The Challenges Of Public Speaking
Question 1 What are somethings you feel you do well? Think about the talents you already know
you have, and ask friends and family what they think you 're good at. You might be surprised by
what they say. I do well communicating and socializing with others. I am friendly, dependable and a
good listener. I adapt to change quickly, I like to be organized and I am well with managing my time
wisely and efficiently. Question 2 What challenges you? The things that challenge you might be
opportunities to improve and move forward your goals – and they might suggest areas of study and
work that will keep you interested long into the future. My biggest challenge is public speaking.
However, despite being terrified of public speaking I always ... Show more content on

many people wrong and until this day she continues to do so. Question 5 What 's something you
have always wanted to try? Consider your reasons for wanting to do this – and why is it you haven 't
done this yet. Do you find it exciting? What do you expect to get out of it? I have always wanted to
attend to one of the Women 's World Cup, this is something I haven 't been able to do because I
haven 't gotten the chance but it 's definitely on my bucket list which I hope to accomplish someday.
I find this very exciting and I expect it to be an unforgettable experience. Question 6 What
accomplishment has made you most proud? Your answer might have nothing to do with a hard–won
A or a trophy – it might be the time you stuck up for someone who needed your help. What you 're
proud of can help you see what matters most to you. My biggest accomplishment was about 3 years
ago, when I had the opportunity to visit ASU campus for 2 weeks on a scholarship for a nursing
course. This was very important to me because it was a once in a lifetime experience where I met a
lot of amazing and bright students who shared the same interest as me. Question 7 What 's your
favorite class? Don 't limit yourself to the subject that comes easiest to you. Think about which
classes make you lose track of time. Is it the teacher or the subject matter that holds your interest?

The U.S. Soccer or Football
INTRO
In the U.S soccer or football hasn't caught on quite just yet. Even though the American people have
had recent success like in the 2002 World Cup and the 2009 Confederations Cup. Though extremely
popular in European countries, soccer took a long time to gain momentum in the United States
because Americans put more money and attention into other sports like baseball, football, and
basketball. Soccer eventually became popular in the 1970s, but then lost popularity again when the
National League went bankrupt.
U.S soccer started when the English settlers came to populate America. The game was originally
played across an entire town with two nets at either end. Players tackled each other to get the ball to
one end of the town and in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The US finally made it to the semi–finals of the World Cup in 1930, which increased the sport's

The Benefits Of Golf
What is golf? According to the New Oxford American Dictionary, golf is a game played on a large
open–air course, in which a small hard ball is struck with a club into a series of small holes in the
ground. The main goal is to use the fewest possible strokes to complete the course. This activity of
hitting a dented ball with a stick demands the usage of 17 muscle groups to only make a golf swing
according to a study in the British Medical Journal; therefore, coordinated muscle use and burning
calories than gymnasts proves that golf is a sport and that golf is included as a sport. In order to
swing a golf club, one's body utilizes at least 17 various muscle groups in the coordinated movement

In addition, golfers need professional athletic ability to walk long distances – average of 4 to 5 miles
per 18 holes and to hit long drives with consistent depth and aim, as claimed by ProCon.org.
Therefore, golf requires much more physical movement then what most people believe. Most
viewers of golf assume that golf is boring due to the lack of amount of movement and energy. Yet, in
an actual match, the TV broadcasts usually cut out the part where the players move around to other
sections of the course. Thus, it is a prejudice of thinking that golf does not require much physical
movement. Critics might argue that the real reason why golf may not be a sport is due to the fact that
the regulation on drugs and other problems is relatively low compared to other sports in the
Olympics. Soccer, for instance, unknown

Significance And Consequences Of The Lyndi Fourie...
After the horrific events that occurred during the Apartheid in South Africa, Ginn Fourie and Letlapa
Mphahlele established the Lyndi Fourie Foundation as a reconciliation technique that would
peacefully unite South Africans. The foundation was established after the murder of Lyndi Fourie.
Her death was orchestrated by Mphahlele's Azanian People's Liberation Army (APLA) as an act of
retaliation in 1993. Fourie and Mphahlele first met during a trial with the Truth and Reconciliation
Council (TRC) where the former was granted political amnesty. After the consultation, they

In regards to its effectiveness as a reconciliation technique, the foundation's head facilitator Liz
Calvert stated that "each participant worked successfully on forgiving their families, the community,
alcoholism, and creating a vision for the future," (Beyond Forgiving). Calvert's statement
demonstrates that the foundation is effective as it ensures that participants are collectively focused
on forgiving each other, themselves and improving for the future. Furthermore, one participant was
quoted as saying "it was time he forgave his dark side. He has a dark side and it's time for him to let
it go," (Beyond Forgiving). Therefore, not only from the perspective of the facilitator, but from the
participant's perspective, reconciling through this means is effective. In addition to promoting
forgiveness, the focus on the development of the future indicates that South Africans are
cooperating. This is compelling evidence to show unification amongst South Africans. Despite the
supporting evidence, it is important to address the economic setbacks. Without any external

Favelas are where approximately 11.4 of the 190 million of Brazils' population resides. Favelas are
typically built when squatters (a person who unlawfully occupies an uninhabited building or unused
land) occupy vacant land at the edge of a city and construct shacks of salvaged or stolen materials.
These areas are known to be areas with crime and extreme poverty; the people who live there are
socially outcasted and are usually ignored by upper class citizens. These areas are home to the
people who cannot afford to live in cities like Rio de Jainero or São Paolo, because of the raising

Nation Branding-Best Practices Through Sports, Laws and...
Sports:
Another factor of substantial importance which plays an active role in nation branding is how the
country portrays itself in various sports. Before we look in to the aspects of this, excerpts from the
recent interview with Mr Simon Anholt, the brilliantly caustic, not conventions driven and
outspoken nation branding (or as he prefers, 'policy advisor') expert, by Germany's Deutschland
Magazine about the relationship between sports and nation branding and sportsmen and nation
brands only weeks ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa is given below in brief. This
presents an insight in to the nation branding as a whole and in to the Sports domain as a measure of

Hosting the 2006 Soccer World Cup catapulted Germany to the top of the NBI in 2007 and 2008 ...
Yes indeed, but as I predicted, the effect didn't last very long. Enhancing a country's image is a relay
race, not a sprint, and countries need to become obsessive about asking themselves "What do we do
next?" Germany hasn't followed up on its World Cup success, so people are starting to revert to their
previous beliefs about the country. This always happens and it can only be prevented by projecting a
constant, unbroken stream of dramatic evidence that the country deserves the reputation it desires.
Even in countries where Germany did not previously enjoy a great reputation, the country's image
was massively enhanced after what has gone down in the history books as "Germany's summer
fairytale". Does this mean that some elements of the "brand essence" are in fact very volatile, in
other words, nice weather, high spirits, exciting matches is all it takes to change an image? Is it
really that simple?
No, they really aren't volatile at all: quite the contrary. National image is more like a fixed asset than
a liquid capital, and normally can't be changed at all. Nothing could be more difficult than changing
any of these attributes. I have great respect for the way in which Germany managed to "move the
needle" on its image during the World Cup, in exactly the way it wanted to, but it hasn't been able to
make this sustainable. One must distinguish

When the 1957 season started, Pelé was given a starting place in the first team and, at the age of just

official website as well as the advertisement on TV. These information is also combined with the
knowledge of marketing mix and positioning acquired earlier in the course. The main concepts
mentioned have been sourced from Brassington F. And Pettitt S.(2007). Discussion will focus on the

The target market of Hublot aims to the young entrepreneurs at the age of 25~45. Compared with
other luxury watches consumers, those entrepreneurs are younger, and they prefer the sense of future
plans. At the same time, they are the generations of the "Internet". Take the USA and China for
example, most Internet users are 20~40 years old. The are more likely to accept the creative
products rather than the historical classic ones, and they are believed to be influenced by the
information on the Internet much easier.
In terms of Internet and media, Beaver created Hublot TV in June, 2006, which becomes the first
one to create an online television channel of luxury brands in history. The television will broadcast
all kinds of news of the brand and spread around the world. Furthermore, Hublot also take
advantage of the usage of communication web. Up to now, Hublot have more than 370 thousand
fans on Facebook, and keep the rapid growth.
Young entrepreneurs are energetic, dynamic and vigorous. Swiss watch brands have always been
keen on sponsor sporting events. Rolex and Wimbledon have a cooperation up to 42 years, their
spokesperson varies from classical musicians to tennis super star. Omega has been the official
timekeeper in the Olympic Games 22 times, and held the quite famous Lake Golf Competition. In

Persuasive Essay : Why Soccer Is A Coed Soccer?
When I was in middle school I played the sport called Soccer. The main reason that I decided to play
soccer for me is because my friend's Jazmin and Cassie how are girls and Evan how is a boy were
all able to play soccer together. We could all be on the same team together because middle school is
coed soccer. That comes to reason soccer is the main sport I think of as a coed sport. But as I found
out that is only true until students are out of middle school. Then the coed is no more. In high school
and on to being professional, there are a few clubs that may have coed if there's not enough players
for each gender to be none coed.
Some thing that you may not of known is that one of the first coed sports is soccer because there
was not enough females to make there own team. (Snow) There are quite a few reasons that soccer
is not a fully a coed sport anymore. One of thoughts reasons is that until a child goes into puberty
both girls and boys are built generally the same. Then after puberty guys will generally become
stronger, easier then girls physically can. Also there are fewer girl athletes that have the speed to be
able to keep up with the boy athletes in soccer.
I believe that high is also a problem because it seems to be easier for a guy to accidentally nock over
a girl wen running then a girl nocking over a guy. The reason for this is because guys are broader
then girls normally and weigh more also. Which could cose bad injure like when I resale some of

Essay On Sport As A Unifier
Ro–ee Tal 12–N Physical Education Written Task
A: Sport as a unifier
1. Yes, I do believe sporting events contribute to unifying a nation. Majority of people an any given
nation tend to enjoy and support sporting events, irrespective of the sport itself. As a result, sport
acts as a common ground between people of different socioeconomic, religious, racial and other
backgrounds. This common ground forces people of different backgrounds to interact and to treat
each other with sportsmanship and equality. Therefore, sport both lowers and raises every single
type of person to the same level, which allows for them to integrate with each other in positive ways
and unify them as equals. For example, when South Africa scored their first ... Show more content

Doping in sports occurs for two reasons. The first being the physical difficulty and requirement of
the sport. The second being the etiquette and attitude in the sport. Take cycling and bodybuilding for
example. The training and records each year are increasing, and athletes believe the only way for
them to compete with these records is to dope because it is almost physically impossible to lift 300
kg or cycle for 21 days without a break in the times people are getting today. On the other hand, no
one in table tennis dopes, because they are not physically challenged to extreme degrees. Therefore,
the physical requirements and stress that a sport puts on athletes can cause them to result to doping.
Another reason some sports are more prone to doping is based on the sport itself. Take golf for
example. Golfers or inherently and stereotypically sophisticated, moral, upstanding and classy,
which is why they do not dope. They simply do not see cheating as part of the game and wish to
take no part in such obscenities. Therefore doping in sport is also reliant on the attitude that is

Even though soccer was being played thousands of years ago, the sport didn't experience mass
expansion until it reached England. While the sport was still in early development, rules were not
truly implemented which brought about some violent behaviors between the players, ultimately
resulting in the sport being banned by the king at the time, King Edward III. This ban was set into
place around the year of 1365. This ban was introduced to Scotland a few decades later. Around the
year of 1424, Scotland 's King James I decided that no man will be allowed to play football
("football" is how many foreign countries have named soccer).
For centuries, the activity of the sport seemed to become lost, but there was a resurgence of the sport
around the year of 1815, This is where many of the modern rules that are set in place today came
into focus. A couple of college universities brought forth a system of rules for the sport which were
known as the Cambridge Rules, the original official set of rules for the game. The game had been
created with two versions, one in which later became known as rugby, while the other kept the
traditional soccer style that many have come to love and enjoy. There was no concrete foundation of
soccer until about the year of 1869 when the Football Association banned any type of ball handling
with the hands. This is the first look at globalization. British sailors, soldiers,

Brazilwood was a key product for Portuguese trade. But the focus on timber would soon change.
Cash crops in the form of sugar cane production became the focus. Slavery was needed for the
growing of sugar cane and replaced the unsuccessful usage of native people for labor. "Regular
slave trade between Brazil and Africa was begun in the 1550s as a temporary measure to replace the
Indians decimated by war and disease, but it lasted for over 300 years, and the institution of slavery
persisted until 1889, Brazil being the last country of the American hemisphere to abolish it." The
agricultural focus of sugar cane changed to coffee bean production in the late 19th century. As
coffee began to take off, slavery was abolished. With the influx of Africans halted, foreign
immigration was promoted. This would have a profound effect on the societal make–up of the
colony. Mass migrations were already occurring as the Portuguese had established their minute

It is clearly evident that benefits of soccer are numerous and noteworthy. Not only does soccer have
many benefits, it is a unique sport because of its many notable achievements. Some of these
achievements include world record breakers for both men and women. It is believed that Pele was
considered the greatest soccer player of all time. In 1960 he was called a "national treasure" (Helmer
and Owens, 17). Pele helped Brazil win its first World Cup in 1958 at the age of seventeen. His
determination could be seen when he became injured in 1962, yet was still able to win the World
Cup for Santos. Even though he was injured again in 1966 he played outstanding in the 1970
tournament. He retired from International soccer in 1971 and also from club soccer in 1974. He later
came back to play for the New York Cosmos from 1975 to 1977 (Gifford, 54). In twenty–one years,
Pele played 1,324 professional games and scored 1,282 goals, including 8 goals in a single game
(Helmer and Owens, 17). Women's soccer has also had many notable achievements. Mia Hamm
from the United States, who was born with a partial club foot, overcame her disability to become the
youngest player ever for the U.S. women's team at the age of fifteen. Hamm won two Olympic gold
medals and one silver. She was the leading scorer in history of women's international soccer, being

The Culture Of Soccer Is More Than Just Articles
The culture of soccer is more than just articles written in sport pages, or rumors about players been
transferred from one club to another. It includes a bigger picture that covers many different social,
political and economic aspects of the game. In countries where the sport is not that relevant, people
refer to it as soccer. In others where the sport is very popular and has been around for a long time, it
is referred to as football. When it comes to the sport, there are two very different ideas relevant to
how people view it. In said countries where soccer is the national sport, the game is viewed as if it
can achieve anything; from having just fun with your friends to helping unite people from around
the world. In other countries where the sport is not as much popular, the game is seen as boring and
is looked down on. This paper will explore how soccer is growing at such a rapid pace despite the
fact that it can be viewed as violent and boring. Americans have become a big part of soccer in the
more recent years. They have achieved a very surprising growth in the popularity of the sport. Part
of them see soccer as boring because of the lack of goals in a game. Sometimes during a match,
players create incredible plays which do not result in goal. But there are games where there are not
many great plays nor goals resulting in some very bored viewers which can be understandable.
Apart from the sport seen sometimes as boring, it also plays an important role in political

Fifa Women 's World Cup Essay
Thirty million dollars, that's what the German National Soccer team made last year for winning the
World Cup. The World Cup is one of the most prestigious accomplishments in any sport. The
players in the World Cup are some of the hardest working, highest paid athletes in the world. These
players are paid tremendous amounts of money by their club, their country, and FIFA. However this
is not the only World Cup, on a different four year rotation is the FIFA Women's World Cup. The
women in the World Cup are treated as inferior because of their gender in terms of payment, respect
and also treated poorly by their own governing body.
The FIFA Women's World Cup started in 1991 as a twelve–team tournament. It has since expanded
to a 24–team tournament that features tremendous athletic ability and intense competition. The
United States has won the Women's World Cup three times, more than any other country, and is
currently recognized by FIFA as the best team in the world.
The Federation International de Football Association, FIFA, or in English the International
Federation of Association Football, is the governing body of soccer and soccer related games, such
as futsal and beach soccer. FIFA is a non–profit organization with the responsibility of governing the
game of soccer by making the laws of the game, overseeing club and national completion, and
organizing championships. FIFA is also in charge of both the men and women's world cups. For the

Soccer Is The Most Popular Sport
Soccer is the most popular sport played throughout the world, especially in Europe and South
America. However, here in America it is not that powerful yet. Will America succeed in soccer?
How? In my opinion, America will be one of the biggest powers in soccer, with a good league –
MLS –and with a good national team. My goal in this paper is to give you reasons that the United
States have already had soccer in their list of main sports in the country, maybe the fifth one, after
baseball, football, basketball, and hockey.
If we go to deeper in the meaning of soccer, what is the goal of the sport? Use your feet to put the
ball inside the net. Why does football mean soccer in all over the world, but United States? If we
look at other languages, in Spanish is fútbol, in Dutch is voetbal, and in Portuguese is futebol. Why
do we call football or anything close to that in the whole world, but here football is the sport that we
use the hands for the most part? Those are good questions to think about. If we go to history, people
used to say that soccer and rugby were called football at first, but then they have split up because
some rules came up. Nevertheless, in my opinion, they should have changed the American football
name, but not soccer, because soccer is the sport played with the foot, not American football.
America is a super power in football, basketball, and baseball. Those are classified as American
sports. However, soccer is the most played sport in the world. Any sport

Women's Soccer : Gender Inequalities In Soccer
Gender Inequalities in Soccer
When it comes to sports men and women are rarely given equal opportunities to excel. This is the
case in soccer specifically, as many individuals over look women's soccer. Women are having to
play on turf fields which is causing more injuries compared to men playing on natural grass. Men
also make more money per match and they receive money if they lose, whereas the women do not
receive any money if they lose a match. While women are becoming more successful, the men's
team has been around longer and bring in more media coverage and endorsements for the league.
Despite the discrepancies found in media coverage of both teams, the US soccer federation and
Federation International Football Association should provide equal opportunities for both men's and
women's soccer teams.
Twenty years ago the United States started their first men's soccer league. The Major League Soccer
(MLS) started out in 1996 with 10 teams and has continued to grow the sport of soccer and the
league currently has 20 teams. On the other hand, women's soccer started a league after the U.S.
women's national team won the World Cup in 1996, but they failed to bring in revenue for the
federation. The women are now on their third league and are starting to bring in the same sales as
the men. Currently, when it comes to the national teams, the women are bringing in money for the
federation while the men are losing the federation money, because they are not winning as many

Brazil : The Millennium Development Goals
On the surface, Brazil does not appear as a country ravaged by poverty however, portions of it are;
and its environmental stability is an enormous factor of this. In 2000 the United Nations concocted a
plan to assist countries like Brazil; thus the Millennium Development Goals emerged. In essence,
the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs for short) are a set of targets set to challenge extreme
poverty across the globe. As Brazil is not a 'traditional' country in the subject of poverty so a specific
target had to be included for it to fit in with the MDGs. Target 9 includes two factors: the amount of
land covered by forest and the protection of biodiversity, which pinpoint Brazil as a country in need.
In Brazil, tourism and the need for lumber are dwindling both the biodiversity of the country, as well
as cutting down on the area of land covered by forest. Therefore, Brazil's ecology and demand for
resources cause it to be looked at as a country in need, despite its modernization being equivalent to
the rest of the world. With this being said, Brazil's ecosystem has remained relatively unaffected by
change in the last two decades. It will be challenging for Brazil to achieve the seventh Millennium
Development Goal of ensuring environmental stability due its lack of a strong governmental
structure, a dwindling economy, and the miniscule amount of groups assisting Brazil. The first
portion of understanding why Brazil is unable to complete the MDG goal of environmental stability

The Fifa World Cup Event
The FIFA World Cup, as one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world that comes around
every four years, is often assumed by potential host countries as highly profitable. Current research,
however, suggests that the economic growth experienced by these host nations due to the World Cup
event is lower than the expectations they had. Specifically, a number of economists assert that no
observable short–term economic growth exists within the tourism, retailing, accommodation, and
employment sectors of each one of the host countries (Allmers& Maennig, 2009). As for the long–
term impacts, some scholars insist that the World Cup cannot boost the four sectors listed above
(Baumann, Robert, Bryan Engelhardt, and Victor A. Matheson 2012), while others argue that other
beneficial factors, that do not affect the host countries in the short term, generate economic profits
for host countries in the long term (Maennig, 2009). Some scholars even critique this claim,
however, arguing that the new factors won't bring profits to host countries.
In my opinion, the World Cup seems to give the allusion that it will benefit the economy right away
in the short run, but this not necessarily true. On the other hand it is beneficial to the host countries
and the international economy in the long run, assuming that different factors are considered in the
long–term analysis. These factors include the novelty effect of new stadiums, the feel–good effect
on citizens, and the World Cup's effect

Since the age of six my favorite national soccer team has been Mexico. Soccer came to Mexico by
European industrial workers and Spanish Civil War exiles at the end of the 19th century. It was then
used by industrial companies as a way to instill unskilled workers with modern labor practices such
as cooperation with other employees and competition. Due to this, many of the early football teams
such as Pachuca, America, and Necaxa were associated with industrial companies. The sport
appealed to workers because it gave them new identities, cost little, and provided entertainment
along with socialization opportunities. Eventually, soccer became the number one sport in Mexico
for boys; thus, leading to The Mexican Football Federation being founded

Urban Politics Of The Brazil
Urban politics of poverty in Brazil have been highly publicized over the past few years. In large
part, this is due to capital spending on the creation and renovation of stadiums for the World Cup in
2014 and the Summer Olympics in 2016. Imagine waking up every morning and walking outside to
slum–like conditions. Right next to those slum–like conditions are brand new athletic stadiums that
will primarily used for about a month. It must be infuriating seeing public money be spent on flashy
buildings, meanwhile, homes, parks, schools, and more are not given nearly enough funding that is
required for complacency. Yet, much of what an individual sees may be interpreted differently.

Urban politics in Brazil happen to be the exact reason why housing, transportation, inner–city crime,
and more happen to occur in the favelas. Brazil is suffering from inconsistent political agendas
which ultimately, has created collective effort by citizens to riot against uneven development. All
throughout Brazil they built new state of the art stadiums, meanwhile there was a massive issue of
poverty occurring. Favelas in Brazil can be found throughout the country. Most famously, Rochina,
a favela in Rio De Janeiro sits massively entrenched on a hill in between a mountain range. Just
below Rochina lies Rio's developed downtown area. Maracanã, a local stadium in Brazil that was
subject to much criticism, just miles away from Rochina was renovated heavily to be the standard
for all stadiums. Accord to NPR, further outcry embellished when a brand new stadium in Manaus
was built. Manaus is located in the middle of the Amazonas state (in the Amazon Rainforest) and it
is only accessible by boat or plane. That is how far out of the way this city is. Yet, Brazil decided to
invest in a brand new stadium in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest rather than invest in its
people. There is increasing hope that the arena will draw future investors, businesses, and home
developers/renovators to the area. However, it is unlikely that this occurs quickly if at all. Amazonas
is amongst the poorest states in Brazil, which infers that

Soccer And Globalization Essay
Globalization is erasing country borders. It's expanding something to a worldwide scale, and
generally making the world a little bit smaller. When you think of globalization in terms of sports,
the best example is soccer. Soccer is something that started in 1863 as a simple game played in
England by people of humble beginnings and not long after that turned into a worldwide
phenomenon (Parrish). Soccer has over 3.5 billion fans worldwide. When you really think about that
number you realize how big of a deal that is. That's about 50% of the world's population. Meaning
that 1 in every 2 people watch, play, and generally enjoy soccer. The globalization aspect of it comes

According to Branko Milanovic of Yale Global Online: Soccer is the most globalized sport. Owners
of any sporting team demand and pay for top talent from anywhere in the world. Before 1995,
soccer rules in Europe limited the number of foreign players to a handful per club. A Belgian player
successfully protested that the rules violated European laws on labor mobility and discrimination.
Since then, the doors have opened wide and skills in the game have improved, though talent is
increasingly concentrated among the wealthiest teams and nations. (Milanovic) The fact that they
took it as far as bringing up labor laws and discrimination so as to demand to play in a different
country's team shows these players' passion for playing with a strong team, and their passion for the
game. Although players play for football clubs throughout the years, when the World Cup roles
around most players return to their country of origin as a way to still represent their national pride.
Over the years, soccer has seen more and more globalization. During my research I came across a
couple of charts that explain it all very clearly. There are flags of national teams on the top of the
chart and flags of football clubs on the bottom of the chart with lines drawn that connect the two.
The lines represent what football club a country's players play when they don't play for their
national team. These lines are connecting all kinds of combinations of players

Popularity of Soccer Around the World Essay
Popularity of Soccer Around the World
I am going to talk about the most popular sport in the world: football. Now, you may be having
visions of huge quarterbacks, dressed up in their padding and helmets, parading down the field
during the Super Bowl. But the other kind of football, the football the rest of the world knows, has
no padding or helmets. This other football is known in America as soccer. In more than 175
countries across the globe, football, or soccer, rates as the number 1 national sport.
Football dates back as far as thousands of years ago. There are records that show that ancient
civilizations of Greece, Egypt, and China (among others) played an age–old form of football with a

In the present there are more than 2 million players registered with official football organizations,
and about 275,000 clubs play in official leagues and tournaments. The World Cup, held every four
years, is the highlight of football tournaments. Held by FIFA (of course), it lasts 1 month, and on
this month, the world's eyes are on the World Cup. In 1994, over 1 billion people watched the World
Cup, and the events leading up to it. The fans are everything to football. The pride of their city or
country equals the pride of their football team.
A football game is not about sitting and quietly watching the game while eating hotdogs and
peanuts... it is a wild fiasco! The fans dress up in costumes and their team colors, they paint their
faces and bodies and sing songs in unison about their team. The stadiums are gigantic and chaotic.
The Maracana Stadium in Brazil is usually filled up to it's capacity with 220,000 screaming fans.
Once, many Brazilian fans fainted in the stands when they lost to Uruguay. The popularity of this
sport also has it's downsides. It has even been deadly. For instance, in 1969 the qualifying games
between El Salvador and Honduras caused a war between the 2 countries. There had been conflict
between the countries, but things boiled over when they clashed on the playing field, sparking a
full–scale war that lasted 2 weeks.

the economy is typically supported by mining and agriculture with technical support provided by
businesses. According to the Economic Freedom Index of 2017, the Cameroonian economy is partly
driven by the export of minerals such as oils and natural gas and the surplus from the agricultural
sector such as those from cocoa beans (Vreyer & Roubaud, 2013). Even though the export business
is not well developed due to the weak institutions and political situation, a greater part of the
economy is still dependent on exports. The export sector, therefore, comprises a mix of
commodities. The major trading partner of Cameroon is China with an estimated export valued at
$679 million and import estimated at $1.37 billion (Aguir, 2014). The country also trades with other

Indonesia Needs Sex Education in Order to Combat Unwanted...
A. Reproductive health services have and currently do struggle against obstacles including religious
beliefs, governmental policies, educational shortcomings, and governmental financial
circumstances. With the increase in reproductive health medicine and technology, an increase for the
global standard of living, and women's rights movements worldwide, global access to reproductive
health services is becoming more and more of a priority. Topics such as abortion and form of
contraception are highly debated. "Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim–majority nation,

This will help prevent infant fatalities, infant malnourishment, and maternal fatality during birth.
C. Indonesia's proposition to achieve these goals and to provide global access to reproductive health
services is quite simple. The committee should make a resolution which requires governments to
create and fund a board which is given the task to provide the citizens of the country (ranging from
youths to young adults to adults to the elderly) with adequate education in relation to sexual
intercourse and the consequences of intercourse and all other sex related issues. The board would
also provide various contraceptives for either free (funds permitting) or as discounted as possible.
The board would have to provide various contraceptives in order to meet the standards of the
individual receiving the contraception's religious beliefs. This would help significantly reduce
sexual related problems seen in today's world, such as abortion, STDs, and unwanted pregnancy.

Providing financial stability for a country is a large task, specifically for one like Brazil who has a

change and growth. Many degree and believe it take more than one month to change a lifetime of
errors. Citizens have not only been living in poverty for their lifetime, many families have known
the Favelas as home for decades. For change to be effective it needs to begin with the top(upper
class and government), and it will trickle down to and reach the lower class natives. Sponsorship can

whom don't want to be helped, what about the people who will abuse the help, or the ones who don't
deserve it and belong in jail. That is the catch to my solution, the funding made from the events will
go into housing projects (sponsored by the companies). Eliminate the Favelas and the bad reputation
that comes with them. Build new homes like we have here in the United States. Low Income
Housing is an income based project which allows you to have a decent apartment at a lower housing
rate. Many Americans have benefitted from these housing developments, however they are required
to maintain a certain income to remain a resident. Another program the government can implement
(with the aid of sponsors) is the American Red Cross WIC (Women, Infant, and Children) Program.
This is a state funded program that can be easily be copied to aid lower income citizens. Provide
classes and meal assistance to families to teach healthy eating and a healthy life. This can reduce the
health cost of the country and maybe even pave a way for a new healthcare system. Brazil may not
have all the monitory support that we have in the US, but with the aid of sponsors and a percentage

Nike Football: World Cup 2010 South Africa
511–060 Nike Football: World Cup 2010 South Africa Nike Football revenue had grown from $40
million in 1994 to more than $1 billion in 2008. In just under 15 years, it had reached a sales level
that took some of its competitors over 50 years to achieve. Although not the end goal, the 2010
World Cup was another unique moment in time for Nike to create separation between the company
and its competitors. Edwards knew he had to seize this opportunity and pull his team together to
deliver a campaign focused on delivering innovative products and compelling consumer
experiences. Creating deep consumer connections during the World Cup would be vital for fueling
continued growth for Nike football in the years ahead. Football and the ... Show more content on

in 1985, and cross training in 1987. The company expanded into apparel in 1986, and expanded into
non–sporting shoes in 1988, with the acquisition of Cole Haan. That same year Nike unveiled their
"Just Do It" marketing campaign that, along with the iconic swoosh, helped define the brand in the
coming years. By 1990 Nike was the leader in sports shoes and apparel, and dominated running,
basketball, tennis and cross–training. In 1995 Nike moved into ice hockey with the purchase of
Canstar Sports. In 1996, Nike golf landed a vastly talented but as–yet unproven golfer named
Eldrick "Tiger" Woods. Nike also began investing in the sport of cycling, including in a promising
young cyclist who appeared to be on his way to success, until he was diagnosed with cancer. He lost
most of his sponsors, but Nike stood by him. In 1999, Lance Armstrong's incredible comeback

Introduction
The FIFA World Cup in Brazil took place from the 12th of June to the 13th of July 2014. Attracting
approximately one million foreign tourists in just one month (Loretta, 2014) it was without a doubt
the major global sporting event of the year. Discussions about holding such an event in yet another
developing country where controversial from the start and with regard to the 2016 Olympic Games
also held in Brazil, they still are.
In this essay I want to evaluate to what extent Brazil as a tourism destination benefitted from the
World Cup – or not – and how this affects the destination in the long term. Therefore, I firstly
provide three positive impacts on Brazil, of economic, social and environmental nature. This is
followed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be in a positive way e.g. gaining of the knowledge but also in a negative way, such as
staged authenticity. Furthermore, they can have positive and negative environmental impacts,
namely an improvement of infrastructure or littering. Lastly, there can be economical impacts (Page
& Connell, 2009). Although these can prove negative in the long term, most economical
impacts are positive because the tourists come and spend money at a destination.
If we take a look at the perspective of Brazilian tourism with regard to events such as the World Cup
2014, we can conclude that a lot of its success depends on the Olympic Games of 2016. Ainsworth–
Wells (2013) describes the preparation of Rio for the Olympic Games as rather positive: "If I could
draw a graph depicting Rio de Janeiro's trajectory and status against these factors as it prepares to
host the 2016 Olympics it would currently be somewhere in the middle, but heading in one direction
– upwards" (Ainswort–Wells, 2013). Positive developments, such as the fact that the
accommodation sector is largely dominated by Brazilian companies or the renovation of port areas
through public–private partnerships, can be recognized. Yet one of the biggest concerns is the traffic.
As there will not be enough time anymore to work on the underground metro system, the city of Rio
aims at revolutionizing the bus system. Taking into account the fact that during the World Cup 2014
the vast majority perceived their visit

The Challenges Of Public Speaking

 • 1. The Challenges Of Public Speaking Question 1 What are somethings you feel you do well? Think about the talents you already know you have, and ask friends and family what they think you 're good at. You might be surprised by what they say. I do well communicating and socializing with others. I am friendly, dependable and a good listener. I adapt to change quickly, I like to be organized and I am well with managing my time wisely and efficiently. Question 2 What challenges you? The things that challenge you might be opportunities to improve and move forward your goals – and they might suggest areas of study and work that will keep you interested long into the future. What do you expect to get out of it? I have always wanted to attend to one of the Women 's World Cup, this is something I haven 't been able to do because I haven 't gotten the chance but it 's definitely on my bucket list which I hope to accomplish someday. I find this very exciting and I expect it to be an unforgettable experience. Question 6 What accomplishment has made you most proud? Your answer might have nothing to do with a hard–won A or a trophy – it might be the time you stuck up for someone who needed your help. What you 're proud of can help you see what matters most to you. My biggest accomplishment was about 3 years ago, when I had the opportunity to visit ASU campus for 2 weeks on a scholarship for a nursing course. This was very important to me because it was a once in a lifetime experience where I met a lot of amazing and bright students who shared the same interest as me. Question 7 What 's your favorite class? Don 't limit yourself to the subject that comes easiest to you. Think about which classes make you lose track of time. Even though the American people have had recent success like in the 2002 World Cup and the 2009 Confederations Cup. Though extremely popular in European countries, soccer took a long time to gain momentum in the United States because Americans put more money and attention into other sports like baseball, football, and basketball. Soccer eventually became popular in the 1970s, but then lost popularity again when the National League went bankrupt. U.S soccer started when the English settlers came to populate America. The game was originally played across an entire town with two nets at either end. Players tackled each other to get the ball to one end of the town and in a ... It was not until 1913 that the U.S. applied for FIFA membership, but there were two main American leagues that wanted to join. FIFA said there couldn't be two different leagues and so the United States Football Association (USFA) was established on April 5, 1913, giving the U.S. a international representation in the soccer world. The US finally made it to the semi–finals of the World Cup in 1930, which increased the sport's popularity temporarily. They finished third out of 13 teams. But all of the Europeans teams were at a absents from the World cup."the European countries withdrew after an impassioned plea from the Latin Americans, who in 1930 would be celebrating a hundred years of independence. Uruguay were to build a new stadium in Montevideo and would pay all traveling expenses for the competing nations. However, face by a three–week boat trip each way, the Europeans were reluctant to participate, and two months before the competition not one European entry had been received. Meanwhile, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Peru, Chile, Mexico and Bolivia had all accepted, as well as the United States." After the 1930 World Cup the U.S hasn't been living up to that 1930 World Cup glory. In 1934 they were knocked out in the round of 16 and in 1950 didn't get past the group stage. They ... After the horrific events that occurred during the Apartheid in South Africa, Ginn Fourie and Letlapa Mphahlele established the Lyndi Fourie Foundation as a reconciliation technique that would peacefully unite South Africans. The foundation was established after the murder of Lyndi Fourie. Her death was orchestrated by Mphahlele's Azanian People's Liberation Army (APLA) as an act of retaliation in 1993. Fourie and Mphahlele first met during a trial with the Truth and Reconciliation Council (TRC) where the former was granted political amnesty. Sports: Another factor of substantial importance which plays an active role in nation branding is how the country portrays itself in various sports. Before we look in to the aspects of this, excerpts from the recent interview with Mr Simon Anholt, the brilliantly caustic, not conventions driven and outspoken nation branding (or as he prefers, 'policy advisor') expert, by Germany's Deutschland Magazine about the relationship between sports and nation branding and sportsmen and nation brands only weeks ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa is given below in brief. Yes indeed, but as I predicted, the effect didn't last very long. Enhancing a country's image is a relay race, not a sprint, and countries need to become obsessive about asking themselves "What do we do next?" Germany hasn't followed up on its World Cup success, so people are starting to revert to their previous beliefs about the country. This always happens and it can only be prevented by projecting a constant, unbroken stream of dramatic evidence that the country deserves the reputation it desires. Even in countries where Germany did not previously enjoy a great reputation, the country's image was massively enhanced after what has gone down in the history books as "Germany's summer fairytale". Does this mean that some elements of the "brand essence" are in fact very volatile, in other words, nice weather, high spirits, exciting matches is all it takes to change an image? Is it really that simple? No, they really aren't volatile at all: quite the contrary. National image is more like a fixed asset than a liquid capital, and normally can't be changed at all. Nothing could be more difficult than changing any of these attributes. Just ten months after signing professionally, the teenager was called up to the Brazil national team. After the World Cup in 1962, wealthy European clubs offered massive fees to sign the young player, but the government of Brazil declared Pelé an "official national treasure" to prevent him from being transferred out of the country.[13] On November 19, 1969, Pelé scored his 1000th goal in all competitions. This was a highly anticipated moment in Brazil.[6] The goal, called popularly O Milésimo (The Thousandth), occurred in a match against Vasco da Gama, when Pelé scored a penalty kick, at the Maracanã Stadium.[6] Pelé states that his most beautiful goal was scored at Rua Javari stadium on a Campeonato Paulista match against São Paulo rivals Juventus on August 2, 1959. As there is no video footage of this match, Pelé asked that a computer animation be made of this specific goal.[6] In March 1961, Pelé scored the gol de placa (goal worthy of a plaque), a goal against Fluminense at the Maracanã which was regarded as so spectacular that a plaque was commissioned with a dedication to the most beautiful goal in the history of the Maracanã.[14] In ... The main reason that I decided to play soccer for me is because my friend's Jazmin and Cassie how are girls and Evan how is a boy were all able to play soccer together. We could all be on the same team together because middle school is coed soccer. That comes to reason soccer is the main sport I think of as a coed sport. But as I found out that is only true until students are out of middle school. Then the coed is no more. In high school and on to being professional, there are a few clubs that may have coed if there's not enough players for each gender to be none coed. Some thing that you may not of known is that one of the first coed sports is soccer because there was not enough females to make there own team. (Snow) There are quite a few reasons that soccer is not a fully a coed sport anymore. One of thoughts reasons is that until a child goes into puberty both girls and boys are built generally the same. Then after puberty guys will generally become stronger, easier then girls physically can. Also there are fewer girl athletes that have the speed to be able to keep up with the boy athletes in soccer. I believe that high is also a problem because it seems to be easier for a guy to accidentally nock over a girl wen running then a girl nocking over a guy. The reason for this is because guys are broader then girls normally and weigh more also. Which could cose bad injure like when I resale some of my guy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Majority of people an any given nation tend to enjoy and support sporting events, irrespective of the sport itself. As a result, sport acts as a common ground between people of different socioeconomic, religious, racial and other backgrounds. This common ground forces people of different backgrounds to interact and to treat each other with sportsmanship and equality. Therefore, sport both lowers and raises every single type of person to the same level, which allows for them to integrate with each other in positive ways and unify them as equals. For example, when South Africa scored their first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Doping in sports occurs for two reasons. The first being the physical difficulty and requirement of the sport. The second being the etiquette and attitude in the sport. Take cycling and bodybuilding for example. The training and records each year are increasing, and athletes believe the only way for them to compete with these records is to dope because it is almost physically impossible to lift 300 kg or cycle for 21 days without a break in the times people are getting today. On the other hand, no one in table tennis dopes, because they are not physically challenged to extreme degrees. Therefore, the physical requirements and stress that a sport puts on athletes can cause them to result to doping. Another reason some sports are more prone to doping is based on the sport itself. Take golf for example. Golfers or inherently and stereotypically sophisticated, moral, upstanding and classy, which is why they do not dope. They simply do not see cheating as part of the game and wish to take no part in such obscenities. This ban was set into place around the year of 1365. This ban was introduced to Scotland a few decades later. Around the year of 1424, Scotland 's King James I decided that no man will be allowed to play football ("football" is how many foreign countries have named soccer). For centuries, the activity of the sport seemed to become lost, but there was a resurgence of the sport around the year of 1815, This is where many of the modern rules that are set in place today came into focus. A couple of college universities brought forth a system of rules for the sport which were known as the Cambridge Rules, the original official set of rules for the game. The game had been created with two versions, one in which later became known as rugby, while the other kept the traditional soccer style that many have come to love and enjoy. It includes a bigger picture that covers many different social, political and economic aspects of the game. In countries where the sport is not that relevant, people refer to it as soccer. In others where the sport is very popular and has been around for a long time, it is referred to as football. When it comes to the sport, there are two very different ideas relevant to how people view it. In said countries where soccer is the national sport, the game is viewed as if it can achieve anything; from having just fun with your friends to helping unite people from around the world. In other countries where the sport is not as much popular, the game is seen as boring and is looked down on. Will America succeed in soccer? How? In my opinion, America will be one of the biggest powers in soccer, with a good league – MLS –and with a good national team. My goal in this paper is to give you reasons that the United States have already had soccer in their list of main sports in the country, maybe the fifth one, after baseball, football, basketball, and hockey. If we go to deeper in the meaning of soccer, what is the goal of the sport? Use your feet to put the ball inside the net. Why does football mean soccer in all over the world, but United States? If we look at other languages, in Spanish is fútbol, in Dutch is voetbal, and in Portuguese is futebol. Why do we call football or anything close to that in the whole world, but here football is the sport that we use the hands for the most part? Those are good questions to think about. If we go to history, people used to say that soccer and rugby were called football at first, but then they have split up because some rules came up. Nevertheless, in my opinion, they should have changed the American football name, but not soccer, because soccer is the sport played with the foot, not American football. Brazil : The Millennium Development Goals On the surface, Brazil does not appear as a country ravaged by poverty however, portions of it are; and its environmental stability is an enormous factor of this. In 2000 the United Nations concocted a plan to assist countries like Brazil; thus the Millennium Development Goals emerged. In essence, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs for short) are a set of targets set to challenge extreme poverty across the globe. As Brazil is not a 'traditional' country in the subject of poverty so a specific target had to be included for it to fit in with the MDGs. Target 9 includes two factors: the amount of land covered by forest and the protection of biodiversity, which pinpoint Brazil as a country in need. In Brazil, tourism and the need for lumber are dwindling both the biodiversity of the country, as well as cutting down on the area of land covered by forest. Therefore, Brazil's ecology and demand for resources cause it to be looked at as a country in need, despite its modernization being equivalent to the rest of the world. With this being said, Brazil's ecosystem has remained relatively unaffected by change in the last two decades. It will be challenging for Brazil to achieve the seventh Millennium Development Goal of ensuring environmental stability due its lack of a strong governmental structure, a dwindling economy, and the miniscule amount of groups assisting Brazil. The Fifa World Cup Event The FIFA World Cup, as one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world that comes around every four years, is often assumed by potential host countries as highly profitable. Current research, however, suggests that the economic growth experienced by these host nations due to the World Cup event is lower than the expectations they had. Specifically, a number of economists assert that no observable short–term economic growth exists within the tourism, retailing, accommodation, and employment sectors of each one of the host countries (Allmers& Maennig, 2009). As for the long– term impacts, some scholars insist that the World Cup cannot boost the four sectors listed above (Baumann, Robert, Bryan Engelhardt, and Victor A. Matheson 2012), while others argue that other beneficial factors, that do not affect the host countries in the short term, generate economic profits for host countries in the long term (Maennig, 2009). Some scholars even critique this claim, however, arguing that the new factors won't bring profits to host countries. In my opinion, the World Cup seems to give the allusion that it will benefit the economy right away in the short run, but this not necessarily true. On the other hand it is beneficial to the host countries and the international economy in the long run, assuming that different factors are considered in the long–term analysis. Although players play for football clubs throughout the years, when the World Cup roles around most players return to their country of origin as a way to still represent their national pride. Over the years, soccer has seen more and more globalization. During my research I came across a couple of charts that explain it all very clearly. There are flags of national teams on the top of the chart and flags of football clubs on the bottom of the chart with lines drawn that connect the two. The lines represent what football club a country's players play when they don't play for their national team. These lines are connecting all kinds of combinations of players ... • 59. Popularity of Soccer Around the World Essay Popularity of Soccer Around the World I am going to talk about the most popular sport in the world: football. Now, you may be having visions of huge quarterbacks, dressed up in their padding and helmets, parading down the field during the Super Bowl. But the other kind of football, the football the rest of the world knows, has no padding or helmets. This other football is known in America as soccer. In more than 175 countries across the globe, football, or soccer, rates as the number 1 national sport. Football dates back as far as thousands of years ago. There are records that show that ancient civilizations of Greece, Egypt, and China (among others) played an age–old form of football with a stuffed leather ball. Early games in Old ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the present there are more than 2 million players registered with official football organizations, and about 275,000 clubs play in official leagues and tournaments. The World Cup, held every four years, is the highlight of football tournaments. Held by FIFA (of course), it lasts 1 month, and on this month, the world's eyes are on the World Cup. In 1994, over 1 billion people watched the World Cup, and the events leading up to it. The fans are everything to football. The pride of their city or country equals the pride of their football team. A football game is not about sitting and quietly watching the game while eating hotdogs and peanuts... it is a wild fiasco! The fans dress up in costumes and their team colors, they paint their faces and bodies and sing songs in unison about their team. The stadiums are gigantic and chaotic. The Maracana Stadium in Brazil is usually filled up to it's capacity with 220,000 screaming fans. Once, many Brazilian fans fainted in the stands when they lost to Uruguay. The popularity of this sport also has it's downsides. It has even been deadly. For instance, in 1969 the qualifying games between El Salvador and Honduras caused a war between the 2 countries. There had been conflict between the countries, but things boiled over when they clashed on the playing field, sparking a full–scale war that lasted 2 weeks. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to the Economic Freedom Index of 2017, the Cameroonian economy is partly driven by the export of minerals such as oils and natural gas and the surplus from the agricultural sector such as those from cocoa beans (Vreyer & Roubaud, 2013). Even though the export business is not well developed due to the weak institutions and political situation, a greater part of the economy is still dependent on exports. The export sector, therefore, comprises a mix of commodities. The major trading partner of Cameroon is China with an estimated export valued at $679 million and import estimated at $1.37 billion (Aguir, 2014). The country also trades with other economies such as India, Netherlands, USA, Nigeria, and France. The exports are mainly the minerals and raw materials while they receive manufactured goods. Reproductive health services have and currently do struggle against obstacles including religious beliefs, governmental policies, educational shortcomings, and governmental financial circumstances. With the increase in reproductive health medicine and technology, an increase for the global standard of living, and women's rights movements worldwide, global access to reproductive health services is becoming more and more of a priority. Topics such as abortion and form of contraception are highly debated. "Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim–majority nation, with almost 86.1% of Indonesians declared Muslim according to the 2000 census. 8.7% of the population is Christian, 3% are Hindu, and 1.8% Buddhist or other"("Demographics ... Indonesia's proposition to achieve these goals and to provide global access to reproductive health services is quite simple. The committee should make a resolution which requires governments to create and fund a board which is given the task to provide the citizens of the country (ranging from youths to young adults to adults to the elderly) with adequate education in relation to sexual intercourse and the consequences of intercourse and all other sex related issues. The board would also provide various contraceptives for either free (funds permitting) or as discounted as possible. The board would have to provide various contraceptives in order to meet the standards of the individual receiving the contraception's religious beliefs. This would help significantly reduce sexual related problems seen in today's world, such as abortion, STDs, and unwanted pregnancy. Topic #2 A. It is easy for large countries with powerful governments to abuse their rights to eminent domain when given the task of hosting a mega–event such as the Olympic Games or FIFA World Cup. In the past countries have abused this right and found ways around the current international laws that protect the property rights of the people of the nation. Essay on The Main Goal of the FIFA World Cup: Brazil 2014 Providing financial stability for a country is a large task, specifically for one like Brazil who has a vast of its people living in poverty. Brazilian government officials believe the games can bring change and growth. Many degree and believe it take more than one month to change a lifetime of errors. Citizens have not only been living in poverty for their lifetime, many families have known the Favelas as home for decades. For change to be effective it needs to begin with the top(upper class and government), and it will trickle down to and reach the lower class natives. Sponsorship can be a blessing in disguise, if used smartly. If main corporations are willing to aid all groups in need, success can and will be achieved. For the 2014 ... Many will oppose my idea, with the argument what happens to the people whom don't want to be helped, what about the people who will abuse the help, or the ones who don't deserve it and belong in jail. That is the catch to my solution, the funding made from the events will go into housing projects (sponsored by the companies). Eliminate the Favelas and the bad reputation that comes with them. Build new homes like we have here in the United States. Low Income Housing is an income based project which allows you to have a decent apartment at a lower housing rate. Many Americans have benefitted from these housing developments, however they are required to maintain a certain income to remain a resident. Another program the government can implement (with the aid of sponsors) is the American Red Cross WIC (Women, Infant, and Children) Program. This is a state funded program that can be easily be copied to aid lower income citizens. Provide classes and meal assistance to families to teach healthy eating and a healthy life. This can reduce the health cost of the country and maybe even pave a way for a new healthcare system. Brazil may not have all the monitory support that we have in the US, but with the aid of sponsors and a percentage of profit made from the mega events coming these can be a new beginning. Attracting approximately one million foreign tourists in just one month (Loretta, 2014) it was without a doubt the major global sporting event of the year. Discussions about holding such an event in yet another developing country where controversial from the start and with regard to the 2016 Olympic Games also held in Brazil, they still are. Therefore, I firstly provide three positive impacts on Brazil, of economic, social and environmental nature. This is followed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can be in a positive way e.g. gaining of the knowledge but also in a negative way, such as staged authenticity. Furthermore, they can have positive and negative environmental impacts, namely an improvement of infrastructure or littering. Lastly, there can be economical impacts (Page & Connell, 2009). Although these can prove negative in the long term, most economical impacts are positive because the tourists come and spend money at a destination. If we take a look at the perspective of Brazilian tourism with regard to events such as the World Cup 2014, we can conclude that a lot of its success depends on the Olympic Games of 2016. Ainsworth– Wells (2013) describes the preparation of Rio for the Olympic Games as rather positive: "If I could draw a graph depicting Rio de Janeiro's trajectory and status against these factors as it prepares to host the 2016 Olympics it would currently be somewhere in the middle, but heading in one direction – upwards" (Ainswort–Wells, 2013). Positive developments, such as the fact that the accommodation sector is largely dominated by Brazilian companies or the renovation of port areas through public–private partnerships, can be recognized. Yet one of the biggest concerns is the traffic. As there will not be enough time anymore to work on the underground metro system, the city of Rio aims at revolutionizing the bus system. Taking into account the fact that during the World Cup 2014 the vast majority perceived their visit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
