"Over Thanksgiving and Black Friday weekend over $14.7 billion in online sales took place, over
half of those on mobile devices." Market Watch
We live in the age of digital marketing, like it or not. Without a web site touting your wares you will
be dropped from the map that the herds of shoppers peruse.
Obviously, the first step to be a marketer in the 21st century: get a web site in place with your own
domain – one that you own. With that accomplished you must determine what degree you want to
participate in the evolving, and essential, three segments of a professional digital plan: content
development, web site development, and marketing campaigns. Let's take a closer look at each of
these so understand if you are making the best steps to advance your cause.
Content Development
Having quality content is the core of any successful web site – across all business markets and
industry categories. Typical this happens in phases for a small or medium size business. In a large

2. The Content Of Content Marketing
Let 's say that you 've done everything right. You 've created a killer website and even had a few
blog posts or articles shared amongst your friends and family. We 'll even say that you 've been
analyzing your website, looking at your traffic and determining what makes your visitors jump in
excitement. But, you can 't seem to break through the glass ceiling and into the world where having
a website really matters. This will undeniably leave you staring at your website thinking, "Now
what?" Naturally, there is so much more to building a website than simply creating awesome content
and getting it shared on social media. In fact, there is an entire world out there that simply revolves
around content marketing and different ways to bring that content to new audiences. Content
marketing is a huge part of what makes or breaks a website. Your content has to be geared towards
search engines so that it will pop up in search results. It must have keywords that pop out and mesh
with what people are actually searching. But, here 's the secret, your website must have all this built
into it too. This is where structured data enters the picture. Structured data is something that can
greatly improve the ranking of your website. Unfortunately, it is something that many web designers
over look as an important feature. What is the Purpose in Structured Data? When we use our human
minds to view a website, we have a certain capability to understand it well. This is because it was

Search Engines
A search engine is a website or program used to find information on the internet. That is a very basic
and semi–vague definition of what a search engine is and what they do. More specifically search
engines actually search the internet based on a keyword or phrase that the user inputs into it. Once
someone has begun to search for something on a search engine. The search engine finds relevant
information on the keyword or phrase that has already been gathered and organized. The gathered
information is then displayed to the user as search engine result pages (or SERPs) based on how
relevant it is to the search information they entered. That may be presented as websites, videos,
sound files, pictures, or other types of information or files. Also as more users search for different
key words or phrases the search engine beings to group search results that go along with similar
keywords and phrases so that future users can have access to the most up to date and relevant files
and information that is available on the internet.
The history of the search engine comes from like most invention, necessity. Once the internet had
been created it began growing rapidly to the point where it was getting harder and harder to navigate
and search for the information that you needed or were looking for. Something needed to be created
to alleviate this problem. The original search engine needed to be made. The first program to be used

Until recently, URL structure was largely ignored from an SEO standpoint. Nowadays, however,
SEOs are realizing the significant role URLs can play in rankings. These three important letters
serve as a substitute for an IP address, informing users and search engines on what the page consists
of. An ideal URL should be simple and straight to the point, without a series of confusing letters,
numbers and symbols. A well structured, easily readable URL can contribute to a boost in rankings,
especially for smaller businesses. URL's That Could Use Restructuring To give you a better idea,

WOMEN REACTIONS (228)
Two neuroscientists Ogi Ogas and Sai Gaddam gathered online data that revealed peoples' sexual
behaviors and sexual desires. The reasoning behind this research because historically sex researchers
have not been able to get good raw data or insight into peoples' true sexual tastes and sexual
behaviors because people keep theirs private. The usual way sex researchers try to figure this out is
through surveys or just by asking people what they are interested in or what arouses them or what
behaviors they did. They were not really able to verify this for themselves and there were many
thigns that people just would never be willing to share. With the use of the internet we vould get a
very clear picture into what people are actually doing because we could see what they are clicking

could finally get a window into peoples true social tastes. Some of the important terms, that was

The appeal of the Internet to these bodies was obvious, as it allowed disparate institutions to connect
to each others' computing systems and databases, as well as share data via E–mail. The nature of the
Internet changed abruptly in 1992, when the U.S. government began pulling out of network

This change in focus marked the beginning of the Internet's astonishing expansion. In addition to
text documents, the Internet makes available graphics files (digitized photographs and artwork), and
even files that contain digitized sound and video. Through the Internet, you can download software,

25. A Short Note On The E Commerce Market
1. Critically analyze the factors that led to Alibaba sustaining its leadership position in the Chinese
e–commerce market. During the late 1990's and early 2000's, the internet was not very popular in
China and people were ignorant to its proper use. Knowing this, Jack Ma decided to start this
internet user–friendly company that would allow his clients to perform business transactions with
other businesses/suppliers in China. He first started the company on a local level and as Alibaba has
seen success it has been expanding to the global market. Some of the factors that contributed to the
success of Alibaba in the Chinese e–commerce industry were:
First mover advantage: "Alibaba has a first–mover advantage that makes it very hard for competitors
to chip away at their lead in the market." (Dick Wei, Analyst, J.P. Morgan Securities Inc.,2 in 2007).
Alibaba started its operations when e–commerce in China was in its infancy stage. Considering the
potential of the budding e–commerce market, Alibaba started with operations that concentrated on
providing B2B services to SMEs that were aspiring to go global.
Smart competitive and marketing strategies: From an early stage, Alibaba had been focusing on
differentiating itself by providing better services to its customer. It put an innovative business model
in place where customers could try out its services without any cost. Over time, it was able to
generate revenue from alternative streams and increase revenue as

26. Web Analytics : A Tool For Business And Market Research
Web analytics is the study of how users interact with the websites by recording user related data,
which helps in identifying different aspects of user's behaviour. It is the measurement, collection,
analysis and reporting of web data for the purpose of understanding and optimizing web usage. Web
analytics can be used as a tool for business and market research and to assess and improve the
effectiveness of a website.
Web analytics essentially involves data collection and data can be collected in two ways, the
traditional method is a web server log file analysis and the second method is page tagging, which
uses JavaScript embedded in the web page. The collected data is processed to produce web traffic
reports. The companies use different web analytics softwares like Google Analytics, Omniture,
Coremetrics etc. to find out information about their visitors, including how they interact with the
pages in a site, how long they stay on their site, how many people visited their site, how many of
those visitors were unique visitors, how they came to the site and what links they clicked on and
when they left the site. Web analytics can give a significant competitive advantage to a company;
one of the best examples is 'Amazon'. Amazon uses analytics at every level and scale. Amazon has
it's own analytics tool called 'Amazon Web Services', which collects the data about the customers
who visit their site, analyzes the data collected to uncover the buying patterns of different customers

Security and privacy concerns present challenges for law enforcement combating deep web criminal
activity. Crimes committed on or with the Internet are relatively new. Those crimes include illicit
trade in drugs, weapons, wildlife, stolen goods, or people; illegal gambling; sex trafficking; child
pornography; terrorism and anarchy; corporate and sovereign espionage; and financial crimes.
Police agencies have been fighting an uphill battle always one step behind an ever evolving digital
landscape and the criminals who exploit it. The novelty of the Internet begets jurisdictional and legal
issues law enforcement must address while remaining ethical and holding to the code of law. Due to
the anonymous nature of deep web criminal activity and the means for uncovering perpetrators,
privacy concerns of citizens legally using the same software or websites are now a hot topic.
The Internet is vast. To the casual user, the Internet represents the collection of those websites
accessible via search engines such as Google or Bing. Search engines function by utilization of a
web crawler which locates and indexes linked pages that are then provided as search results when it
meets a particular search's criteria. But, those web crawlers are only able to identify static pages,
leaving out the dynamic pages of the deep web. Imagine a commercial fishing trawler on the open

The amount of human participation is dependent on the complexity of the accessibility issue. For

standardized responses. Other more complex questions require greater expert participation. Such an
approach seems more appropriate for the Dark Web, where the complexity of the access process can
vary significantly. UA's AI Lab developed an accessibility metric: databases accessed/total
attempted which helps evaluate their crawler design to access dark web forums. The closer the
metric is to 1 the better the design is. 8.2. Collection Type Crawling research had been geared
toward collecting websites, blogs, and web forums. There has been considerable research on a
collection of standard websites and pages relating to a particular topic, often for the portal building.
There has also been work on collecting weblogs. BlogPulse is a blog analysis portal. The site
contains an analysis of key discussion topics/trends for roughly 100,000 spidered weblogs. Such
blogs can also be useful for marketing intelligence. Blogs containing product reviews analyzed using

Google's Mission Statement:
"To organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful."
How is the search engine industry changing?
The search engine industry is commonly known to have started in 1990 with the release of Archie, a
tool used to search the (pre–web) Internet, allowing people to find specific files (Buganza, T., Valle,
E.D. Search Computing. In The search engine Industry. Edited by Ceri. S & Brambilla. M.). As the
evolution of search engines continued, the development of the most popular search engines today
came about; Yahoo, Google, MSN and Bing. According to a recent study; Google remains the most
used search engine in the world with an average of 114.7 billion searches and a 65.2% market share

37. Smart Crawler, For Efficient Harvesting Deep Web...
As deep web grows at a very fast pace, there has been increased interest in techniques that help
efficiently locate deep–web interfaces. However, due to the large volume of web resources and the
dynamic nature of deep web, achieving wide coverage and high efficiency is a challenging issue. We
propose a two–stage framework, namely Smart Crawler, for efficient harvesting deep web
interfaces. In the first stage, Smart Crawler performs site–based searching for center pages with the
help of search engines, avoiding visiting a large number of pages. To achieve more accurate results
for a focused crawl, Smart Crawler ranks websites to prioritize highly relevant ones for a given
topic. In the second stage, Smart Crawler achieves fast in–site searching by excavating most relevant
links with an adaptive link–ranking. To eliminate bias on visiting some highly relevant links in
hidden web directories, we design a link tree data structure to achieve wider coverage for a website.
Introduction The deep (or hidden) web refers to the contents lie behind searchable web interfaces
that cannot be indexed by searching engines. Based on extrapolations from a study done at
University of California, Berkeley, it is estimated that the deep web contains approximately 91,850
terabytes and the surface web is only about 167 terabytes in 2003. More recent studies estimated that

Women involved in street prostitution are subjected to 'routine' violence and in the last 7 years, there
have been unresolved murders and suspicious deaths, (Women's Support Project 2001). Historically,
policing practices have been 'heavy–handed' and local government has sought to limit the spread of
'indoor' prostitution. This is in contrast to the population of 'indoor' prostitution in Edinburgh, which
is approximately (90%) with only around 50 women involved in street prostitution, the proportion of
