A Meeting of the Minds
APS student affiliates receive a substantial discount on registration rates for the APS
Annual Convention. The convention is a great opportunity to network, present your
research, and meet peers and distinguished researchers.

Featuring Mahzarin R. Banaji in the Fred Kali Keynote Address and many other
distinguished scientists. The Call for Submissions has closed. Members-only earlybird registration rates close March 31, 2014.
APSSC hosted student-oriented programming at convention:
• ‘The Naked Truth’ panels- a series of symposia designed to provide
students with information regarding career and academic advice in
psychological science.
• Research awards symposia- student winners are recognized and
present their award-winning research.
• “Champions of Psychological Science”- students meet and interact
with some of the world’s leading psychological scientists.

only enter one APSSC competition
each year.
Share your Ideas
• The Undergraduate Update- a
biannual online publication for
undergraduate student affiliates; past
topics include GRE test taking strategies
and how to get into a research lab.
• Student Notebook- a monthly Observer column
by student affiliates; past topics range from
handling issues facing graduate students
to descriptions of authors’ unique research
experiences.
Get Involved
• Campus Representatives- Serve as
the official “face” of the APSSC at your
institution and be part of a network of
liaisons dedicated to representing APS and
the APSSC.
• Mentorship- This program pairs each
interested undergraduate with a graduate
student who serves as a peer mentor.
• Become a Reviewer- Undergraduate and
graduate student affiliates are eligible to
be reviewers for APSSC award competitions.
• APSSC Student Social- mix and mingle with your peers.
