3. • The Model: “Magnus Set” Thermal Packer is a single-string,
double-grip retrievable style packer designed especially for
geothermal, steam flood or other severe temperature wells,
holds pressure differentials securely from both above and
below the packer.
• Magnus Set Thermal Packer may be set using either tension or
compression force and, once set, may be left in either mode,
or in neutral, without any danger of the packer releasing
accidentally.
• Magnus Set Thermal Packer has closed style J-Slot, located on
the exterior of the packer body. This feature helps to prevent
the setting and releasing problems which are normally
associated with the severe operating conditions encountered
in steam flood and geothermal production wells.

5. • The thermal packer is designed to be run and set using a hydraulic
setting tool engineered for producing high setting forces and handling
high axial loads.
• Surface setting pressures are adjustable by manipulating the initial
setup tool and set by drooping a ball or using a plug-in system, then
pressuring up on the workstring.
• Once the thermal element is packed off, the setting tool hydraulically
disconnects from the liner packer without string manipulation and is
retrieved to surface.
• The thermal liner hanger packer can be retrieved if required by using
standard retrieval equipment.
