SeSTA (Seven Sisters Development Assistance )
is a non- profit organization originated from
PRADAN and was established in 2011 in
Assam, by a group of young professionals.
The name SeSTA pronounced as 'Chesta'
means 'Effort' in Assamese.
SeSTA mainly Focus on “Community
Mobilization and Women Empowerment”
along with Livelihood Promotion.

6. Planning Before executing
1. Area of cultivation- How much Bigha/Acre/Ha.
2. Materials required for Nursery bed preparation-
Seeds (1.25kg/Bigha)
Ash ½ bag
Dry cow dung mixed with fine soil ½ bag
Banana leafs(40 numbers) or paddy straw (Half
trailer).
7. Process to be follow for SRI
1. Seed selection and treatments-
Materials required- 1.5kg paddy seeds, 1packet salt,
medium size potato1, cow urine one cup, card 5
spoon, Trico derma 10 gram.
2. Keep the selected seeds for 24 hour in water,
remove it and treat the seeds with cow urine, card
and Trico derma. Keep it for 24-48 hour to germinate
the seeds
3. Prepare the nursery bed of size 20ft long and 4ft
wide and wait it for 8-14 days for transplanting in
main field. For summer season maximum 18 days.
