I. Question: Which paper towel brand is the strongest?
II. Purpose: To find the strongest paper towel brand.
III. Hypothesis: If I stack quarters on a wet paper towel, then Bounty will be able to hold the most
amount of quarters without ripping.
IV. Materials: – Bounty Paper Towels – Sparkle Paper Towels – Kirkland Paper Towels – Fry's
Generic Paper Towels –Kroger Paper Towels –Quarters – 1 Eyedropper – A Person – Water –
Container –Trash Can – Pen/Pencil – A Desk
V. Procedures:
Gather Materials all materials
Test the first paper towel brand by laying a strip vertically on the desk
Drop five drops of water on to the center of the paper towel
Place a quarter in the center as well, over wet surface
Have the person then elevate the piece of towel by grasping opposite ends
Continue adding quarters within five second intervals to the paper towel no longer supports it
Record the set amount of quarters the towel last held up securely
Repeat steps three through seven with other brands
Repeat entire experiment twice more

Therefore, my hypothesis was proven to be incorrect. During the experiment, I placed quarters onto
a single paper towel of each brand at 5 second intervals. I continued to place quarters on top of the
paper towel until it tore. I repeated this process for a total of three trials per paper towel brand. After
each trial, I recorded the number of quarters that the paper towel held. The results showed that
Kroger was the strongest paper towel brand followed by Bounty, Sparkle, Kirkland and finally the
Fry's Generic Brand. Kroger was able to hold an average of 55 quarters without

Testing Safety For A Laboratory Environment
Introduction
Working in a laboratory can be one of the most dangerous jobs to perform if you are not aware of
the necessary precautions that need to be taken. Two of the main issues that can arise in the
laboratory are improper use of sharp object and use of chemical. It is very important that proper lab
safety skills are conducted to prevent potential incidents from occurring. Lab safety is not only to
protect you from incidents but it is also to protect the people around you. Safety should always be
first priority. There are three main topics that should always be practiced when working in a lab
setting, Proper handwashing, safety techniques for yourself and others, and how to properly
clean/dispose of hazardous material. After this lab, the expected result is a better understanding on
how to properly conduct yourself in a laboratory environment.
Methods and Materials
The first topic addressed is how to properly wash your hands. The first unit of the lab consists of
proper handwashing etiquettes. Proper handwashing in the laboratory requires running water, soap,
and paper towels. Before washing one's hands, one should make sure all hand jewelry is taken off.
Once the faucet is turned on, one should wet his/her hands before adding soap. After the hands have
been wet and soap has been applied, one should thoroughly scrub his/her hands together for at least
20 seconds. A nail brush may also be used to clean up under the nails. After rubbing the hands

Why Do Paper Towel Absorb The Most Water
AIM: To determine which brand of 3 ply paper towel will absorb the most water
HYPOTHESIS: Brands with thicker paper towels will absorb more water as there are more
molecules present that are the key to absorbency in paper towels
INTRODUCTION:
The key to absorbency in paper towels are the fibers called cellulose molecules which are big
molecules that consist of lots of tiny sugar molecules chained together. When a paper towel
becomes wet, the water molecules rush in and cling onto the cellulose fibers which is why it is able
to absorb the water. Therefore most of the time, thicker the paper towels means there will be more
fibers resulting in more water absorbed.
In this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The results in the table show that the paper towels from the brand Kleenex was able to absorb the
most water as it was the thickess, therefere proving my hypothesis, thicker paper towels will absorb
more water, correct. The results also showed that different paper towels absorb different amounts of
water, some more and some less.
The fibers that make up the paper towel are what enables the towel itself to absorb water. The more
fibers, the more water is absorbed which is why Kleenex was the most successful paper towel brand
in this experiment as it was more thick and held more fibers.
There weren't many weaknesses identified in the experiment design but there were a few
disadvantages of doing this experiment, the main one being that whlist the paper towel was removed
from the beaker using our fingers. This may of slightly affected the results as some of the water may
of fell back into the beaker or were stuck to our fingers. To avoid this, tongs should be used instead.
An unforeseen problem that arouse during the experiment was that we could not measure anything
beneath 100ml with the 500ml beaker so we had to improvise and use a measuring cynliner which
solved the problem but also affected the results as some of the water could've remained

The Beach Research Paper
"Whoever is last to the beach is getting thrown in the water" my sister hollered as the cab door
opened. My friends and I all glanced at each other and sprinted out of the car because the last thing
we wanted to do is get wet and stay like that for the next 5 hours or so of the day. Even before my
feet touched the sand, I can see the tan coarse blanket that runs along the silky blue ocean. With
every breath that I inhale, I smell the salt and as I get close and closer to the beach I feel the warm
breeze. As soon as I touched the sand, my feet sank in it, and all the little grains of sand went
through my toes, forming a perfect mold. With every step I took, I also felt something sharp poking
my bare feet. When I looked down I saw a spiral, miniature seashell that was pointing its rough
edges to the surface of the sand. The closer I looked, I saw more clusters of tiny seashells, all
different types of shapes and vibrant colors. I tip toed forward to the ocean and picked up some of
the seashells along the way. They felt rough like sand paper from one side, but silky smooth from

looked up at the sky, I admired the transformation a fluffy clouds turning into light feather outlines

of the waves smashing on the shore was like a warning that if we wanted to stay dry, we had to

Eulogy For Emma Essay
Let's talk skincare. One thing I've battled with ever since I was a teenager is acne; thankfully I didn't
have it very severely but I struggled with it on my forehead as a teen, and then again all over my
face after coming off the pill in late 2011. Going on the pill at 19 really helped regulate my skin and
keep the acne away but since I started getting pregnant, breastfeeding, getting pregnant again...and
again (!) hormones have wreaked havoc with my face and it hasn't been fun to deal with, to say the
least.
Then in May of this year I miscarried and I experienced breakouts like I'd never had before. I felt
like my face had suddenly exploded with cystic, sore and painful spots which would not go away no
matter what I did. That summer was a pretty dark time, as going through something that painful is
already horrible but doing it publicly with lots of people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The dermatologist also recommended I make the switch to mineral makeup which I've done since
June. And I religiously take off my makeup every night with Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm and a
wash cloth (I was doing this beforehand anyway). I clean my makeup brushes after every use, I have
a different face towel to my bathroom hand towel (always have done). I still use the Clenziderm
cleanser and toner twice a day, along with a tiny amount of the lotion only on any spots that crop up
now and then. Added to the Clenziderm system I haven't stopped using my regular moisturiser and
eye cream which are the Tata Harper Rebuilding Moisturiser and Restorative Eye Cream.
I hope this post will help some of you or answer any skincare related questions that you've recently
asked! And if you've ever used Obagi products let me know how they worked for you. Did you find

Although the reliability of this experiment can be questioned. It was mostly maintained and copied
each time it was tested although the way that the paper towel is transferred from 1 beaker to another
is not that effective and may vary results. There is only 4 brands of paper towels being tested
making the test bias in a sense that the most absorbent paper towel is going to be 1 of the 3 that were

Sparkle Paper Towel
Advertisements regardless of the company are carefully planned out in order to attract customers to
increase sales. The advertisement for Sparkle paper towels has many carefully planned aspects
throughout the ad. First of all, the colors in advertisement evoke emotion and ideation in the
customer's mind. The blue color represents cleanliness. The whole point of paper towel is to clean
up messes. Also the color blue has an affect on the mind and body such as it invokes rest and makes
people typically feel calm. When a spill happens people tend to get to anger or upset over it, with
the blue in the advertisement it shows how the paper towel can reduce spills subconsciously. The
green color represents freshness. Once the spill is cleaned people will feel as though their home is
fresh and clean. The color green has affects on the body as well it also relaxes the body, calms, and

The illustrations of a "sparkle" it is visually appealing the eye. Humans are attracted to things that
sparkle, because water sparkles. We are genetically programmed to need water. With this visual
appeal, subconsciously we would be attracted to the advertisement, therefore wanting to purchase
the paper towel. The shiny white tusks on the elephant also give off this affect. Fifthly, the question
and answer about the elephant and Sparkle paper towels is a tactic to employ attention. The question
is what is made to hook people in. Whenever a question is asked, people tend to be curious to know
what the answer is. It grabs the consumer in. It captures their attention. For the answer to the
question is it giving people a reason to buy the product. The advertisement states, "Both can soak up
spills, but only one can fit your kitchen." The meaning behind this answer it shows how accessible
and attainable the product is. It is also making a claim that the product can soak up

Essay on Fat: A Fictional Narrative
She stopped. The flat gold carpet tipped at a forty–five degree angle, then swirled away when she
reached for it. The end table swooped and crashed a sharp edge into her arm. Then the floor lunged
in and slammed against her side but not before her outstretched arms cleared the table of pill bottles,
candles and lotions. The black lamp tipped, embroidered shade popping off and she felt the fall
vibrate the walls as she lay there breathing. A lazy film of powder rose from where the light bulb
used to be. Juice dripped onto her back. It was ice–cold and fresh from the refrigerator. Once she

But that seemed like cheating and it wasn't a dance of the dervish. They did graceful spins like
dandelion fluff or ash seeds on the wind. Maybe she had stopped too fast and put her arms down too
fast, jolting her equilibrium into wanting normal. But she hadn't been dizzy until she'd quit spinning
and that meant something. Didn't the dervish slow to a waltzed step before they settled? It was the
lack of control that scared her. When you were that dizzy, you couldn't tell where you were, and
getting down on the ground was wrought with error. She saw all the sharp corners of the suddenly
dangerous room. It could have been worse, she could have cracked her head, banged her face, or put
an eye out instead of just bruising a left shoulder. How was she ever to get it right without
endangering herself? Maybe just a couple of slow turns at first and see what happened. But not now,
she lay on the large bed and closed her eyes. She could feel them around her. A gentle pressure of
warning and presence. They wanted her to spin and count the spinning to avoid impending disasters.

Why Did Salt Grow In River Essay
The Effect of Salt on Radish Seed Growth along the Nelson River in Ensi county, Indiana.
Autumn Acord
Radish farms along the Nelson river had a recent lack of growth of their radishes. A landfill and a
salt storage facility had recently opened along the river near the farms. Samples from the river were
taken and used to grow radishes to see what caused the lack of growth. The salt storage facility had
leaked into the river, causing samples B and D not grow.
Introduction
In Ensi County, Indiana along the Nelson River it has been reported by two farmers that their crops
are not growing. Three farmers use the Nelson River and the same methods they used the previous
year to produce their crops. Recently added in their area was a salt storage ... Show more content on

It was in the middle of Nelson River between irrigation pumps. There was an abundance of salt and
it was not able to dissolve or become diluted enough for the plants to grow. This helps prove that the
salt is the reason why the radish seeds were not growing on this farm.
Each seed with Site E water grew on average 7.625 centimeters. Site E was located after Kimmel's
Creek joined in with the river, where Kimmel's Creek brings fresh water and helps dilute or dissolve
the salt. All this data helps find the reason why the farmers are having problems with growing their
crops by the Nelson River.
The hypothesis that was being tested was if the salt facility was leaking salt, then the crops will not
grow. The hypothesis was supported by the data gathered because it proves that the seeds in the sites
located near the salt facility did not grow at all, but the other seeds did when they were not affected.
Site B and D's seeds did not even sprout and they were located either by the salt facility or slightly
downstream. Site Cand E was farther down the river and was not affected by the salt. Site A was
completely before the storage facility and was not affected in anyway since it was the control of the

Which Paper Towel Works Best
Which Paper Towel Works Best
When you come to the paper towel aisle in the grocery store do you ever get frustrated and annoyed
by all the brands to choose from? Every brand is telling you that they are the strongest and that their
brand will absorb the fastest. Have you ever actually taken the time to figure out which brand is
indomitable and absorbs the quickest? Well today I will fill you in on this mysterious secret and tell
you not only which brand is not lying to you but also which brand you are getting your money's

After that I waited until the entire ice cube melted. This took about two hours or so. Now that the ice
had all melted and absorbed into the paper towel I could see that the ice cube had either broke
through the paper towel, absorbed fully into the paper towel or leaked though in some spots. When I
was finished looking over what had happened, I wrote down the results and everything all of my
observations.
The first brand that I decided to start with was Scott. Scott brand claims to have fast absorbing
ridges. I bought a package of ninety–six one–ply sheets for a $1.69. I figured out that each sheet
costs around 0.018 cents. The paper towel sheets individually are 27.9 by 27.9 centimeters. The
Scott brand held up pretty well with the ice cube. The ice cube did not break through or rip the paper
towel. The paper towel was fully wet and absorbed the entire red ice cube. None of the red water
leaked through. I feel that the Scott brand has passed the test.
The second brand that I tested was Giant Eagles "Clean 'n Tuff". This brand claims to be strong and
absorbent. I paid eighty–nine cents for a ninety–six 2–ply sheet roll. The sheets had the dimensions
of 27.9 by 27.9 centimeters. Each sheet costs around 0.0092 cents. After the ice cube finished
melting I observed what happened and found that the paper towel absorbed the water with no
tearing or dripping through at all.

a 250 mL glass beaker containing 100 mL of tap water (H20). Each of the paper towel brands
absorbed water in the beaker for 30 seconds and were lifted from the water for 30 seconds so that
the excess water may drop off. The tap water remaining was later poured back into the 100mL to
measure the paper towel absorbency. To get the total amount of tap water (H20) absorbed, the
formula used was 100mL – X mL = Absorbency mL. The independent variable for this experiment

A Personal Narrative Essay : My Birthday Day
All week my parents have been hinting a trip this weekend. It was Friday night and I was laying
wide awake in my bed, staring at my white ceiling. It was 2 am and my mind was racing and
excitement ran through my veins. Unfortunately, my parents are constantly working, so they never
really take me places. I had turned thirteen last week and this was my birthday present. Could it be
an amusement park? I really love roller coasters. Or maybe an arcade? Playing video games is my
favorite thing to do. My mind began thinking of anything and everything until I eventually drifted
into a buoyant slumber. The second my alarm for 9 am went off, I was up and out of bed.
"Ben?" My mom called out from behind my door.
"Already up!" I exclaimed with adrenaline, heading to the bathroom to start the mysterious, but
thrilling day ahead of me. About forty minutes later, my mom, my dad, my bulldog, Buster, and I
were in our minivan heading to the confidential destination. On the way there, I tried begging my
parents to let me in on where we were going, but they wouldn't budge. They said we had to wait
until we got there and it was a two hour drive! I took a nap because of the exhaustion I was feeling
due staying up late. But when I woke up, the smell of salt water quickly filled my nose. I knew
where we were. The beach. That enthusiasm and blithe feeling were flushed out of my system
immediately. I loathe the beach with a passion. The sand, the water, the smell. All of it. Ignominious
and transfixing memories rushed back to me like a ferocious tsunami. The beach and I don't mix and
never have. It's like putting a polar bear on a tropical island. The two don't match.
Not long after, we parked and exited the car. I wasn't even wearing the right attire for the beach. I
had on blue jeans, a red shirt, and a zip up gray jacket.
"Dad, why are we here? You guys know I don't like the beach."
"Ben, we both think it's time you get over your fear. You'll thank us later." My dad replied in an
educated tone. About half an hour passed and I was having a detestable time. My mom was tanning
and my dad was playing fetch with Buster. So, I decided I should take another nap on my beach
towel. But all of a sudden, I wasn't tired anymore. Mom and

Bed Bathing Patients in a Hospital
IntroductionIn this assignment I will be exploring the legal, professional and ethical issues involved
in bed bathing a patient/client in a hospital setting. I will be reflecting on a personal experience,
experience during a seven week placement on a diabetic ward. I have decided to use a reflective
cycle which is an adaptation from Gibbs' (1988) model. This reflection has provided a systematic
approach to my learning and to my nursing practice. Within this essay I intend to discuss approaches
to assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care.
Heron (1977) refers to the process of reflecting as a 'conscious use of the self'. Once one becomes
consciously aware of their actions, it is easer to recognise the reason for doing them ... Show more

After handover I was given the task of bed bathing a female client. Mrs Jones, what I learned about
Mrs Jones in handover was very brief. She was admitted to hospital as she was suffering shortness
of breath, she had been suffering from Parkinson's disease for ten years, she also had a catheter
instituted, she had very little control of the lower half of her body, her right shoulder was dislocated
and she was MRSA+. Mrs Jones took part in a trial drug many years ago this was to help her control
her Parkinson's disease coming off the drug became impossible and as a result Mr Jones is reliant on
this drug, this drug was referred to as apple morphine on the ward.
The basic bed bathing equipment I required was one bath towel, one hand towel, several disposable
swipes, clean bed linen, (2 x sheets) laundry bags, (in this case red bags as the client is MRSA+) a
slide sheet, small yellow bag for clinical waste, pad and incontinence sheet, bowl of warm water and
a set of pyjamas and or gown all provided by the hospital.
The client had acquired her own personal toiletries before admission this consisted of a bar of soap,
shower gel, talcum powder, perfume, two flannels, (one for the upper part of the torso and the other
for the lower half) moisturiser, a comb, dentures pot, tooth brush and tooth past. In addition to this
the client required saline solution,

Paper Towel Research Paper
Paper towels were invented by a school teacher in 1907. She felt the germs were being spread by the
students who dried their hands on the same cloth towel. At the same time Arthur Scott heard about it
and his company. Scott paper company accidentally made toilet paper too thick. When Arthur Scott
heard about the story, he thought of making more thick toilet paper rolls and introduce them as Sani
towels. And they were to be used in the kitchen to clean up messes.
Currently paper towels are used for lots of different things. Some examples are drying hands, wiping
tables or desks, cleaning the windows, cleaning the bathrooms etc.
Each year we use 13 billion pounds of tissue paper and towels. Most of it is not recycled and goes
into the landfills.

Lab Report on Paper Towels
Which Paper Towel is Stronger and
Has More Absorbency?
Decorator or Sparkle?
Introduction
Paper towels are made from softwood trees which contain long fibers. The tree goes thru several
processes before it is actually turned into a paper towel. The paper towel is made from pulp in which
the water is removed and the fibers then bond into sheets. Also, resin is added to the process to give
the paper towel strength (Union). Several layers are then put together with adhesive and then formed
into a paper towel (Choudhury). Some paper towels are embossed to form air pockets which help to
absorb more liquid and help to add more strength (Union).
The purpose of this experiment is to find out which brand of paper towel, Decorator or ... Show

The process was then repeated for the second brand of paper towel.
The independent variable for the experiment was the paper towels. The dependent variable was the
absorbency and strength. The constants for the experiment were the size of the paper towels that
were used, the amount of water, the size of the beaker, the size of the cylinder and the amount of the
weight.
Results
The results of the experiment for the test of strength were that the Sparkle brand proved to be the
strongest. The average amount that the paper towel would hold before ripping was 583.6 g, which
was 159.2 g more than the Decorator brand held. The Decorator brand only held 424.4 g before it
ripped.
The results of the experiment for the test of absorbency were that the Sparkle brand proved to be the
most absorbent. The average amount of liquid that the Sparkle brand paper towel held was 17.4 mL,
which was 4.6 mL more than the Decorator brand held. The Decorator brand only held 12.8 of
liquid.

Humans have evolved since the time they populated the Earth. Over time, the countless ideas,
inventions, and many theories have improved our extended lives, but what about the Earth? As time
has gone on, humans have continued to diminish the fragile state of the Earth. The advertisement
clearly depicts a once plentiful Earth now slowly being depleted of its most important resource–
trees, in attempt to influence the audience into feeling a sort of affection toward their environment.
The advertisement which in located in such a public area, it has no specific target audience, hence
being in a bathroom. Because it is in this location, the audience can range anywhere from young to
old. The advertisement is so simple it can be interpreted by children, teenagers, and adults in a
similar way, while still being effective. However, the question that arises is "Why is this being
advertised in a bathroom? This is primarily because restrooms provide an area of little to no media
distractions which is why promotional advertising is especially mainstream in restrooms.
The color of the paper also correlates to the environmental aspect of the advertisement as a whole.
The selection of this paper was a canny decision because green is often closely correlated with the
idea of "going–green," recycling, or preserving nature. Despite that, green is also a color that
represents money and/or greed. The ad depicts over a period of three images a person repeatedly

A Short Story : A Story Of The Story?
As Clemmie skipped down the main stairs to the ground floor, she hummed the rhyme that had been
niggling at the back of her mind all day long. Where did the song come from? She had no idea.
Perhaps it was an old playground song, or one her mother used to sing...or... Stop that, Clemmie
scolded herself. Stop trying to force your memory. The passage was gloomy and cold. The kitchen
lights were off and the only light came from the outside porch. When she opened the back door, a
fine mist of rain whipped around the corner of the house. It sprayed her face like fairy dust from a
rain cloud. And as she stood on the doorstep, Clog smelt the damp air and sought out the nearest
bush. He hated the rain. And he hated the dark. 'Go on then, Clog,' she shivered. 'But don't be too
long.' While she waited, Clemmie thought back to the conversation she had with Doctor Melilot.
Don't make me leave, she had begged. And her heart filled with joy when he replied. 'No! I will not
send you away. And neither will I send you to live with your granddad.' 'Cross your heart...?' He
bobbed his head solemnly, signalling with a cross my heart and hope to die. 'Now, off to bed. But
first, take Clog for a quick five–minute walk. So, here she was waiting for Clog. Out of the dark, she
heard a shuffle then watched a hedgehog scurry on past. 'Stay!' she warned Clog when he went to
chase after the creature. 'Otherwise you will get a nose full of spines.' Sometimes she could not

Reflective Essay On Water Bottles
If any given person were to walk into my dorm room they most likely wouldn't be too impressed
with it. The one item that would stand out the most is water bottles. I have close to a case of empty
water bottles just sitting around my desk, my nightstand, and piled up in the recycling bin. I refill
each water bottle about 2 to 3 times after drinking one but now I'm all out and refuse to buy another
case of water bottles. I never realized how harmful they are too the environment until this class.
Never had I realized how much unnecessary waste I contribute into our environment and it's time
for me to start finding positive alternatives. I have been using water bottles for as long as I can
remember. In high school I would take about two or three water bottles a day, which was absurd
now that I look back on it. If had known how harmful they are to the environment I most likely
would've stopped using water bottles many years ago. I was pretty annoyed with myself when I
found out that around less than 20% of water bottles are actually fully recycled and that I have just
been carelessly using them all my life. After the first week of class I called my parents and asked if
they could send me some money so I could buy a Hydro Flask, which is made of stainless steel. My
father didn't understand why I needed such an expensive alternative when water bottles are so much
cheaper. I was not going to keep bugging him to buy me one since he spends so much money on my
tuition and everything

Paint Learning Experience
Why did you choose this particular photo to represent your Learning Experience?
I chose this photo because the children truly enjoyed being able to do whatever they wanted with the
paint; K really wanted to pour some of the paint directly onto the paper.
What the photograph makes visible about the worth of process–oriented, open–ended work for both
arts and social studies for preschool children?
When children have the freedom to express themselves through a material, they will be more likely
to fully enjoy and participate in the activity; if I had told K no, she may have lost interest in the
painting activity.

Paper Towel Experiment
In this lab, three different brands of paper towel were tested to see which brand could absorb the
most water. The brands that were tested were Bounty, Sparkle, and the Dutch Fork High School
paper towels. To understand which paper towel would be the most absorbent one must know what
makes paper towels absorbent in the first place. Studies show that, "Paper towels are made up of
cellulose fibers, which also make up cotton, wood, and most other plants. These cellulose fibers are
actually giant molecules that consist of many small molecules linked together. The small molecules
that combine to make up cellulose are sugar molecules; that's the key to the absorbency of paper
towels." (Brown, 2013). Other key factors that play into the absorbency ... Show more content on

Bounty seems to be more absorbent because it has tight stitching, which creates a larger surface area
than other paper towel brands. This means that there is a larger amount of cellulose fibers in Bounty
paper towels. Bounty is also thicker and softer than both the Sparkle and Dutch Fork High School
paper towels, which are major factors that play into the absorbency of a paper towel. Based on this
research the hypothesis was if Bounty, Sparkle, and Dutch Fork High School paper towels are tested
for water absorbency, then Bounty will absorb the most water since it has the greatest absorbency
factors out of the three brands. There is constantly new paper towels being created and promising
that they are more absorbent than others, but the only way people will know is by testing them out,
which is why this experiment was conducted. In this experiment, the independent variable is the
different brands of paper towel. The dependent variable is the amount of water each brand of paper
towel absorbs in thirty seconds. The constant variables are the amount of water the paper towels are

allowed to drip after being taken out of the water, and the tool used to measure the amount of water

The Core Value Of Integrity In The Workplace
Integrity is one of the fundamental values that any organization seeks in an employee. The core
values to integrity are honesty and trust. Integrity can be defined as the quality of possessing and
adhering to high moral principles or professional standards. According to the Collins Dictionary
online, "if you have integrity, your are honest and firm in your moral principles". Leaders of today
believe that demonstrating integrity has become the most important characteristics of a leader.
In big or small ways employees have the opportunity to demonstrate their integrity every single day.
Some examples demonstrating integrity in a big way are; when someone is assigned a task that they
are failing to complete, they go to their superior and tell them that they need help to complete the
assigned task, instead of telling their superior that the task has been complete even though it was
done incorrectly or not done at all. Another example of demonstrating integrity in a big way is; a
cashier receives a fifty dollar bill from a customer and the bill is thirty–eight dollars, the cashier
could easily tell the customer that the bill is forty–eight dollars and give the customers two dollars
in change and put the ten dollars in their pocket, instead of giving the customer the correct change
of eighteen dollars. An example of demonstrating integrity in small aspect of life is; when using the
restroom you notice you have used the last of the toilet paper or paper towels, you locate more

with each brand of towel and record the data. Repeat each set of trials at least four times for
consistency of data. 7. Find the average amount of liquid absorbed by each brand of towel and plot

My experimental design is set up in such a way that anyone can replicate this experiment with the

Head Lice and How to Treat Them Essay
There is a myth that head lice only affect the poor or uneducated children. This is furthest from the
truth, these creatures affects everyone regardless of the socio–economic status of the family. Lice
are transmitted from individual to individual, and are not preventable. Once they grasp onto the
scalp, the female lice reproduce an average of ten new eggs daily. There are various ways to treat
this condition with vinegar and Listerine with a proven track record of eliminating these annoying
pests.

condition sometimes does not exhibit any symptoms. In the instance where they have symptoms, the

It is common for children to share items in a classrooms setting for example; this is good breeding

Listerine Treatment
Listerine is a proven method to treat lice; it is effective due to its content of alcohol, eucalyptol,
thymol, and menthol and methyl salicylate. These ingredients are toxic for the lice, but safe for the
user. This procedure eliminates the bonding agent that lice eggs stick to on the hair shaft. Treat the
affected by washing followed by toweling and drying the hair. Massage the Listerine into the child's
head and hair this is the safest way to avoid eye contact. The next step is covering the head with a
plastic cap or towel. Leave the treatment on the child's head overnight or for a few hours. Comb the
hair out with a lice comb, and shampoo the hair after. Normally infected condition is resolved with
one use, but you can repeat the treatment again if you are concern there might be remaining nits.
Vinegar Treatment Vinegar is widely used for various purposes, and is highly effective in treating
head lice. The child hair should be shampooed and towel dried as normal, and followed by equal
amounts of white vinegar and water. This solution should be massage in to the head gently. The
mixture acts as a dissolving agent eliminating the dead lice, and removing any remaining nits. An
added advantage of using this method, the

15. Use the graduated cylinder to measure exactly 10 mL of tap water from your sink.
16. Pour the 10 mL of tap water into the completely dry 100–mL beaker.
17. Add 5 drops of pH 10 buffer solution to the 10 mL of tap water in the beaker. Carefully swirl the
mixture in the beaker to ensure that the buffer is incorporated into the water.
18. Dip approximately 10 mm of a toothpick into the distilled water. Then, while toothpick is still
damp, dip the toothpick into the EBT indicator powder.
19. Dip the EBT–covered toothpick end into the water in the beaker and carefully stir, to transfer all
of the EBT from the toothpick into the water.
20. Carefully swirl the beaker for 30–60 seconds to fully dissolve the EBT into the water solution.

The Effect Of Milk And Milk Of Magnesia On Seed Germination
Background
A seed is the plants way of reproducing and allows the plant to produce plants of the same kind. A
seed is a developing plant that is bounded by a seed coat that covers the seed and usually has stored
food and nutrients inside. Seeds allow the plant to reproduce so they don't become extinct. Radish
seeds are rapid growing seeds that grow best in full sunlight with their own space, soil with a pH
level of 6.5–7, water with a pH level of 7, and cool/moist soil. Lemonade has a pH level of 2.5 and
is acidic, so the seed most likely will grow at a very slow rate compared to a seed with normal tap
water. Milk of magnesia has a pH level of 10.5 which is more basic and higher than the pH level of
water, the substance radish seeds grow best in. Therefore, the milk of magnesia might be too strong
for the seeds and will cause them to either grow extremely slow or not at all. The effect of lemonade
and milk of magnesia on seed germination can be measured by using a ruler and measuring the
sprout growth of each seed in centimeters daily.
Question
Will lemonade and milk of magnesia affect radish seed germination and growth?
Hypothesis
If I have 5ml of lemonade and 5ml of milk of magnesia and dilute each liquid with 5ml of tap water
and apply each solution twice to ten radish seeds, I believe the seeds will grow at a slower rate than
radish seeds with 10ml of tap water.
Materials
–30 radish seeds –Paper Towels
–3 Petri dishes (Top and bottom)

Paper Towel Experiment
Abstract: The overall question that was trying to be answered during this experiment was: Which
paper towel brand is the strongest? Before completing the experiment, the hypothesis was that out of
Bounty, Brawny and Sparkle, Bounty would be the strongest paper towel. This was because on
reviews for paper towels Bounty was almost always rated five stars, while Brawny and Sparkles had
lower ratings. To test this experiment, the first steps were to fill a container with water, and lay a
paper towel in it. Next steps were to let the paper towel soak up the water for five minutes, and then
take it out of the water when the timer went off. Final steps were to stack quarters on the center of
the paper towel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These steps would be repeated for all three paper towel brands. At the end of the experiment, the
paper towel that held the most quarters would be the strongest. Data for experiment still needed to
give a conclusion to project.
Introduction: Every paper towel brand claims to be the best, but which brand is actually the best?
The purpose of this experiment was to test the strength of multiple paper towel brands to see which
was the strongest. This information is useful to know because most people buy paper towels, and
would like to get their money's worth. Many websites that had reviews on paper towels had Bounty
rated at a five star. This leads many people to believe that Bounty is the best paper towel brand, but
doing this experiment was the true test to

  • 3. Testing Safety For A Laboratory Environment Introduction Working in a laboratory can be one of the most dangerous jobs to perform if you are not aware of the necessary precautions that need to be taken. Two of the main issues that can arise in the laboratory are improper use of sharp object and use of chemical. It is very important that proper lab safety skills are conducted to prevent potential incidents from occurring. Lab safety is not only to protect you from incidents but it is also to protect the people around you. Safety should always be first priority. There are three main topics that should always be practiced when working in a lab setting, Proper handwashing, safety techniques for yourself and others, and how to properly clean/dispose of hazardous material. After this lab, the expected result is a better understanding on how to properly conduct yourself in a laboratory environment. Methods and Materials The first topic addressed is how to properly wash your hands. The first unit of the lab consists of proper handwashing etiquettes. Proper handwashing in the laboratory requires running water, soap, and paper towels. Before washing one's hands, one should make sure all hand jewelry is taken off. Once the faucet is turned on, one should wet his/her hands before adding soap. After the hands have been wet and soap has been applied, one should thoroughly scrub his/her hands together for at least 20 seconds. A nail brush may also be used to clean up under the nails. After rubbing the hands ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Why Do Paper Towel Absorb The Most Water AIM: To determine which brand of 3 ply paper towel will absorb the most water HYPOTHESIS: Brands with thicker paper towels will absorb more water as there are more molecules present that are the key to absorbency in paper towels INTRODUCTION: The key to absorbency in paper towels are the fibers called cellulose molecules which are big molecules that consist of lots of tiny sugar molecules chained together. When a paper towel becomes wet, the water molecules rush in and cling onto the cellulose fibers which is why it is able to absorb the water. Therefore most of the time, thicker the paper towels means there will be more fibers resulting in more water absorbed. In this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The results in the table show that the paper towels from the brand Kleenex was able to absorb the most water as it was the thickess, therefere proving my hypothesis, thicker paper towels will absorb more water, correct. The results also showed that different paper towels absorb different amounts of water, some more and some less. The fibers that make up the paper towel are what enables the towel itself to absorb water. The more fibers, the more water is absorbed which is why Kleenex was the most successful paper towel brand in this experiment as it was more thick and held more fibers. There weren't many weaknesses identified in the experiment design but there were a few disadvantages of doing this experiment, the main one being that whlist the paper towel was removed from the beaker using our fingers. This may of slightly affected the results as some of the water may of fell back into the beaker or were stuck to our fingers. To avoid this, tongs should be used instead. An unforeseen problem that arouse during the experiment was that we could not measure anything beneath 100ml with the 500ml beaker so we had to improvise and use a measuring cynliner which solved the problem but also affected the results as some of the water could've remained ... My friends and I all glanced at each other and sprinted out of the car because the last thing we wanted to do is get wet and stay like that for the next 5 hours or so of the day. Even before my feet touched the sand, I can see the tan coarse blanket that runs along the silky blue ocean. With every breath that I inhale, I smell the salt and as I get close and closer to the beach I feel the warm breeze. As soon as I touched the sand, my feet sank in it, and all the little grains of sand went through my toes, forming a perfect mold. With every step I took, I also felt something sharp poking my bare feet. When I looked down I saw a spiral, miniature seashell that was pointing its rough edges to the surface of the sand. One thing I've battled with ever since I was a teenager is acne; thankfully I didn't have it very severely but I struggled with it on my forehead as a teen, and then again all over my face after coming off the pill in late 2011. Going on the pill at 19 really helped regulate my skin and keep the acne away but since I started getting pregnant, breastfeeding, getting pregnant again...and again (!) hormones have wreaked havoc with my face and it hasn't been fun to deal with, to say the least. Then in May of this year I miscarried and I experienced breakouts like I'd never had before. I felt like my face had suddenly exploded with cystic, sore and painful spots which would not go away no matter what I did. Site E was located after Kimmel's Creek joined in with the river, where Kimmel's Creek brings fresh water and helps dilute or dissolve the salt. All this data helps find the reason why the farmers are having problems with growing their crops by the Nelson River. The hypothesis that was being tested was if the salt facility was leaking salt, then the crops will not grow. The hypothesis was supported by the data gathered because it proves that the seeds in the sites located near the salt facility did not grow at all, but the other seeds did when they were not affected. The passage was gloomy and cold. The kitchen lights were off and the only light came from the outside porch. When she opened the back door, a fine mist of rain whipped around the corner of the house. And her heart filled with joy when he replied. 'No! I will not send you away. And neither will I send you to live with your granddad.' 'Cross your heart...?' He bobbed his head solemnly, signalling with a cross my heart and hope to die. 'Now, off to bed. But first, take Clog for a quick five–minute walk. So, here she was waiting for Clog. • 28. Reflective Essay On Water Bottles If any given person were to walk into my dorm room they most likely wouldn't be too impressed with it. The one item that would stand out the most is water bottles. I have close to a case of empty water bottles just sitting around my desk, my nightstand, and piled up in the recycling bin. I refill each water bottle about 2 to 3 times after drinking one but now I'm all out and refuse to buy another case of water bottles. I never realized how harmful they are too the environment until this class. Never had I realized how much unnecessary waste I contribute into our environment and it's time for me to start finding positive alternatives. I have been using water bottles for as long as I can remember. In high school I would take about two or three water bottles a day, which was absurd now that I look back on it. If had known how harmful they are to the environment I most likely would've stopped using water bottles many years ago. I was pretty annoyed with myself when I found out that around less than 20% of water bottles are actually fully recycled and that I have just been carelessly using them all my life. After the first week of class I called my parents and asked if they could send me some money so I could buy a Hydro Flask, which is made of stainless steel. My father didn't understand why I needed such an expensive alternative when water bottles are so much cheaper. I was not going to keep bugging him to buy me one since he spends so much money on my tuition and everything ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Paint Learning Experience Why did you choose this particular photo to represent your Learning Experience? I chose this photo because the children truly enjoyed being able to do whatever they wanted with the paint; K really wanted to pour some of the paint directly onto the paper. What the photograph makes visible about the worth of process–oriented, open–ended work for both arts and social studies for preschool children? When children have the freedom to express themselves through a material, they will be more likely to fully enjoy and participate in the activity; if I had told K no, she may have lost interest in the painting activity. • 30. Paper Towel Experiment In this lab, three different brands of paper towel were tested to see which brand could absorb the most water. The brands that were tested were Bounty, Sparkle, and the Dutch Fork High School paper towels. To understand which paper towel would be the most absorbent one must know what makes paper towels absorbent in the first place. Studies show that, "Paper towels are made up of cellulose fibers, which also make up cotton, wood, and most other plants. These cellulose fibers are actually giant molecules that consist of many small molecules linked together. The small molecules that combine to make up cellulose are sugar molecules; that's the key to the absorbency of paper towels." (Brown, 2013). Other key factors that play into the absorbency ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bounty seems to be more absorbent because it has tight stitching, which creates a larger surface area than other paper towel brands. This means that there is a larger amount of cellulose fibers in Bounty paper towels. Bounty is also thicker and softer than both the Sparkle and Dutch Fork High School paper towels, which are major factors that play into the absorbency of a paper towel. Based on this research the hypothesis was if Bounty, Sparkle, and Dutch Fork High School paper towels are tested for water absorbency, then Bounty will absorb the most water since it has the greatest absorbency factors out of the three brands. There is constantly new paper towels being created and promising that they are more absorbent than others, but the only way people will know is by testing them out, which is why this experiment was conducted. In this experiment, the independent variable is the different brands of paper towel. The dependent variable is the amount of water each brand of paper towel absorbs in thirty seconds. • 31. The Core Value Of Integrity In The Workplace Integrity is one of the fundamental values that any organization seeks in an employee. The core values to integrity are honesty and trust. Integrity can be defined as the quality of possessing and adhering to high moral principles or professional standards. According to the Collins Dictionary online, "if you have integrity, your are honest and firm in your moral principles". Leaders of today believe that demonstrating integrity has become the most important characteristics of a leader. In big or small ways employees have the opportunity to demonstrate their integrity every single day. Some examples demonstrating integrity in a big way are; when someone is assigned a task that they are failing to complete, they go to their superior and tell them that they need help to complete the assigned task, instead of telling their superior that the task has been complete even though it was done incorrectly or not done at all. Another example of demonstrating integrity in a big way is; a cashier receives a fifty dollar bill from a customer and the bill is thirty–eight dollars, the cashier could easily tell the customer that the bill is forty–eight dollars and give the customers two dollars in change and put the ten dollars in their pocket, instead of giving the customer the correct change of eighteen dollars. • 41. The Effect Of Milk And Milk Of Magnesia On Seed Germination Background A seed is the plants way of reproducing and allows the plant to produce plants of the same kind. A seed is a developing plant that is bounded by a seed coat that covers the seed and usually has stored food and nutrients inside. Seeds allow the plant to reproduce so they don't become extinct. Radish seeds are rapid growing seeds that grow best in full sunlight with their own space, soil with a pH level of 6.5–7, water with a pH level of 7, and cool/moist soil. Lemonade has a pH level of 2.5 and is acidic, so the seed most likely will grow at a very slow rate compared to a seed with normal tap water. Milk of magnesia has a pH level of 10.5 which is more basic and higher than the pH level of water, the substance radish seeds grow best in. Therefore, the milk of magnesia might be too strong for the seeds and will cause them to either grow extremely slow or not at all. The effect of lemonade and milk of magnesia on seed germination can be measured by using a ruler and measuring the sprout growth of each seed in centimeters daily. Question Will lemonade and milk of magnesia affect radish seed germination and growth? Hypothesis If I have 5ml of lemonade and 5ml of milk of magnesia and dilute each liquid with 5ml of tap water and apply each solution twice to ten radish seeds, I believe the seeds will grow at a slower rate than radish seeds with 10ml of tap water.
