• Aromatherapy - the use of scents to heal the patient.
• Message Therapist (LMT) – An educated professional
that has finish a 6 month or greater accredited program
and has taken a state exam to perform message
techniques.
• Bodywork – This refers to any work on the body such
as message, acupressure, and any art that calms the
mind.
• Essence oils – Oil that are infused with plant based
medicines.

• This is the most common
massage used in the Untied

• This art uses long strokes,
kneading in a circular
motion.
• Caution may cause pain or
spasms in the extremity that
is being worked on

7. Aromatherapy Message
• This is a basic Swedish
massage but with added
essence oils to promote
health.
• The essence oil may be
oils that promote
relaxion. Essence oils
are herbal medications
• Use caution with this
form of massage
because the essence oil
may cause drowsiness.

8. Hot Stone Therapy
• This form of therapy applies
heated stones that relaxes
the muscles.
• The therapist applies light
pressure and massages in
circular motion
• Caution redness and
irritation may occurs in the
area. Patients that are on
aspirin or anticoagulant
therapy may have bruising.

9. Deep Tissue Massage
• This massage targets
deep muscle tissue
below the fascia to
promote more blood
circulation.
• The therapist performs
slow strokes to the
extremity.
• Caution there may be
pain after the session
due to excessive
message.

10. Shiatsu Message
• This is a form of
Japanese body work
with finger pressure.
• The therapist hold
pressure with their finger
for 2-8 seconds firmly
• Caution If you have any
injuries to the bones or
muscle-skeletal talk to
your therapist about their
skillful techniques.

11. Thai Massage
• This massage uses point
pressure just like shiatsu
massage. This massage
promotes flexibility,
range of motion, and
blood circulation.
• Caution sports injuries
and past surgeries on
the extremity it is not
recommended for
shiatsu massage.

12. Reflexology
• This massage is for the
foot. It promotes good
organ function by the
nerve endings of the
foot.
• Caution This might
increase pain or
sensitivity in the feet and
eye lids. This technique
should be done by a
licensed reflexologist to
prevent injury.

13. Amma Message
• This is a art from Japan
that uses the
practitioners knees,
fingers, thumbs on the
acupuncture points of
the body. Promotes
health
• The patient is seat in a
massage chair
• Caution This may
produce pain in the
localize area on work.

14. Shiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy
• This is a form of
message therapy that
the therapist is standing
on the patients back.
The therapist is using
deep compressions to
relieve back pain.
• Caution if you have
back injuries, slip disk,
curvatures of the spine,
or any deformities. This
may not be the therapy
for you . Contact your
therapist.

15. Balinese Massage
• This is a swedish
massage but with a
twist.
• This massage uses
coconut oil with other
spices to enhance blood
circulation, skin
detoxifier, and relaxation
of the muscles fibers.
• Caution there is no
major complications but
light pain in the area
after the massage.

16. Connective Tissue Massage
• This massage uses
pressing and pulling like
techniques to promote
healthy tissue for
healing.
• This message repairs
the connective tissue to
retract and not sag and
reduce wrinkles.
• Caution will produce
bruises and marks on
the skin but will go away
in weeks

17. Lymph Drainage Therapy
• This massage manually
drains the toxins from
your body to the lymph
system to be discard
outside the body.
• This massage will
promote healing of the
immune system,
promote blood
circulation, and healthy
skin.
• Caution this massage
may cause light pain and
fatigue
