2. Message about the Youth
S Pretty in pink- the message about the youth is that there is peer
pressure between friends and it also shows that the children have
more responsibilities for example; they all drive. Also the teenagers all
work and have jobs and are caring in a way e.g.; when they look after
their parents and persuade them to get a job.
S The breakfast club- the message about this film is that there are
different social groups within the teenagers and again there is a lot of
peer pressure this is shown where the teenagers all start to smoke
together.
S Clockwork Orange- The message about the youth in this film is that
they are rebellious and they are very violent and are in gangs. They
commit crimes such as murder, vandalism and theft.
S Super 8- The message about this film is that youth just want to be able
to be independent and want support from their parents.

This film is mainly about class differences coming together as the girl Molly
Ringwald was poor and the boy was rich. Throughout the film there were a lot of
references to clothing and dress of the poor and the rich. The film also showed
how the rich would stay together in their own groups. It also brings up issues
about how the youth have to be responsible and have jobs and drive their own
cars. This film also breaks the stereotype that all youth are rebellious and anti-
social.

by a train station however whilst filming they discover aliens and a train crash. They set out to
discover why the aliens are there. They soon discover that they eat on human flesh. One of

very independent.
7. My personal reaction
S Clockwork orange- My personal view is that this film is quite
disturbing as it goes to the extreme of violence and crime. I also
think that it is a very strong film that shows everything as it is
without leaving out any details. I didn't’t enjoy it because it had
explicit images that were very disturbing.
S Pretty in Pink- I thought that this film was good and it was quite
interesting to see how the youth were more independent and it
also showed the youth as being more caring for their parents.
8. My personal Reaction
S The Breakfast Club- I thought that this film was very unique as it
was set in a detention throughout the whole film and it made it
different from all the other films that you watch. I also thought that
it showed the youth as being very rude and anti- social however
the film also showed that their home lives were influential to how
they are now.
S Super 8- I thought that this film was quite good however it was not
realistic as there were aliens in the film so the audience cant really
relate to it.
