The ‘Male Gaze’ is a theory of dealing with
how an audience views the people
presented. The ‘Male Gaze’ occurs when the
audience put into perspective the
heterosexual man. The ‘Male Gaze’ denies
women human identity.

Feminists believe the ‘gaze’ is used in 3 ways;

4. How men look at women
Men focus on the sexual features of women
such as the legs, hips and lips.
They see women as sexual objects rather than
an identity.

5. Women look at other women to shape their
identity’s. By doing this they take elements that
they like to adapt to their own identity to make
themselves a better person to fit into society.

women in the media. They compare themselves
to un realistic role models which consequences
in low self of steam. When women look at other
