Banking Management
CASE–01: BANKING ON RELATIONSHIP
The birth of ABC Bank took place after the RBI issued guidelines for the entry of new private sector
banks in January 1993. Subsequently, the promoter of ABC Bank sought permission to establish a
commercial bank and retained KPMG, a management consultant of international repute, to prepare
the groundwork for establishing a commercial bank. The Reserve Bank of India conveyed its
approval in principle to establish ABC Bank on February 11, 1994. Thereafter, the Bank was
incorporated under The Companies Act in September 1994. The ... Show more content on

applications in recent years. This paper shows Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor in Hybrid
electrical vehicle is proposed by an interface of boost converter, interleaved converter and inverter
as an integrated circuit. An inverter/converter circuit is designed in such a way so as to operate or
control the HEV during different modes of operation. The integrated circuit in HEV will operate as a
boost converter or interleaved converter depending on the load condition. The proposed integrated
circuit will reduce the current ripple and voltage ripple hence it will leads to reduction in switching,
conduction losses, and thermal stress on the motor. The effectiveness of proposed integrated circuit
is simulated in MATLAB/ Simulink. The simulation shows that the integrated circuit have a high
efficiency and can be used at high power application. Keywords–boost converter; interleaved

Advantages Of Privatisation Of India
Looking at the present day scenario, many such models have been up and running successfully.
Many projects have reached pinnacle of success. But there is also a need to see this transformation
from the society's perspective and analyse the true costs and benefits for the country. It is also
important since many projects for development of new airports with private participation are also
coming up at different airports all over across the country. On one hand we can see the business
models for the Delhi and Mumbai but on the other, the transformation has led to a question on the
long–term effects of the privatisation. There are questions being asked like What will be given the
utmost importance: Corporate profits or will it be customer safety ... Show more content on

Industry is undergoing a transformation that has taken its market towards higher competition level.
For this, major investments are required which is achieved through the process of privatisation.
There are three major economic benefits which can be attributed to the privatisation. Those are
increasing operational efficiency, better management and marketing skills and lastly better
investment decisions.5 According to the (Paper 7), the main benefits which can be attributed to the

The Problem Of Tb Infection And Disease Management
MTB has been associated with human disease for thousands of years and this success to great extent
is due to its ability to survive within the host for months or even decades in latent state. In the past
few decades, however, it has also evolved itself into various new forms, especially as multidrug
resistant (MDR) and extensively drug resistant (XDR) forms causing several outbreaks. For
outbreak and contact tracing, DNA fingerprinting technology is now an accepted and widely used
method. The population structure of MTB is geographically subdivided, and these genetically
different lineages have adapted to their local human populations, as is evident from molecular
epidemiology. However, scientific evidence for such an adaptation is ... Show more content on

Owing to the special geographical diversities and living conditions, the predominance of different
genotypes might imply their long–standing presence in these regions and may be linked with
exponential contact with other populations.
Mounting evidences suggest that MTB evolved as a human pathogen in Africa and further spread
took place with the first migrations of modern humans out of Africa around 70,000 years ago.
Among many of the early studies of phenotypic and genotypic relevance, the one consistent finding
was that tubercle bacilli from South India were less virulent and more susceptible to oxidative stress
when compared to isolates form Great Britain. South Indian strains were also found to be devoid of
sulpholipids. Even though strains of these earlier studies were not genotyped, on the basis of our
current knowledge of the global phylogeography of MTB, it can be assumed that most of the South
Indian strains belonged to Lineage 1 (Indo–Oceanic)[17]. We found clear demarcation in the
compartmentalization of MTB lineages of this study isolates with respect to their geographical
locations. Clustering can be used in post–genomic data analysis to group strains with similar traits.
Clustering of individual SITs varies from region to region. Although spoligotyping may correctly
identify "outbreak" episodes and can track the spread of the

A STUDY OF MIGRATION IN MAHARASHTRA (2007–2008) " If you don't have migration you
wouldn't be able to fill important jobs to keep the economy going" (McKinley, n.d.)1 Introduction
Human Migration is defined as the movement of people from one place to another in the quest for a
better life. The movement could be very well across the borders of a country or within a country. It is
not a new concept and has occurred throughout the human history, the first human movement being

migrate. Example– low job opportunities, low wages, war, floods, caste or race discrimination, etc 2.
Pull Factors: The factors that attract people are called pull factors. These might provide an incentive
for people to leave one place and settle somewhere else. Example– more jobs, better education,
higher wages, etc Majority of the people migrate with the intention of a better life that was not
previously available to them. That might be in the terms of better work opportunity, healthcare
facilities, education facilities, etc. There are also some migration which are compulsory for an
individual to undertake and they have no other option, i.e., marriage and government transfers.
Objective– The reports aims to study the migration pattern of individuals in Maharashtra for the year

Customer Perception Based Brand Equity Analysis of Dinshaw's Ice–cream
Abhijeet Agashe *, Rupesh Pais**, Rashmi Shahu***
Abstract
A brand is a name that has the power to influence a buyer. Brand influence could be as a result of a
set of mental associations and relationship built up over time among customers or distributors.
Brand equity is the differential effect of a brand knowledge on a consumer response to the
marketing of a brand. The present study focuses on the study of the basic four dimensions of
customer–based brand equity on consumer`s perceptions of a brand viz. brand awareness, brand
loyalty, brand image, brand performance. This is based on the assumption that all these dimensions
of customer–based brand personality have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words brand equity can be said to be any asset or liability connected to a brand name that
adds or subtract a value to the product.
Conceptualization of Consumer–Based Brand Equity
Customer–Based Brand Equity is formally defined as the differential effect that brand knowledge
has on consumer response to the marketing of that brand. A brand is said to have positive customer–
based brand equity when consumers react more favorably to a product and the way it is marketed
when the brand is identified than when it is not (e.g., when the product is attributed to a fictitious
name or is unnamed). (Kevin Lane Keller 2004).
Thus, a brand with positive CBBE equity might result in the consumers' acceptance of a new brand
extension, less sensitiveness to price increases and withdrawal of advertising support, or willingness
to seek the brand in a new distribution channel. On the other hand, a brand is said to have negative
customer–based brand equity if consumers react less favorably to marketing activity for the brand
compared with an unnamed or fictitiously named version of the product. The main ingredients of
consumer based brand equity are differential effect, brand knowledge, consumer response in
marketing.
Brand Awareness
Brand awareness refers to the strength of the brand presence in the consumer's mind. It is the ability
of a potential buyer to recognize or recall that a brand is a member of a certain product

The main target of feature selection is choosing a best feature set from a large number of features.
The main advantages of feature selection are removing irrelevant, redundant and reduce noisy data.
II. FEATURE EXTRACTION Feature extraction is most important step in the process of CBIR.
Feature extraction is a method of transforming input data into set of features [2]. The different
feature extraction is colour, texture and shape. Features are classified as low level and high level.
The low level feature contains colour, texture and high level feature contains shape. The various
feature extraction are describing in below:
COLOR EXTRACTION
Colour is most extensively used feature for image retrieval. Several techniques such as colour
coherence vector, the colour co–occurrence matrix, vector quantization, and colour moments are
used to extract colour feature from original images. Normally colours are defined in three
dimensional colour spaces, which are RGB (Red, Green, and Blue), HSV (Hue, Saturation, and
Value) or HSB (Hue, Saturation, and Brightness)

Problems With World Bank Hydroelectric Project In Chamoli
World Bank investments in a hydroelectric project in Chamoli, India have led to human rights
violations, debt, and will likely cause increases in utilities costs. In 2015 Human Rights Watch, an
international non–governmental organization dedicated to exposing human rights violations,
released the report "At Your Own Risk" which gave compelling evidence detailing a pattern of
reprisals against critics of World Bank funded projects. According to the report, residents of
Chamoli, as well as nearby villages, who criticized a World Bank funded hydroelectric project were
subject to insults, intimidation, and threats by employees of the Tehri Hydro Development
Corporation India Ltd. (THDC). The report describes the World Banks complicity in allowing
harassment tactics by its funding recipients, including the THDC, even though "Both the World
Bank (the Group's public lending arms), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) (the
Group's private lending arm) have policies that require them to consult communities and safeguard
against causing harm to them and the environment through their investments" (Human Rights

Race, class, gender, pragmatism, social justice, and other sociological factors play an important role
in many tort cases as well. There are many tort law perspectives by which a tort case can be
analyzed namely: Law and Economics; Corrective Justice; Critical Race Theory; Critical Feminism;
Pragmatism; and Social Justice. In this essay I am mainly bringing out the facts of the tragedy and
the importance of Law and Economic Perspective, which favors an industry such as the Union

favor of the people of Bhopal.
Law and economics is an interdisciplinary field that applies economic theory to examine the

little attention to justice, fairness, or distribution. It is a tool to assess the costs and benefits that

Critical Study of Animal Attacks and Government Policy
Jungles are calling: Critical Study of animal attacks and government policy
We are fond of progress, mines, speedy trains, luxurious homes, and of smooth roads and at the
same time we want a peace of mind where we can take a rest for few days in the jungles or in
remote area from the chaotic and tensed urban life. That clearly shows human being has fond of
development as well as environment. Over to the time this fact is accepted that sustainable
development and protection of environment are two side of one coin. Recent incidents shows that
supporters of both the side are conflicting with each other like these are enemies of each other's.
Recent statistics from Maharashtra shows that compensation amount which is given to the victims of
the animal attack is too high and that can be wisely and effectively invested into the precautionary
measures and for the rehabilitation of the animals. Many animals like elephants, tigers, peacock etc.
are getting unnatural death because of trains in many areas of country. We are using the jungles to
build dams, railway tracks and many things which are for the development of the human fraternity,
but at the same time we are not thoughtful about water places, ways of the animals and which are
resulted into the attack of the animals on people. Even then no one is serious about preserving
jungles. Indian railway has planned to cut down 2800 Km forest for the widening the railway line in

Financial Development Of The Indian Finance Industry
Money related Industry is the foundation of a present day economy. Soundness of Financial industry
is a standout amongst the most essential pre–conditions for managed monetary advance of any
nation. The universe of Finance has accepted another measurement at the beginning of the 21st
century with the coming of innovation, in this manner loaning the business a stamp of
comprehensiveness. By and large, Financing might be delegated retail and corporate Financing.
Retail Financing, which is intended to meet the necessity of individual client and energize their
investment funds, incorporates installment of service bills, customer advances, Visas, financial
records equalizations, ATMs, exchanging reserves amongst records and so forth. Corporate
financing, then again, obliges the requirements of corporate clients like bills marking down, opening
letters of credit and overseeing money.
The Indian Finance Industry scene has changed radically with the private division making in street
in a zone heretofore commanded by expansive open area Finance Corporations. Developing
disinvestment is probably going to affect the money related industry also. There is each plausibility
of privatization of open division Finance Corporations, prompting to more prominent operational
self–governance.
The improvement of the Indian budgetary segment has been joined by the presentation of new
standards, for example, Income Recognition and Capital Adequacy, by the administration. The last

Rural Labourers and Urban Non–Manual Employees. However, the last index has been replaced in
2011, by one that measures prices changes in goods and services consumed by the rural and urban
population. We used the Consumer Price Index as opposed to using the price data from the
Wholesale Price Index as the later measures wholesale price changes whereas we are mainly
interested in studying variations in retail or consumer's purchase prices for the purpose of this
project. Hence, we obtained price data from the Labour Bureau of India website. The price index we
used was Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers. This was chosen as it is the index mostly
widely used for calculating salaries and allowances and as our product, being part of individual's
diets, will be a major constituent of the expenditure incurred by consumers and calculating arbitrage
possibilities using consumer prices from this index seemed most

ABSTRACT
Designing horizontal–axis wind turbine (HAWT) blades to achieve satisfactory levels of
performance starts with knowledge of the aerodynamic forces acting on the blades. In this paper,
HAWT blade design is studied from the aspect of aerodynamic view and the basic principles of the
aerodynamic behaviours of HAWTs are investigated. Firstly, blade design procedure for an optimum
rotor according to CFD analysis as well as analytical calculations. Then designed blade shape is
modified such that modified blade will be lightly loaded regarding the highly loaded of the designed
blade and power prediction of modified blade is analysed. When the designed blade shape is
modified, it is seen that the power extracted from the wind is reduced about 10% and the length of
modified blade is increased about 5% for the same required power.

Causes Of The Indian Mutiny
The Indian Mutiny, also known as the Indian Revolt, was a war between the Indians and the British.
Basically the war was due to the prolonged British occupation over the land of the Indians. The war
was the first war that the Indians fought over their independence and the Sepoy Mutiny. The British
launched their presence in India during the 17th century. This was at the part time of the Mogul
empire. At this period of time, the territory of Bombay had just been acquired by the East India
Company which had over the years expanded its territory. The company had a strong army which
eventually took–out the French after the Battle of Plassey, 1757, hundred years earlier. The army of
the Indian soldiers was compromised of British soldiers who acted as the commanders. They were
called sepoys. This war was propelled by several causes and eventually resulted to several
consequences. We shall start by looking into the causes. These causes were mainly as a result of the
policy of westernization.
Introduction of the British 'Doctrine of Lapse'
This was basically a doctrine that placed rules on inheritance of power and land. It offered
permission to the British empire allowing them to be able to expand their empirical domain. This
expansion was supposed to be carried out at the expense of the Indian Princes. It was by forbidding
persons who were not natural heirs from inheriting any state. The policy was also extended to
princely titles and pensions. States that eventually lapsed into

Marketing Plan For Store Branded Food Products Essay
CHAPTER–5
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
5.1Introduction
Since the 1980s, an increasing number of varieties of store–branded food products have reached the
market, sold by retail supermarkets and mass–market wholesale entities through partnership
agreements with national and regional brand manufacturers (Kim, 2001). Store brands are retail–
inspired products marketed, controlled, and sold exclusively by retailers in competition with brands
controlled and marketed by manufacturers (Kim, 2001). Store branding is not a new concept. The
early 20th century produced important store brands consumers readily accepted, originating through
retail development projects for similar or identical consumer products. These products offered
legitimate quality and value choices for cost savings of disposable, non–food products, as opposed
to nationally or regionally known products (Kim, 2001).
Recently, an increasing number and varieties of perishable food products (i.e., refrigerated and
temperature sensitive) have been added to the expanding retail store branding trend. These growing
product categories now include dairy, juice, meats, and cheese.
The expansion of store brands reduced long–term competition and consumer choice while leading to
increases in price and corresponding decreases in overall quality (DeWulf et al., 2005). Direct
access to consumer responses (regarding existing or developing quality and value relationships) may
be of value to manufacturers prior to entering into agreements

Abstract
The driving behavior of driver related with safety and traffic flow. The behavior of the driver in tier
city toward the red light violation varies on basis of various factors. To arrive their particular
destination people drive the vehicle faster and because of that accident will occurs. The red light
violation data collected by using videographic method. The main aim of this analysis to find the
relation between the behavior of red light violation and various factors such as speed of vehicle,
type of vehicle, gender etc. The analysis is done by using Logistic Modeling Method. This method
shows the red light violated done by younger driver are at high speed than that of middle age driver
and old drivers . The coefficient of explanatory variable age after calculation is negative its shows
that in accordance of the age of violator goes on increasing the possibility of age of red light rule
violator goes on declining. It has been seen that all age of driver are more likely to voilates red light
when green light turn into amber light and amber light turn into red light.

Struggling to Define Industry in the Industrial Disputes Act
INTRODUCTION
No other provision of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (hereinafter ID Act) has been under as much
scrutiny as the definition of 'industry' given under section 2(j). To avail the benefit of the ID Act, it
is necessary for the worker to prove that his place of employment falls under the purview of the
definition of 'industry' in s 2(j). Over the years the judiciary has laid down certain tests and criteria
to determine and limit (or as seen later, expand) the scope of the legislation to extend the benefits to
workers in different establishments. One such issue was to examine if educational institutions
(universities, schools, etc) would fall under s. 2(j). This essay starts by tracing the judicial
developments with regard to educational institutions under s 2(j).
ARE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS 'INDUSTRY'?
The concern of education as 'industry' arose for the first time in Corporation of Nagpur v Its
Employees . It was held that the education department of the corporation was a service being
provided and would therefore fall under 'industry'. The question was again addressed in Delhi
University v Ram Nath in 1963. The argument presented was that widest meaning should be given
to s. 2(j) along the line of the decision in Hospital Mazdoor Sabha , wherein it had been stated that
'industry' expressly included 'services'. The working principle stated that the activity should involve
the co–operation of the employer and employees with the object of satisfying material

Goods And Services Tax : Pros And Cons
GOODS AND SERVICES TAX: PROS AND CONS
INTRODUCTION
Currently, Goods and Services are taxed separately by different authorities at different sectors at
different rates which is time consuming and becomes difficult for maintaining records for
businesses, traders and suppliers. It also increases the price of goods due to cascading effect of tax
and multiplicity of tax which creates problem for the end user.
Goods and Services Tax (GST) is the current topic which is continuously in flash under the scenario.
First of all, we have to understand the meaning of GST. Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a
comprehensive VAT system which will ultimately ensure flow of uninterrupted credit among
different sectors whether in manufacturing of goods, sale or consumption of goods and services. It is
one indirect tax which will be levied on the supply of goods and services at the national level which
will make the entire nation (India), a single or common market. Almost all indirect taxes will be
eliminated, once GST comes into power. One of the most basic feature of Goods and Services tax is
that consumers will have to pay the tax for one time at the final level of the transactions on the
supply of goods and services but not at the various levels. The thing which is more interesting about
Goods and Services Tax is that it will avoid both 'cascading effect' and 'multiplicity' of tax. Here, the
word 'cascading effect of tax' means paying of tax on tax which is already paid on previous purchase

International Cricket Essay
South Africa is one country where India have always been found out. Only two victories out of 17
Test matches in the Rainbow Nation, is a clear reflection of their struggle on those wickets, where
there has been a plenty of pace, bounce and sideways movement for the fast bowlers, both in the air

is regarded as one of the toughest challenges and no team barring England and Australia have

Once again, prior to this important tour of South Africa, the same lethargic approach is being

But there is also a need to see this transformation from the society's perspective and analyse the true costs and benefits for the country. It is also important since many projects for development of new airports with private participation are also coming up at different airports all over across the country. On one hand we can see the business models for the Delhi and Mumbai but on the other, the transformation has led to a question on the long–term effects of the privatisation. • 10. The Problem Of Tb Infection And Disease Management MTB has been associated with human disease for thousands of years and this success to great extent is due to its ability to survive within the host for months or even decades in latent state. In the past few decades, however, it has also evolved itself into various new forms, especially as multidrug resistant (MDR) and extensively drug resistant (XDR) forms causing several outbreaks. For outbreak and contact tracing, DNA fingerprinting technology is now an accepted and widely used method. The population structure of MTB is geographically subdivided, and these genetically different lineages have adapted to their local human populations, as is evident from molecular epidemiology. However, scientific evidence for such an adaptation is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Owing to the special geographical diversities and living conditions, the predominance of different genotypes might imply their long–standing presence in these regions and may be linked with exponential contact with other populations. Mounting evidences suggest that MTB evolved as a human pathogen in Africa and further spread took place with the first migrations of modern humans out of Africa around 70,000 years ago. Among many of the early studies of phenotypic and genotypic relevance, the one consistent finding was that tubercle bacilli from South India were less virulent and more susceptible to oxidative stress when compared to isolates form Great Britain. South Indian strains were also found to be devoid of sulpholipids. Even though strains of these earlier studies were not genotyped, on the basis of our current knowledge of the global phylogeography of MTB, it can be assumed that most of the South Indian strains belonged to Lineage 1 (Indo–Oceanic)[17]. We found clear demarcation in the compartmentalization of MTB lineages of this study isolates with respect to their geographical locations. Clustering can be used in post–genomic data analysis to group strains with similar traits. Clustering of individual SITs varies from region to region. Although spoligotyping may correctly identify "outbreak" episodes and can track the spread of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Customer Perception Based Brand Equity Analysis of Dinshaw's Ice–cream Abhijeet Agashe *, Rupesh Pais**, Rashmi Shahu*** Abstract A brand is a name that has the power to influence a buyer. Brand influence could be as a result of a set of mental associations and relationship built up over time among customers or distributors. Brand equity is the differential effect of a brand knowledge on a consumer response to the marketing of a brand. The present study focuses on the study of the basic four dimensions of customer–based brand equity on consumer`s perceptions of a brand viz. brand awareness, brand loyalty, brand image, brand performance. In other words brand equity can be said to be any asset or liability connected to a brand name that adds or subtract a value to the product. Conceptualization of Consumer–Based Brand Equity Customer–Based Brand Equity is formally defined as the differential effect that brand knowledge has on consumer response to the marketing of that brand. A brand is said to have positive customer– based brand equity when consumers react more favorably to a product and the way it is marketed when the brand is identified than when it is not (e.g., when the product is attributed to a fictitious name or is unnamed). (Kevin Lane Keller 2004). Thus, a brand with positive CBBE equity might result in the consumers' acceptance of a new brand extension, less sensitiveness to price increases and withdrawal of advertising support, or willingness to seek the brand in a new distribution channel. On the other hand, a brand is said to have negative customer–based brand equity if consumers react less favorably to marketing activity for the brand compared with an unnamed or fictitiously named version of the product. The main ingredients of consumer based brand equity are differential effect, brand knowledge, consumer response in marketing. Brand Awareness Brand awareness refers to the strength of the brand presence in the consumer's mind. Design of Comparator for Successive Approximation Analog–Digital Converter Manali Matey Department of Electronics Engineering YCCE Nagpur, India manali.matey@gmail.com Swati Nitnaware Department of Electronics Engineering YCCE Nagpur, India swatitidke02@gmail.com Abstract–SA–ADCs are widely used in low–power applications. Three architectures of the capacitor array Digital–Analog Converter (DAC) used in SA–ADC that are mentioned in this paper are binary–weighted DAC, unary–weighted DAC and segmented DAC. In this paper comparator is been designed for all these SA–ADC architectures. The comparator used in SA–ADC plays an important role. The main purpose of the comparator is to compare a signal with a reference signal and produce an output depending on whether the input signal is greater or smaller than the reference signal. The structure of the comparator does not depend on the segmentation degree (i.e. the number of unary bits), for all the binary, segmented, and unary structures, the same circuit configuration with similar power consumption can be employed. Keywords– Successive Approximation Analog–to–Digital Converter (SA–ADC); comparators; segmented capacitor–based digital–to–analog converter (DAC); unary capacitor–based digital–to– analog converter (DAC) I. The universe of Finance has accepted another measurement at the beginning of the 21st century with the coming of innovation, in this manner loaning the business a stamp of comprehensiveness. By and large, Financing might be delegated retail and corporate Financing. Retail Financing, which is intended to meet the necessity of individual client and energize their investment funds, incorporates installment of service bills, customer advances, Visas, financial records equalizations, ATMs, exchanging reserves amongst records and so forth. Corporate financing, then again, obliges the requirements of corporate clients like bills marking down, opening letters of credit and overseeing money. The Indian Finance Industry scene has changed radically with the private division making in street in a zone heretofore commanded by expansive open area Finance Corporations. Developing disinvestment is probably going to affect the money related industry also. Basically the war was due to the prolonged British occupation over the land of the Indians. The war was the first war that the Indians fought over their independence and the Sepoy Mutiny. The British launched their presence in India during the 17th century. This was at the part time of the Mogul empire. At this period of time, the territory of Bombay had just been acquired by the East India Company which had over the years expanded its territory. The company had a strong army which eventually took–out the French after the Battle of Plassey, 1757, hundred years earlier. The army of the Indian soldiers was compromised of British soldiers who acted as the commanders. They were called sepoys. This war was propelled by several causes and eventually resulted to several consequences. We shall start by looking into the causes. These causes were mainly as a result of the policy of westernization. Introduction of the British 'Doctrine of Lapse' This was basically a doctrine that placed rules on inheritance of power and land. It offered permission to the British empire allowing them to be able to expand their empirical domain. This expansion was supposed to be carried out at the expense of the Indian Princes. Marketing Plan For Store Branded Food Products Essay CHAPTER–5 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY 5.1Introduction Since the 1980s, an increasing number of varieties of store–branded food products have reached the market, sold by retail supermarkets and mass–market wholesale entities through partnership agreements with national and regional brand manufacturers (Kim, 2001). Store brands are retail– inspired products marketed, controlled, and sold exclusively by retailers in competition with brands controlled and marketed by manufacturers (Kim, 2001). Store branding is not a new concept. The early 20th century produced important store brands consumers readily accepted, originating through retail development projects for similar or identical consumer products. These products offered legitimate quality and value choices for cost savings of disposable, non–food products, as opposed to nationally or regionally known products (Kim, 2001). Recently, an increasing number and varieties of perishable food products (i.e., refrigerated and temperature sensitive) have been added to the expanding retail store branding trend. These growing product categories now include dairy, juice, meats, and cheese. The expansion of store brands reduced long–term competition and consumer choice while leading to increases in price and corresponding decreases in overall quality (DeWulf et al., 2005). Direct access to consumer responses (regarding existing or developing quality and value relationships) may be of value to manufacturers prior to entering into agreements ... • 69. Struggling to Define Industry in the Industrial Disputes Act INTRODUCTION No other provision of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (hereinafter ID Act) has been under as much scrutiny as the definition of 'industry' given under section 2(j). To avail the benefit of the ID Act, it is necessary for the worker to prove that his place of employment falls under the purview of the definition of 'industry' in s 2(j). Over the years the judiciary has laid down certain tests and criteria to determine and limit (or as seen later, expand) the scope of the legislation to extend the benefits to workers in different establishments. One such issue was to examine if educational institutions (universities, schools, etc) would fall under s. 2(j). This essay starts by tracing the judicial developments with regard to educational institutions under s 2(j). ARE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS 'INDUSTRY'? The concern of education as 'industry' arose for the first time in Corporation of Nagpur v Its Employees . It was held that the education department of the corporation was a service being provided and would therefore fall under 'industry'. The question was again addressed in Delhi University v Ram Nath in 1963. The argument presented was that widest meaning should be given to s. 2(j) along the line of the decision in Hospital Mazdoor Sabha , wherein it had been stated that 'industry' expressly included 'services'. The working principle stated that the activity should involve the co–operation of the employer and employees with the object of satisfying material ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 75. Goods And Services Tax : Pros And Cons GOODS AND SERVICES TAX: PROS AND CONS INTRODUCTION Currently, Goods and Services are taxed separately by different authorities at different sectors at different rates which is time consuming and becomes difficult for maintaining records for businesses, traders and suppliers. It also increases the price of goods due to cascading effect of tax and multiplicity of tax which creates problem for the end user. Goods and Services Tax (GST) is the current topic which is continuously in flash under the scenario. First of all, we have to understand the meaning of GST. Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a comprehensive VAT system which will ultimately ensure flow of uninterrupted credit among different sectors whether in manufacturing of goods, sale or consumption of goods and services. It is one indirect tax which will be levied on the supply of goods and services at the national level which will make the entire nation (India), a single or common market. Almost all indirect taxes will be eliminated, once GST comes into power. One of the most basic feature of Goods and Services tax is that consumers will have to pay the tax for one time at the final level of the transactions on the supply of goods and services but not at the various levels. • 77. International Cricket Essay South Africa is one country where India have always been found out. Only two victories out of 17 Test matches in the Rainbow Nation, is a clear reflection of their struggle on those wickets, where there has been a plenty of pace, bounce and sideways movement for the fast bowlers, both in the air and off the pitch. Hence, prior to such a high–profile assignment, your preparations have to be full–proof if you are going there with a realistic chance of winning a series – which according to many experts, Virat Kohli's Indian team has on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To acclimatise themselves to the English conditions, they got just one three–day game before the first Test and one in the middle of the series. Later that year, in Australia, they were again whitewashed in the four–Test series. There too they played one two–day followed by one three–day game before the first Test. Following those series of overseas defeats, there was a lot of hue and cry in the Indian cricket fraternity. Despite that, in the next tours of England and Australia, the Indians got only one extra warm–up game. They lost both the series with 3–1 and 0–2 margins respectively. Once again, prior to this important tour of South Africa, the same lethargic approach is being repeated by BCCI. However, this lack of co–operation from the board has recently forced the Indian team management to come out with a radical idea of using the just concluded India–Sri Lanka series as a warm–up for the tour of South Africa. The thank–thank tried to emulate the foreign conditions by asking for green tracks for the series. "Yes [we requested for the pace–friendly wickets], because unfortunately, we get only two days before we fly to South Africa after this series gets over. So, we have no choice but be in a game situation and think of what's coming ahead of us. Had we got a month off, we would have done a proper preparation in a camp sort of scenario," the Indian captain had to no hesitation to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
