zine had the
chance to interview one of 3 head de-
signers of the COOGI clothing line,
Brian Rothwell.
Rothwell says unlike other top de-
signers who present a new collection
every spring or fall, COOGI comes
out with a new collection every
month. “Each designer (at COOGI)
is responsible for 2-3 collections a
month.”
“Each designer represents a lifestyle.
Different types of racing, or archery,
or the nautical feel, can inspire a de-
signer. Anything from traditional, au-
thentic garments from back in the day
and the art that goes with the lifestyle.
As a designer I pay attention to the
details then formulate all that into a
group. Nothing can look the same-t-
shirts, polos, denim-all the garments
have to blend together but not look
the same. It all coordinates, but it
cannot look the same.“

T he 8440w, the latest update to the HP corporate worksta-
tion line, builds in capabilities beyond the average 14-inch
notebook. The 1600-by-900-pixel, LED-backlit screen is a cut
above most 14-inch displays, allowing more visible windows
to be on tap when you’re working in a multiple-application
environment. The 8440w’s expansion options are more prosaic, however. You get four USB ports
(three on the left, one on the right; the last doubles as an eSATA port), plus a mini-FireWire con-
nector and the requisite audio input and output jacks. Display outputs--an analog VGA port and a
DisplayPort connector--grace the rear of the unit. A 2-megapixel Webcam is built into the display
bezel.

Hydrophobia is an upcom-
ing 2010 survival-adventure
video game developed by
Dark Energy Digital and
published by Microsoft
Game Studios on Xbox Live
Arcade.[2] Originally slated
for retail release on Micro-
soft Windows, PlayStation
3, and Xbox 360, the game
has since been scheduled for
release in episodic form on Xbox Live,[3][4] with a PC and
PlayStation 3 version planned for later release.[5] The game
was originally scheduled for release in March 2009,[6] but
since it was revealed that the game would be an episodic
online release initially, it has since been confirmed that the
first episode will release on Wednesday 29th September
2010, as part of Microsoft’s “Game Feast”.[4] The game’s
engine, HydroEngine, provides realistic fluid dynamics
technology for flowing water, allowing it to interact with
the surroundings. The levels of Hydrophobia were designed
using InfiniteWorlds; a game creation system which uses
bespoke procedural technology to significantly reduce file
sizes, making the game much faster to download

SNOOK DA ROKK STARR IS A
BONAFIDE HIP-HOP ARTIST!
Metro City Magazine’s
Juliette Janel recently met
with local hip-hop artist
Snook da Rokk Starr at the
Lavish Entertainment stu-
dios to talk music, life, and
Snook.
Snook da Rokk Starr is a
“rock star” and a hip-hop art-
ist. “Snook”, which means
“defiant”, is a nickname that
was given to him when he
was a little boy. “I was hard-
headed, Don’t touch that
fire…ow” Snook says with a
laugh.
Snook has been rapping for
10 years, 6 of those years
seriously. He was introduced
to rap by his brother in New-
ark, NJ, who rapped locally
in their hometown. When
Snook came to Columbia to
attend Benedict, he noted the
freestyle, and he has since
developed a passion for the
art of rapping.
“I listen to other genres of
music. Gotta listen to my
rock. Wouldn’t be da Rokk
Starr if I didn’t. Coldplay,
Nickelback, Plain White
Tees…And of course, the
R & B.”
25. WE HIT THE LOTTO!!!
That’s right; you read it correctly. Lotto Lambo, or Lambo Lotto, is what this local
rap artist from the 321, North Main side of town, is called these days.
Lotto Lambo is one half of the Lavish Boys rap duo. I sat down and spoke with
Lotto on being a fairly new rap artist (you won’t believe how new), among other
things.
MC-Ok. Your (stage) name. Lotto Lambo.
LL-Yeah, Lotto Lambo, Lambo Lotto. I have 4 or 5 different names.
When asked how he came up with this original stage name, he replied the two
words sounded sweet together. “Everybody wants to hit the lotto, ya know. That’s
a whole lot of cheese” he explained. “And lambo is just fans, exotic cars…” Read
more to get the insight of one of the most “lavish boys” to hit Da Metro.
MC-So, how long have you been rapping?
LL-I began taking it seriously this year…
MC-You mean like 2010?
LL-Yeah.
MC-What? That’s amazing.
LL-Yeah, I put Thrax Factor (his first and cur-
rent release) together back in January.
Lotto Lambo explained that, like everyone
else, he did a little rhyming growing up,
and that he wanted to become a rapper.
Now it’s more a business for him. “I
know a lot of people in the industry
(from the business end) analyzing the
game and the direction it’s headed in.
I’m a business man. (Rapping) is a
fun way to get a check.”
When asked about rapping being
passionate about rapping “I’m not
gonna say rapping is my passion,
but I’m passionate about rapping.
I love music, but you know at
the end of the day I try not to get tied
down with something that has one angle.”
26. The conversation continued about his music as well as
MC-Do you listen to other genres of music?
LL-Yeah. I listen to everything. I don’t listen to a lot of rap. A lot of the rap out there n
like to relax when I listen (to the music). I listen to a lot of old rap.
MC-Describe your style of rap.
LL-It’s like…ya know, you need a translator. It’s for people that’s on the other side of th
