in-education/
8. Why Gamification?
“People often say motivation doesn’t
last. Neither does bathing—that’s why
we recommend it daily.” – Zig Ziglar
9. Dr Wayne Holmes, Zondle’s head
of Education, became convinced
of the pedagogical benefits of
gamification while conducting
research for his Ph.D. in Education
at Oxford University.

Editor's Notes
I am Michele Freeman from Riverside High School and I will be presenting Gamify With Zondle today.
In 1989, I took my first computer programming class in BASIC. Thank goodness, education has come a long way since then.
To increase student retention, we must inspire them.
The Pedagogy Wheel is arranged according to the levels of Blooms’ Taxonomy. Action verbs and activities for each level along with the suggested apps are listed. I predict Zondle will be on here one day.
Gamification creates a paradigm shift in the classroom. The teacher is no longer the “sage on stage.” She is the “guide on the side.”
Gamification motivates and engages the student. When students are engaged and motivated, they want to learn. I’ve had many students spend countless hours outside of the classroom working on Zondle. My students thought they were just playing a game. They didn’t know they were learning.
Click on the box, then click on format, then click play, then click the play button on the video
As mentioned in the video, it’s free!
The package option allows teachers to draw together
* Notes, links and images in word files* Audio files* Videos - e.g. linked to through You Tube* Zondle games of all types and descriptions
You can set topics for your students to play. They can even play these outside of school on their mobile devices.
Each time students play games on a topic, it is recorded. You can click on the plus sign beside the grade to see a graph depicting their progress.
Go to arkansasteacher account in zondle. Then go to 1st period. Click on the plus sign beside the first student and show the graph of student progress and the weakest questions listed. Go to gradebook and show that. Then show the certificate available. Finally, play the FBLA game in Basketball.
