JOHN STAMOS
Given name: John Phillip Stamos
Age: Fifty-two going on thirty
New TV Twist: In Grandfathered, Stamos plays an aging (but attractive)
playboy who discovers that, thanks to a long-forgotten relationship, he
has a son — and a granddaughter.
Standout Feature: That hair! The mullet he wore as Jesse Katsopolis in
Full House was cool back in the day, and it’s still inspiring GIFs and rock
bands (including one named Uncle Jesse’s Hair). But he’s not such a fan: “I
had a Cadillac on my head. I mean, I had fins,” he’s said. “And my bad hair
keeps coming up like a rotten taco in syndication.” He’ll have a chance for a
genuine ’do-over when Fuller House premieres on Netflix next year.
Group: The Beach Boys — Stamos performed and recorded as a drummer
with the band in the ‘90s, and they still occasion-
ally make beautiful music together.
High-Profile Romance: Met actress Rebecca
Romijn at a 1994 Victoria’s Secret fashion
show, where she was modeling. They married
in 1998 and divorced in 2005.
Cause for Pause: Stamos is the national spokes-
person for Project Cuddle, a nonprofit that edu-
cates young mothers about safe and legal
alternatives to abandoning their newborns.
Pitch Perfect: A brilliant, now-retired
campaign for Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt,
which included a sexy Super Bowl ad with the
tagline “Fuel Your Pleasure.” The pleasure
was ours!
What-was-I-thinking? Moment: Wearing
a gold lamé button-down at a Tiger Beat
photo shoot back in the day.
Rebound Role: Paramedic-turned-intern
Tony Gates on ER. While his performance didn’t
earn him any nominations, Stamos did receive a
Daytime Emmy nom in 1983 for playing Blackie
on General Hospital (his first paid acting gig).

SUPER GsThey’re handsome. They’re TV vets. And this fall, John Stamos and Rob Lowe both have new Fox series — airing back-to-
back on Tuesdays — that begin with the letter G (Grandfathered and The Grinder, respectively). Coincidence? Maybe not.
Turns out the two have quite a bit in common.
ROB LOWE
Given Name: Robert Hepler Lowe
Age: Fifty-one going on thirty
New TV Twist: In The Grinder, Lowe plays the beloved star of a long-
running legal drama. When his show is dropped, he moves home to Boise,
Idaho, where his brother is set to take over the family law firm.
Standout Feature: Those eyes! But Lowe doesn’t take them for
granted. In fact, he recently launched a skincare line, Profile4Men, that
includes an eye rescue serum. “The first place that anyone looks less
than their best is their eyes, whether it’s lack of sleep, allergies, dark
circles or puffiness,” he has said. “That’s job one: get that area under
control.”
Group: The Brat Pack, who made beautiful movies together,
including The Outsiders and St. Elmo’s Fire in
the ‘80s.
High-Profile Romance: Briefly dated Princess
Stéphanie of Monaco, but ultimately married
makeup artist Sheryl Berkoff in 1991, with whom he
has two sons.
Cause for Paws: Lowe has volunteered for
animal charities, including One Dog Rescue,
for which he coordinated adoption
events.

What-was-I-thinking? Moment: Sing-
ing a duet of “Proud Mary” with Snow
White at the 1989 Oscars.
Rebound Role: Sam Seaborn, deputy
White House communications direc-
tor in The West Wing, for which he
received both Emmy and Golden
Globe nominations.
