Once care provider is logged into the repository, the digital
certificate combined with the digital certificate from the
patient’s Medical ID Card grant access to the patient’s electronic
medical record.

Once access to the medical record access is granted, the
access event (Date, time, and name of the accessing care
provider) is logged and recorded for auditing purposes.
Upon the conclusion of the visit, the care provider is
provided an opportunity to enter a journal entry which
describes the provided treatment.
The patient may obtain a copy of the treatment history
and fax it to the DSA/M3 data center.
The received copies of medical treatment summaries will
be appended to the patient’s on-line medical record.
