convince the officers that the
deleted or delayed material would in no way jeopardize security or other classified considerations,
then there was a good chance that a decision to censor would be reversed (Rather). The press had a
significant disadvantage compared to the journalists of today in the area of technology. The war was
depicted in the United States through radios and newspapers. Television was very new during World
War II so it was not a "living room war," like the conflicts to come in the future.
At the heart of the harmonious bond between the military and the press during World War II was a
clear sense of mutual trust and shared objectives. The military brass generally recognized that the
primary concern of most US correspondents was the welfare of the American troops and a complete
victory that would bring an unconditional end to tyranny in Europe and Asia. In return, the
journalists trusted the officers to

The Effects Of Climate Change On The Environment Of...
Climate change is a current event that many debate. The National Climactic Data Center reported
that, as of June 2012, the average combined global land and ocean temperature was 0.63 degrees
Celsius higher than the twentieth century average. This is the fourth highest temperature ever
recorded. Many credible sources, such as a number of United Nation bodies, the International Panel
of Climate Change, and academic scholars state that climate change cause resource scarcity. A lack
of resources can cause an increase in violent ethnic conflicts, and, in dire circumstances, can even
bring about crimes against humanity and genocide. Genocide and crimes against humanity in
Rwanda, Darfur, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo have been ... Show more content on

If climate change is not real, than the whole argument about climate change causing resource
scarcity and violent ethnic conflict is invalid. However, there is a lot of evidence that shows climate
change is a real problem. A study by The State of Climate Global Analysis for June 2012 shows that
there is evidence for climate change. The temperature of the land and water is above average, and
the number of temperature abnormalities continues to rise. Sunga (2014) writes, that CNN reported
"July 2012 was estimated to have been the hottest month for the continental United States since
record keeping began in 1895." (p. 4) A report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
warned that eleven of the last twelve years (from 1995–2006) were among the twelve warmest years
for surface temperature since 1895. It also noted that the ocean has grown to be over 3000 meters
deep, and that average snow coverage and mountain glacier mass had declined. After being shown
the evidence, one probably thinks that climate change is a reality. However, the fact that climate
change exists does not mean that it causes violent ethnic conflict and genocide. Not many studies
have been done on a link between climate change and violent ethnic conflict. Yet, there has been
growing concern in the international community and academic literature that climate change could
have an effect on violent conflict in general. In 1982, the UN General Assembly created the World

Yogacara War
This is combated in the same fashion that anxiety is, according to the Yogacara. One has to be able
to see the moments as they come, and be able to live in and savor them. However, instead of being
concerned about the death of the moment, one has to realize the moment is happening to begin with,
and not let it pass them by due to thinking that their actions are inconsequential. A life without
meaning is not a life worth living, and disassociating from the world makes people just go through
the motions of living, and that is clearly a destructive tendency that the Yogacara tries to combat
with its teachings. A common side effect of disassociation, but on the grand scale as well, is also the

well, because the person, or people, in the midst of the war are not being accurately portrayed and
are therefore just characters in the news' unfolding plot, and this causes a disconnect from person to

Intelligence, Surveillance, And Reconnaissance
2.1.3. Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance
The intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) is a main function of airpower, which
integrates the intelligence production activities with activities such as surveillance and
reconnaissance. ISR is an "integrated intelligence and operations function" by nature.
The ISR efforts contribute to the creation of joint integrated intelligence preparation of tactical,
operational and even strategic environment. This results in gaining the effect of situational
awareness, and provides with the opportunity to dominate adversaries in the decision making at all
levels of war – tactical, operational and strategic.

Thus it is most likely to be a role, applicable with service, agency or organisation. Rather it is more
appropriate the approach of naming the role, used in NATO AJP–3.3 "Allied Joint Doctrine for Air
and Space Operations" – "contribution to ISR", which addresses the airpower as contributor.
The main activities, which comply with the definition and core attributes of air power, are
surveillance and reconnaissance. While performing the surveillance and reconnaissance, airpower
contributes to the intelligence and enables the achievement of the "situational awareness" effect.
Separating these three functions will lead to loss of effectiveness.
2.1.3.2. Surveillance
Surveillance is defined as operations which include "systematic observation of space, aerospace,
surface areas, places, persons or objects, by visual, aural, electronic, photographic or other means"
[15]. The aim of conducting surveillance is to provide with indications and warning about the
adversaries' activities and potential or actual threats of different origin. Surveillance is a persistent
monitoring of the environment in order to detect any changes.

Summary Of Alison Ayers '
Furthermore, root causes of conflict on the continent are often associated with internal issues or an
'African problem'. Alison Ayers discusses the false perception of civil war and 'failed states' that
have been created and implemented by the West (Ayers 2012). She disputes that civil war is
internally instigated and only portrayed this way due to western representations of Africa through
media. Ayers states that these efforts are made by hegemonic powers and are 'ideologically and
politically convenient' (Ayers 2012, 261). Her implications here suggest that these ideological
subjugations render African regions vulnerable for the use of exploitation and continuous
dependency on external powers. This becomes the norm of African perception

Media Coverage On Afric Ethnic Conflict And Civil War
Media Coverage in Africa Ethnic conflict and civil war is a recurrent phenomena affecting many
countries in Africa, and has been ignored, oversimplified and overlooked by majority of the Western
world. Despite the decades of conflict, and loss of life, when the media does cover conflict in Africa,
the damage has already been done. For an example, the awareness regarding the Rwandan Crisis
was very delayed and action was taken too late, causing the deaths of thousands of lives.
In 1994, Rwanda 's population consisted of seven million people and was composed of three ethnic
groups: Hutu, Tutsi, and Twa. Ranging between 85% for Hutu population, 14% for Tutsi, and 1% for
Twa. In the early 1990 's, the Hutus blamed all of the country 's ... Show more content on

While Rwanda was having one sided bloodbath, the rest of the world thought this was a resolution
to the Hutu take over of the late 1950 's. When the crisis finally came to light, the media harshly
criticized the United Nations for not recognizing the conflict as a genocide sooner, and reacting to
prevent it. However, the media must share blame for failing to provide notice of the genocide. In
remote places of the world where significant information intelligence is not abundant, the news
business is highly relied upon to act as a system of warning; in Rwanda, the media did not fulfill this
role.
Between 1976 and 1978, a Marxist government in Ethiopia killed approximately five hundred
thousand of the the country 's citizens in a a bloodbath called the Red Terror. The Terror came from
a peaceful movement to end the rule of Emperor Haile Selassie. The Emperor was deposed of in

suspected of being members of a rebel force [3]. Another conflict without the role of the United

errors occur, the design will have to be reviewed and additional memory allocated to the servers and
clients.
Installation
During the installation phase of implementation, SKM proposes using a parallel implementation.
Initially, SKM proposes using a prototype of the system and having 6 key personnel use the system
from their desktops. Once these personnel are familiar with the system and are comfortable with it,
SKM will introduce a train–the trainer program which will enable these key personnel to return to
the workforce and train other employees in their areas. The new system will be run in parallel with
the old manual system. Running the systems in parallel is expected to have no impact on the
development of CAP. CAP 's IT team will install the hardware on the network during a weekend and
run tests on the systems to make sure they are up and running. Should the IT team encounter any
problems, it will return the following weekend. SKM has allocated funding should it be required.
Documentation
During the implementation phase, several documents will be produced to help in the maintenance
and support of the system. These documents will be used by CAP 's IT team. During testing, user
manuals and operational manuals were produced that will help all personnel use the system. During
this time, training manuals will be produced separately from the

COVERAGE DRIVEN VIP FOR AVALON MEMORY MAPPED INTERFACE USING UVM
Abstract:
The verification phase carries an important role in design cycle of a System on Chip (SoC). A
verification environment may be prepared using SystemVerilog without using any particular
methodology but that will be different for every variation of the design. The UVM testbench
increases robustness of functional verification, and allows you to create flexible, adaptable, scalable
testbenches. It offers quantifiable, measurable progress, and changing test sequences can be used to
easily increase code coverage. This project describes the use of coverage driven verification for
Avalon Memory Mapped Interface VIP using UVM methodology. The Avalon bus is a simple bus
architecture which makes the connection between on–chip processors and peripherals together into a
SOPC. It is an interface that specifies the port connections between master and slave components,
and also specifies the timing by which these components communicate. Avalon Memory–Mapped
(Avalon–MM) interfaces can be used to implement read and write interfaces for master and slave
components. In this work all components of testbench has been created to make a VIP. The coverage
collected on mm_cvgrp is 91.6%. The environment used random stimulus which helps in regression
to create different scenarios.

The War On Cyber Wars
Want to launch an attack on someone who opposes your beliefs, demands, and anything else that can
possibly be a point of conflict? All you have to do is "Google it". It is possible that all you have to
do to learn how to shut down your enemy's ability to use the internet is an internet search engine
search away and a little practice. An individual can learn how to write a virus or launch a full–blown
distributed denial of service attack against the desired target with some light reading and little trial

appear to make you feel disconnected from these cyber wars.
In chapter 7 of Cases in international relations: pathways to conflict and cooperation it contains a
case study about the war on cyber wars and briefly explains the different types of attacks that have
recently been taking place, with most of them involving the United States. It begins with the author
of the case study Glenn Hastedt stating a quote from a former head of the CIA, Michael Hayden
stating, " 'rarely has something been so important and so talked about with less clarity and less
understanding.' "(2015). This quote by Hayden is the simplest wording of a very deep and difficult
area of discussion that multiple countries and their respective peacekeeping organizations are
involved in, attempting to reach agreements on the matter.

Influential Violence Essay
Influential Violence
Violence is resulted by many causes that can make a person believe that it can be an alternative for
most if not all cases. In the article, "Why Are Humans Violent? The Psychological Reason We Hurt
Each Other" by Kirk Schneider, it discusses the possibility of the approach to stop violence by
getting insecure people to get mental health and later others can have a similar perspective of
supporting non–violence. With this intention, can it be viable to persuade a portion of those affected
by violence to persuade others to act nonviolent or avoid it?
In general, people who think in a pessimistic manner about their fears or rough life they have gone
through can result in the persuasion of violence being a sense of escape for their pain. Based on the
text, "The emerging science of"terror management theory" shows convincingly that when people
feel unimportant they equate those feelings with dying–and they will do everything they can,
including becoming extreme and destructive themselves to avoid that feeling" (P2). Not to
mention,"But too often violence is provocative, and when it becomes so betrays a common thread of
psychological destitution–the sense of insignificance, the sense of not counting, ... Show more

there was only radio and television was not yet in every household, not to mention there wasn't no

The means of showing those images was not quite there, most people would listen to the radio or
those moments shown on television that portrayed the war were recorded and already edited.
The coverage with Vietnam was different in that the media was far less regulated. It was harder to
hide the truth when the means of showing it was there and the support for the war wasn't. At first the
media took the approach of trying to show the Americans as winning the war but the that quickly
changed by the way the images showed otherwise. It showed families being killed. What people
were seeing on television was disgusting them. Americans were in a war like no other, in past war
the enemy would be in uniform and it was clear who to kill who not to, in Vietnam it was different
the enemies would also be families who did thing that were unheard of such as strapping bombs to
their babies so that to kill a bunch of soldiers because the Americans were least likely to believe that
there was any harm to a kid on a stroller. Many military operations were done from civilian homes
where there would be underground tunnels where the enemies would be at and could not be seen.
Unlike any other wars the mistakes of are soldiers were magnified because not only were they seen
by there own comrades but by the people watching the television.

Embedded Journalism Of War
Wars existed in ancient time, and are still somewhere in the world. Questions like, how people fight,
where it is, what is going on, and who wins last may catch curiosity of public. Therefore, journalism
on battlefield is definitely important for both people who care about the war and military who want
to build their images in society. In this essay, it will mainly focus on war news in modern times, and
this would give a simple definition about what is embedded journalism, which will include general
description of embedded journalists, such as what courses should they get, and how they collect
information on warfare. Then it looks at a brief introduction about nowadays battlefield journalism.
Furthermore it will be followed by a main way for war news broadcasting, and finally with a
consequence of correspondents' pressure, which is a controversial issue considered as a direct factor

the Embedded Journalism and Journalists
Journalism in the battlefield is now accepted widely as embedded journalism, and in "the March

Psychology Studies : Fundamental Attribution Error,...
I can definitely appreciate the Psychology studies so far from just reading and taking the time to
understand the many Disorders that have been discussed in out textbook. In my simple mind I have
begun to think that if there is any sickness, disorder or behavior in human beings it can be explained
in terms of Psychology. That makes me believe that the study is not easy at all.
It is as difficult as medical studies in trying to be a physician or a doctor. It requires an observant
mind and much reading. Also a psychologist needs a lot of patience as samples of all types of
disorders can be found around us everyday and these are our patients to observe and learn. In this
written assignment we were asked to define the following terms: fundamental attribution error,
cognitive dissonance, and diffusion of responsibility.
By definition of the term 'fundamental attribution error ' also known as 'correspondence bias ' means
we have a tendency to judge others on personal factors and overlook the actual situation that exists
for this behavior. For example in a restaurant we see a customer give a huge tip to the waitress. We
immediately think what a generous person this customer is. He/she very well might be generous but
could it be that this customer really enjoyed the meal or the service of the waitress or overall the
ambiance of the restaurant? So our immediate judgment was based on personal factor instead of
knowing the actual situation that caused the customer to behave

Contemporaneous Media Coverage In The Korean War

  • 1. Contemporaneous Media Coverage In The Korean War The interpretation of a historic event and how the media portrays it to the public can sometimes say more of the incident than the truth itself. Often, the media wildly misconstrues the actual events of history which can change the public's outlook on an entire situation. This, in turn, helps form policies and decisions these historical events can bring about, meaning, the media's interpretation of an event has the ability to reveal more than the facts. In this short paper, through examining contemporaneous media coverage, I am going to demonstrate how the outcome Korean War was, in many regards, in the hands of the media. The Korean War began June 25, 1950 when communist North Korea invaded South Korea. While initially the United States ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Essay On Test Data Generation 2. Related works Some of the recent work related to the automated test data generation is listed below: Search–based approaches have been extensively applied to solve the problem of software test–data generation. Yet, test–data generation for object–oriented programming (OOP) is challenging due to the features of OOP, e.g., abstraction, encapsulation, and visibility that prevent direct access to some parts of the source code. To address this problem Abdelilah Sakti et al. [26] have presented an automated search–based software test–data generation approach that achieves high code coverage for unit–class testing. The test–data generation problem for unit–class testing to generate relevant sequences of method calls were described at first. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A set of search heuristics targeted to OCL constraints to guide test data generation and automate MBT in industrial applications was proposed. These heuristics for three search algorithms: Genetic Algorithm, (1+1) Evolutionary Algorithm, and Alternating Variable Method were evaluated. Empirically evaluated the heuristics using complex artificial problems, followed by empirical analyses of the feasibility of our approach on one industrial system in the context of robustness testing. A feature model is a compact representation of the products of a software product line. The automated extraction of information from feature models is a thriving topic involving numerous analysis operations, techniques and tools. Performance evaluations in this domain mainly rely on the use of random feature models. However, these only provide a rough idea of the behaviour of the tools with average problems and are not sufficient to reveal their real strengths and weaknesses. Sergio Segura et al. [28] have proposed to model the problem of finding computationally hard feature models as an optimization problem and solved it using a novel evolutionary algorithm for optimized feature models (ETHOM). Tool and an analysis operation were given in ETHOM generated input models of a predefined size maximizing aspects such as the execution time or the memory consumption of the tool when performing the ... • 5. Violence In Porphyria's Lover And Armitage It Could Be Me Violence has been around since the beginning of human kind, although the way that it is viewed and portrayed has changed since then. This becomes obvious when history is considered because humans evolve and technology advances, so does the way that we view things and technology, alone, has changed so much since the 1800s. However, there is a common theme between the poems surrounding violence that we have studied in this class. It is the silence of those who are an integral part of the violence. The way that this silence is portrayed differently as the works progress from modern to post–modern, starting with two of Robert Browning's poems, followed by a work by Wilfred Owen and ending with Simon's Armitage It Could Be You. These works span ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His poem, Porphyria's Lover, has an unexpected twist near the end when the sullen speaker strangles his female companion, Porphyria, with her own hair. While the poem does give Porphyria a voice, it is used to call out to her would–be murderer in an attempt at connection. She does not realize that he hears her attempt, but then takes it a step further to make a claim for her worship. He wants her supposed worship to be neverending and poses her in death the way he wanted her to remain in life, surrounding him and comforting him. It is her silence that is key here for throughout the lines that convey her murder, she is never given a sound. Realistically, as she is strangled to death, she would have made some type of noise, but it is stricken from the poem. This is important because, even while the speaker is killing her, he cares so little for her that he does not allow her assumed cries to enter his ears. He wants to believe that she felt no pain, which can be seen on lines 41 and 42 when he says "... No pain felt she; /I am quite sure she felt no pain" (Browning). This repetition makes it seem that the speaker is trying to convince himself that he has not done anything wrong in killing this woman because now she is better off and he will forever be basked in Porphyria's ... • 9. Media Influence On Vietnam War The Vietnam War was a long and expensive war that lasted between the years 1954 and 1975. This conflict happened against the Communist North Vietnam and South Vietnam with its ally, the United States. Over the course of the war 58,000 Americans were either killed or wounded, with an overall count of 3 million people killed during the war, including civilians (History – Vietnam War). With the help of the media, this merciless and gruesome war was televised to American homes everywhere which created controversy and caused uneasiness in Americans. Although the media portrayal of the war at first had mainly positive responses, the end of the war had a different story to tell. • 11. J. P. D. Dunbabin's Coverage Of The Cold War J.P.D. Dunbabin was one of the first historians ever to attempt a coverage of the entire Cold War. This time period was extremely dangerous in human history for this is when the United States and the Soviet Union came dangerously close to obliterating each other. In the end, however, they walked away from any open conflict. Due to both powers being in possession of Nuclear weapons, any thought of normal war was unthinkable, and there was certainly no need for repetition of the World Wars in 1914 and 1939. After 1945, most politicians had an extremely strong reason for wanting to avoid war seeing that the fate of their country depended on it. Also, in the end, it would prove that the cost of waging the cold war was an economic hit for all major countries involved. It almost completely destroyed the Soviet Union and it seriously injured the American economy. Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and West Germany ended up seeing great economic benefits that had little or nothing to do with the Cold War, except for the Korean War which aided in Japan's future economic miracle, just as Korea helped Britain's unstable recovery after 1950. These two volumes by Dunbabin are a part of a larger series that is titled "The postwar world", which is edited by A. J. Nicholls and Martin Alex and explores many different post–1945 issues. Dunbabin's history of relations between nations since 1945 has been a setup for the rest of the series because it talks about almost every problem, at least in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Impact Of Media Coverage During The Vietnam War In regard to modern times, warfare is sadly a common occurrence throughout the world. Because of this, and because news and media are such an integral part of society, important events of wars are typically published in newspapers across the globe, featured on nightly news, and talked about extensively. In fact, it is hard for the average person in Western societies to not be informed about the happenings of particular events due to the fact that this information is so widespread. However, warfare coverage has not always been at the forefront of media. It was not until the Vietnam War that wartime happenings emerged as readily available public information, so available that it was streamed into any private home with a television. So the question is how has media coverage of wars impacted society? Throughout this paper, the impacts of media coverage during the Vietnam War will be presented, including how such broadcastings affected American war–time sentiment while simultaneously establishing and increasing anti–American attitudes across European nations. The Vietnam War, less commonly referred to as the Second Indochina War, has had a tremendous impact on different nations for a variety of reasons and established many wartime firsts. For one, this war was the longest in history, lasting from July 1954 to April 30, 1975. When North Vietnamese forces defeated the French after a longstanding fight for control in July 1954, the two forces came together to sign the Geneva Peace ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. A Brief Note On Air Traffic Control ( Atc ) Essay 4.3 VARIOUS MODULES OF DLCA 6500 : 4.3.1 Air Traffic Controller(ATC) Air traffic control (ATC) is a service provided by ground–based controllers who direct aircraft on the ground and in the air. The primary purpose of ATC systems is to handle the aircraft downlinks and ground station uplinks. The pilot sends some downlink messages by using MKP (Multi–Functional Keypad), CCP(Cursor Control panel) in AM. The pilot will confirm the message by pressing SEND in AFD and it will come to ATC after pressing SEND function in AFD.RIU will then send the message to one of the existing radios (HF, SATCOM or VHF, with the selection of the radio based on special logic contained within the RIU). For a message to be sent over the VHF network, the radio would transmit the VHF signals containing the downlink message. This message is then received by a VHF Remote Ground Station .ATC may use a radar system called Secondary Surveillance Radar to downlink flight parameters allowing radar processing: systems and therefore controllers to see various data on a flight, including airframe unique id (24–bits encoded), indicated airspeed and flight director selected level, amongst others.Any aircraft is required to have clearance from Ground Control. This is normally done via VHF/UHF radio. Figure 4(b): Air Traffic Controller (ATN–CM page) Figure 4(c): Air Traffic Controller 4.3.2 Radio Interface Unit (RIU): It is Radio Interface Unit. ... • 17. Media Coverage During The Vietnam War The established freedom within this uncensored war, unleashed an unprecedented amount of evidence, thus allowing the media to become a tool for oral and visual communication for the masses, ultimately changing the method of historical approach. The 'nature of evidence' significantly changed during the television age as the intensity of war coverage changed. Professor Phillip M. Taylor ascertains that the role of the media enabled the general public to be "take a front seat at the making of history on the shirt–tails of journalism". Therefore, the public became histories witnesses – albeit indirect participants – through the media. • 19. Ethical Responsibilities of the Media The role of the media is to formally update the people about what is happening in the world around them. This means that it should give the audience an objective view of what is occurring without violating any human rights or offending viewers. Since there are no certain limitations put on broadcasting violent material, some Arab media channels like Al–Jazeera started excelling in giving the viewer a complete picture about what is occurring in warring nations. From broadcasting the casualties on the battlefield to airing hostage torture videos, Al–Jazeera and other news channels are airing more graphic footage, and this has many negative effects on the viewing public. Terrorists make use of this extra publicity that these networks give ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although some viewers may not wish to watch such gruesome footage, it is still hard to ignore it when it is being displayed before their eyes. The accessibility to the hostage torture films may encourage terrorists to use the media in their favor, by capturing and killing more hostages in order to film the executions, and strike fear into the viewers' hearts. A good example of the terrorists exploiting the media would be the hostage situation in Beslan, where the Chechens broke into a school there and took one thousand and two hundred people as hostages. These terrorists shot their own videos inside the school and were expecting full coverage from the media which they eventually did get (CBS). Another recent example would be the Ken Bigley case, in which the media helped the terrorists to turn the gruesome footage into real television drama. People may argue that this footage keeps us informed and aware of our enemy's tactics, but what do we learn about our enemies by watching these staged executions? We still cannot know where the hostage is, or how to reach him by watching a masked man torturing an innocent person in an unknown location. Therefore, these hostage films have very little news value because they do not update the viewer about anything new, and at the same time airing them gives the terrorists the publicity they crave. • 21. The Truth Behind War Coverage The Truth Behind War Coverage in the 21st Century In the 90's, CNN introduced the world to "live coverage" when they sent journalists to Baghdad to cover the first Gulf War. This was ground breaking journalism that opened several doors in the media industry and there wasn 't a journalist that didn't envy the team of men and women that were sent to Baghdad to report the war. Network stations today have followed suit when it comes to war coverage, to the way that CNN has paved for broadcast media. Even still, CNN holds the record for highest ratings during world crisis. ( Hachten and Scotton, 2016.) In 2003 during the second Iraqi war, the US Army and allies created the embedding program, which allows journalists to circulate in conflicting areas only if attached to a military unit. With this in mind, the average person may think that this gives the American media free range to film whatever they see, how they see it but that is farthest from the truth. It is believed that embedded journalists know far more than they can tell their public. Honestly, journalists are at the mercy of generals. What they can see, what they can learn and what they can report has always been controlled. For example, Journalists are not allowed to photograph maps or camps. This was an attack that occurred in the midst of the Syrian civil war, a war between the government (led by President Bashar al–Assad) and rebel civilians. The current civil war revolves around a conflict regarding the balance of power within the country, while an immense number of innocent civilians are being caught in the center of the violence and instability that the brutal war is causing. Over 4 million people have left the country as refugees, while others have been unable to escape the horrific violence (Robins–Early 1). According to the United Nations (U.N.), the total number of children deaths has been over 8,500, including 2,000 under the age of 10 (Omer 1). This brutal war has undoubtedly affected the lives of many Syrian citizens, and while the death toll continues to rise, the lives of Syrian children are being affected the most, as they are most vulnerable to the damage. Anthony Lake, the executive director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), says that "Never in recent memory have so many children been subjected to such unspeakable brutality" (Omer 1). While many children are being affected by crises around the world, UNICEF's executive director believes that this war that has been going on for half a decade is what has been most cruel towards children because of the violent nature of the war that takes place amongst them. Wynn Flaten, the director of World Vision's Syria Crisis Regional Response team, says that refugee children "need special protection. They need to get into schools. Even when they can get in, often the classrooms are overflowing with extra students, or they are bullied to such an extent that they no longer even want to go" (Omer 2). The war is affecting the children greatly, as when they try to get the education they want, they are often rejected by either the school or the bullies within them. Either way, they are turned away from getting a proper education, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. The Aeronautical Telecommunication Network ( Atn ) 2.3 AERONAUTICAL TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK (ATN) : 2.3.1 Introduction In the early 1980s, the international civil aviation community started to express concern about the limitations on existing facilities and procedures, and their inability to cope with increasing air traffic in the future years. Consequently Special Committee on FANS was established to study, identify and assess new concepts and technology in the field of air navigation, including satellite technology, and also to make recommendations thereon for the development of air navigation for international civil aviation over a period of 25 years. A major result was the global Communications, Navigation and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) concept which identified the use of data communications and of satellite–based systems as being the two major areas of improvement to the then existing systems. The CNS/ATM concept was further developed and redefined, after which the Aeronautical Telecommunication Network (ATN) became an integral part of CNS/ATM systems. The ATN comprises application entities and communication services which allow ground, air– ground and avionics data subnetworks to interoperate. This is done by adopting common interface services and protocols based on International Standards. The ATN has been designed to provide data communication services to Air Traffic Service (ATS) provider organizations and Aircraft Operating agencies for the following types of communication traffic: 1. Vietnam was lost in the living rooms of America – not on the battlefields of Vietnam.' (Marshall McLuhan, 1975). What evidence exists to demonstrate that the American media coverage of the Vietnam War influenced its outcome? There are only two comprehensive inferences that can be drawn upon when assessing the impact and legacy of the reporting of the Vietnam War on America and its media; the impact was enormous and its legacy unending. More than thirty years have passed since the American military withdrew from Vietnam, and in that time, the war has continued to permeate the cultural, and political landscape of America, impacting all subsequent war ... This proved to be one of the many propaganda missions played out by the American government to convince the people of America of the just and honourable need to go to war in Vietnam – although notably during these crucial, early stages of the war, much of America's military involvement and activities in Vietnam went unreported in the American media and it is argued that '[the] American press was simply not interested in Vietnam' (Wyatt, C., (1993), Paper Soldiers: The American Press and the Vietnam War, p.67). As mentioned above the American citizen's exposure and thus interest in the war in Vietnam was limited and seemed to be distracted by more 'domestic' issues during the early 1960s such as the Civil Rights movement. Also, reporting in Vietnam at the time was very restricted, with South Vietnam president Ngo Dinh Diem in strict control of the foreign press resulting in the deportation of two reporters in 1962 – 'Homer Bigart of the New York Times and François Sully, a stringer ... Critical Analysis Of Black Hawk Down By Mark Bowden As technology advances, learning about the country's history is highly neglected and a boring activity for many teenagers in this generation. However, the significance of history provides adolescents various perspectives to pain, breakthroughs, war associated with us today. Notably, it is not just a summation of previous events, instead, its purpose is how and why these events occurred. Moreover, one tragic event reported in one of the books by Mark Bowden was a true modern war that happened in 1993, called The Battle of Mogadishu or Day of the Rangers. Moreover, Bowden did not only provide his readers the facts of the battle, but he lets his readers delve into the perspective of the people who had connections to the battle. As soon as the reader analyzes Black Hawk Down by Mark Bowden, the reader can learn a lesson to the significant consequences of war affecting the country's people, economy, and education. Bowden accomplished a great perspective on both sides of the war, allowing his readers to perceive how war affects a country's population in different ways. One predominant example readers see in this particular book is the negative impact on their emotions. Possible high level of stress due to a traumatic event can affect a soldier. Specifically, an extreme related emotional problem during a battle is the emotional attachment soldiers have with each other and the pain that each and every death brings them (Anderson). • 33. Strategic Direction And Global Security Essay The general capabilities required by the Joint Force in 2025 will be a global surveillance and strike (GSS) network, increased naval and air investments and ensuring cyber technology outpaces adversaries. Based on the current U.S. strategic direction and global security environment these capabilities are necessary. Satellites and cyber technology will be part of the design of the GSS system. The U.S. military will be able to strike quickly and remain engaged for increased periods while additional forces move to the area of concern using the GSS system. Increased Navy and Air investments in submarines, ships, aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV's) and unmanned underwater vehicles (UUV's) is critical. The Navy and Air Force allows us to project power to areas of the world far from our base of operations. Air power also enables us to provide support for ground forces while providing deterrence and denial of enemy forces. Cyber investments and security are critical because cyber technology will increasingly be the engine that runs our future military and allows us to attack adversary's cyber networks and infrastructure. The U.S. Army will see a reduction in tactical armor units while the U.S. Marine Corps remains at the current level of equipment and personnel. After each capability are associated Risk. Ideally, the media has a responsibility of making sure that it does not happen. The media plays a crucial role in covering the war in the most objective, bias–free and truthful manner, even if negative stories have to be reported. In this essay, the comparison of media coverage between the Vietnam War and Gulf War II has four areas to cover, which are the freedom of correspondents, embedding, the reliability and quality of the coverage. The media also plays the role of a "watchdog" in observing the government closely and reporting their actions. With the U.S. in Vietnam, the American people wanted to be kept up–to– date. ... Well, in the five months since then, they have used the table in the shape agreed on, settled nothing, and in Vietnam the war and the killing continues. Today in Saigon they announced the casualty figures for the week. And though they came in the form of numbers, each one of them was a man, most of them quite young, each with hopes he will never realize, each with families and friends who will never see him alive again. Anyway, these are the number (Hammond 1995). Many pictures that ran in the papers and magazines also supported the beliefs that the U.S. was losing the war. In this paper, I will discuss Brian Gabrial's article, "The Second Revolution": Expressions of Canadian Identity in News Coverage at the Outbreak of the United States Civil War. Gabrial's article is about how the Canadian identity was challenged by the American Civil War. In particular, he argues that Canadian identity is significant in five important themes: the importance of British identity, antipathy toward Americanism and suspicion of American democracy, a well–grounded fear of American militarism, a patronizing sympathy for Americans in crisis and liberal and conservative political threads. Increased weaponry helped shape the outcome of the war, but media coverage also played a large role in representing the news and opinions of the war. Viet Thanh Nguyen's The Sympathizer helps illustrate how the media influences and spreads the opinions of the people during the Vietnam War. The war media, which includes newspapers, movies, and most importantly television, caters towards its audience. What the media publishes shapes the public opinion, and the media creates their stance based on the profit they receive. The media reports on material that will produce the largest viewership. If climate change is not real, than the whole argument about climate change causing resource scarcity and violent ethnic conflict is invalid. However, there is a lot of evidence that shows climate change is a real problem. A study by The State of Climate Global Analysis for June 2012 shows that there is evidence for climate change. The temperature of the land and water is above average, and the number of temperature abnormalities continues to rise. Sunga (2014) writes, that CNN reported "July 2012 was estimated to have been the hottest month for the continental United States since record keeping began in 1895." (p. 4) A report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change warned that eleven of the last twelve years (from 1995–2006) were among the twelve warmest years for surface temperature since 1895. However, the media must share blame for failing to provide notice of the genocide. In remote places of the world where significant information intelligence is not abundant, the news business is highly relied upon to act as a system of warning; in Rwanda, the media did not fulfill this role. Between 1976 and 1978, a Marxist government in Ethiopia killed approximately five hundred thousand of the the country 's citizens in a a bloodbath called the Red Terror. It offers quantifiable, measurable progress, and changing test sequences can be used to easily increase code coverage. This project describes the use of coverage driven verification for Avalon Memory Mapped Interface VIP using UVM methodology. The Avalon bus is a simple bus architecture which makes the connection between on–chip processors and peripherals together into a SOPC. It is an interface that specifies the port connections between master and slave components, and also specifies the timing by which these components communicate. Avalon Memory–Mapped (Avalon–MM) interfaces can be used to implement read and write interfaces for master and slave components. In this work all components of testbench has been created to make a VIP. The coverage collected on mm_cvgrp is 91.6%. The environment used random stimulus which helps in regression to create different scenarios. Introduction: A verification engineer 's fundamental goal is ensuring that the device under test (DUT) behaves correctly in its verification ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 66. The War On Cyber Wars Want to launch an attack on someone who opposes your beliefs, demands, and anything else that can possibly be a point of conflict? All you have to do is "Google it". It is possible that all you have to do to learn how to shut down your enemy's ability to use the internet is an internet search engine search away and a little practice. An individual can learn how to write a virus or launch a full–blown distributed denial of service attack against the desired target with some light reading and little trial and error. The case study that is about to be explained to you would like you to think otherwise and appear to make you feel disconnected from these cyber wars. In chapter 7 of Cases in international relations: pathways to conflict and cooperation it contains a case study about the war on cyber wars and briefly explains the different types of attacks that have recently been taking place, with most of them involving the United States. It begins with the author of the case study Glenn Hastedt stating a quote from a former head of the CIA, Michael Hayden stating, " 'rarely has something been so important and so talked about with less clarity and less understanding.' "(2015). This quote by Hayden is the simplest wording of a very deep and difficult area of discussion that multiple countries and their respective peacekeeping organizations are involved in, attempting to reach agreements on the matter. Hastedt's case study goes further to explain a broad and surprisingly light ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 68. Death Coverage In The Military The media wants to take on death coverage in the military. Death is a very newsworthy story despite its obscenity and gruesomeness. Death is the tragedy most Americans, without family in the military, will never truly understand but can somewhat feel bi–curiously through the coverage on a screen. Although many Americans trust in the media to cover all news, after death coverage in previous wars – military war support has been lost due to the high death tolls. And in other circumstances, Americans have been misguided and turned biased because of war death censorship by the government. Should the media cover the death soldiers every time a solider dies? There are many families who say "absolutely not" and are content with the anti–media death ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the impact of war in the lives of those who've lost a loved one is something both sides can agree on. The very touching documentary called "Families Share Soldier's Last Letters Home" by Bill Couturi was shortly previewed on NPS live by Michelle Norris. "The families feel that America is anesthetized to their pain, like they don't feel the depths of their grief and the pain this war is causing. The fact that I was doing this and helping their loved ones be remembered was what exactly what they wanted." said Bill Couturi about his film. This is great death coverage because now days most people are desensitized to death since it is happening everywhere at all times, in movies, video games and real life. This allows us to understand and bring back the honor of the soldiers and the emotion associated with their death. There was no political motive or bias to this documentary, it was just documenting families reading the last letters of their passed loved ones and all the sadness that came along with ... • 70. Media Coverage Of The Vietnam War Villagers flee for their lives, as tanks advance behind them. Among the villagers are Americans lugging heavy equipment. These Americans aren't here to fight, though –– at least not in the traditional sense. They fight with audio and video, instead. (Rewrite Hook) This was live coverage of the Vietnam War, a long, bloody, unforgotten, and unappreciated war. Once these horrifying images were cast onto American screens, United States would find itself covered in ruins. Ruins that would cost years and years to rebuild. (Fix Transition) Media coverage of the Vietnam War ignited a new era of journalism and served as a driving force in the public's perception of United States involvement in foreign affairs. Ho Chi Minh's forceful significance as a communist leader would eventually entwine the public's judgment in U.S. collaboration with South Vietnam. (Rewrite Paragraph) At the birth of the Vietnam War, United States commentary of the Southeastern Asia region was at its minimum; only glimpses of certain headlines were cast. In the span of ten years, from the late 1950s to 1960s, there was an extreme increase of televisions in American homes. (Elaborate Introduction. Wordy.) "In 1950s, there were only 9% of American home owned a television, but this figure rose dramatically to 93% in 1966. In a survey conducted in 1964, 58% US respondents said that they "got most of their news" from television" (Citation). With this copious sum of Americans depending on televisions for their news, it would shortly modify the awareness of the war's destruction to citizens across the nation. By the conclusion of 1960, there was an unexpected death of hundreds of civilians, including South Vietnam's president, Ngo Dinh Diem. (Insert Significant Quote) This phenomenon stimulated attention of news corporations, such as the New York Times. Investigative correspondents were sent to Vietnam, encouraging alternate news firms to do the same. Not only was the Vietnam War developing, but the technology was advancing, which portrayed as an obstacle to the United States government. (Fix Sentence) The government, during World ... • 72. Influential Violence Essay Influential Violence Violence is resulted by many causes that can make a person believe that it can be an alternative for most if not all cases. In the article, "Why Are Humans Violent? The Psychological Reason We Hurt Each Other" by Kirk Schneider, it discusses the possibility of the approach to stop violence by getting insecure people to get mental health and later others can have a similar perspective of supporting non–violence. With this intention, can it be viable to persuade a portion of those affected by violence to persuade others to act nonviolent or avoid it? In general, people who think in a pessimistic manner about their fears or rough life they have gone through can result in the persuasion of violence being a sense of escape for their pain. Based on the text, "The emerging science of"terror management theory" shows convincingly that when people feel unimportant they equate those feelings with dying–and they will do everything they can, including becoming extreme and destructive themselves to avoid that feeling" (P2). Not to mention,"But too often violence is provocative, and when it becomes so betrays a common thread of psychological destitution–the sense of insignificance, the sense of not counting, ... After all, opinions and points of views are prone to change based on current events that happen in the world such as political, religious, and any other debatable topics. • 74. Media Coverage of the Vietnam War Essay Vietnam and the Medias Coverage of It Vietnam is unlike any war ever fought, unlike other war that we fought none before that brought so much controversy as to how it was covered by the media, it forever changed the way we the public looked at war. As technology evolved so did the ability to cover news. In the years prior to Vietnam there was only radio and television was not yet in every household, not to mention there wasn't no color televisions and very few color pictures. The media not only improved with their technology but they also were bigger than they had ever been. It was not so much the size of the war that really made an impact as to how we saw war afterward, in other past wars there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The means of showing those images was not quite there, most people would listen to the radio or those moments shown on television that portrayed the war were recorded and already edited. The coverage with Vietnam was different in that the media was far less regulated. It was harder to hide the truth when the means of showing it was there and the support for the war wasn't. At first the media took the approach of trying to show the Americans as winning the war but the that quickly changed by the way the images showed otherwise. It showed families being killed. What people were seeing on television was disgusting them. Americans were in a war like no other, in past war the enemy would be in uniform and it was clear who to kill who not to, in Vietnam it was different the enemies would also be families who did thing that were unheard of such as strapping bombs to their babies so that to kill a bunch of soldiers because the Americans were least likely to believe that there was any harm to a kid on a stroller. Many military operations were done from civilian homes where there would be underground tunnels where the enemies would be at and could not be seen. Unlike any other wars the mistakes of are soldiers were magnified because not only were they seen by there own comrades but by the people watching the television. The impact the coverage made ... • 76. Embedded Journalism Of War Wars existed in ancient time, and are still somewhere in the world. Questions like, how people fight, where it is, what is going on, and who wins last may catch curiosity of public. Therefore, journalism on battlefield is definitely important for both people who care about the war and military who want to build their images in society. In this essay, it will mainly focus on war news in modern times, and this would give a simple definition about what is embedded journalism, which will include general description of embedded journalists, such as what courses should they get, and how they collect information on warfare. Then it looks at a brief introduction about nowadays battlefield journalism. Furthermore it will be followed by a main way for war news broadcasting, and finally with a consequence of correspondents' pressure, which is a controversial issue considered as a direct factor to leads to news value scarification. the Embedded Journalism and Journalists Journalism in the battlefield is now accepted widely as embedded journalism, and in "the March 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq coincided with the first broad implementation of an innovative means of wartime coverage: embedded press." • 78. Psychology Studies : Fundamental Attribution Error,... I can definitely appreciate the Psychology studies so far from just reading and taking the time to understand the many Disorders that have been discussed in out textbook. In my simple mind I have begun to think that if there is any sickness, disorder or behavior in human beings it can be explained in terms of Psychology. That makes me believe that the study is not easy at all. It is as difficult as medical studies in trying to be a physician or a doctor. It requires an observant mind and much reading. Also a psychologist needs a lot of patience as samples of all types of disorders can be found around us everyday and these are our patients to observe and learn. In this written assignment we were asked to define the following terms: fundamental attribution error, cognitive dissonance, and diffusion of responsibility. By definition of the term 'fundamental attribution error ' also known as 'correspondence bias ' means we have a tendency to judge others on personal factors and overlook the actual situation that exists for this behavior. For example in a restaurant we see a customer give a huge tip to the waitress. We immediately think what a generous person this customer is. He/she very well might be generous but could it be that this customer really enjoyed the meal or the service of the waitress or overall the ambiance of the restaurant? So our immediate judgment was based on personal factor instead of knowing the actual situation that caused the customer to behave towards ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
