• is a graphical representation of the ground
drawn to scale.
Things needed:
1. Pencil
2. Eraser
3. Bond paper
4. Ruler
5. Ball pen (optional)
Marginal Information of the Map
1. Sheet Name or Title – means the name of the
map. This should be placed on top of the map.
Marginal Information of the Map
2. Sheet Number – this should be placed on the
upper right-hand corner of the map.
Marginal Information of the Map
3. Scale – this should be placed center down of
the map.
Marginal Information of the Map
4. Legend – this should be placed on the lower
right-hand corner of the map.
Marginal Information of the Map
5. Edition Note – This should be placed on the
lower left-hand corner of the map.

Layout Specifications
Example #1
A one hectare layout of a conventional pond
system with the following specifications.
Area = 10,000 m2
NP = 1% of the transition pond
TP = 9% of the production area
RP = 80% of the production area
CP = At least 2% of the NP
Scale = 1:100m convert to Cm.
How to Scale?
1. Scale the Area
10,000 m2 = 125 m x 80 m
Solve for
125m = 125m/100m = 12.5m or 125 cm
80m = 80m/100m = 0.8m or 80 cm

1. Scale the Rearing Pond
10,000 x 80%
= 10,000 x 0.80
= 8,000 m2 ( 80 m x 100 m)
Solve for
80m = 80m/100m = 0.8m or 80 cm
100m = 100m/100m = 1m or 100 cm

Draw a Canal, salvage zone and
River/Coastal water source
Demonstration:
Area: 15,000 m2
NP: 10% of Transition Pond
TP: 15% of the production area
RP: 75% of the production area
CP: At least 2% of NP
Scale: 1:100m, convert to Cm
Modular Type
Layout Specifications
The NP comprises about 4% of the TPA.
The TP covers only 6% of the TPA.
The RP is divided into three Production Process
Sates (PPS).
Demonstration
Area: 10,000 m2
NP: 4% of the total production area
TP: 6% of the total production area
RP: 90% of the total production area. Divide it to 3
PPS.
1st PPS: 25% of the Rearing Pond
2nd PPS: 35% of the Rearing Pond
3rd PPS: 40% of the Rearing Pond
Scale: 1:100m convert into Cm.
