        Is a process that informs motivates that helps person to adapts, and comducts
professional training amd research to the same end

Health Educatipn
        Any combination of learning opportunities designed to facilitate voluntary adaptations
of behavior that are conductive to health

        Essential component in the management

Health Promotion
        Refers to actions to alter the living envitonment of persons to imrpove their health,
despite individual actions such as community water fluoridation or enabking preventive
procedures

Basic Concepts of DHE

         The goal of dhe is preventioin and control of dental disease
         COGNITIVE - behavior is learned by individuals not by person to person
knowledge-attitude-behavior change
         BEHAVIORAL LEARNING MODEL - Changing the learners behavior through prescribed
activities that present the appropriate skills, behavior and knowldedge with the hope thatthe
desired attitudes will follow. Doing it simultaeneously
         SELF CARE MOTIVATION MODEL - offered by Horrowitz, whole-body approach,
         CONTEMPORARY COMMUNITY HEALTH MODEL aka Public Health Model, takes into
account the cultural, economic and other environmemtal factors that influences health, like in
Ifugao, we cannot change right away their cultural beliefs. Most current approach.

       DISCUSSION METHOD - group activity involving the teacher and stident
       QUESTIONNING METHOD - more of a discussion and there will be questions being
asked
       DEVELOPMENTAL METHOD - LETS FIND OUT METHOD, problem solving method.
