1. TWO WONDERFUL BOOKS FOR MY STUDENTS IN TOURISM (VOCATIONAL
TRAINING)
The Secret Keeper is my favourite Kate Morton's novel . There are- as
usual- family secrets, switching time between generations to reveal those secrets
gradually, and unexpected twists.
What is different about this novel is that it is more nostalgic than gothic in tone.
It has a classic and elegant style that makes you feel the magic touch of a beautiful
story. A famous actress Laurel Nicholson witnessed her mother kill a stranger and
investigates her mother's past life as she is dying.
Set in London & rural England the story moves between 1971 and 1941.
The 'seize the day' (carpe diem) spirit of the Blitz in World War II in London, makes the
reader feel the hopes and losses of each character in each generation.
A MOVING STORY THAT WILL TOUCH YOUR HEART FOR MY 2ºBACHILLERATO
STUDENTS
Bruno is a normal 9 year old boy who lives in Berlin with his parents and
his sister, Gretel. Bruno likes his home, but he soon finds out he will be leaving soon.
Bruno quickly decides he doesn’t like his new home. There are no other boys on the
street to play with, actually no children at all! Until he decides to look around and finds
the fence. There he finds Shmuel, the boy in the striped pyjamas. A beautiful and
moving story of friendship even in the most tragic circumstances and with the naïve
look of childhood.
