Task/Exercise 2:
In 600 words or less:
Explain which country is the best country for starting/expanding
10. your business? Why have you chosen this country out of the
three countries that you compared?
Task/Exercise 2:
To start a business, it is better to invest in Canada than in
Australia. Canada is the best for starting and also expanding my
business. I have chosen Canada out of the two countries which I
compared based on many facts. Most evidences and references
show that Canada is better. For example, in the field of Global
Innovation Index, Canada ranks the 17th position while
Australia is the 22nd position. This means that Canada gives
more interest to innovation. This is very necessary for
innovation in my business. Global Competitiveness Ranking
also show that Canada is 79.59 points while Australia is 78.9.
This means that Canada is more competitive than Australia.
Corruption Perceptions Index also shows that Canada is 77
points but Australia is 76. This means that Canada has less
corruption than Australia. Corruption is very harmful to
business and it increases its costs. Corruption means that there
are bribes paid to the executives in the corrupt countries to help
progress in the business procedures and documents. The 3rd
world countries have much corruption so any business does not
progress there. Information & Technology Networked Readiness
Ranking in Australia is 5.5 but in Canada is 5.6 and this has a
reference that Canada has better readiness to the information
and technology networks.
GDP per capita in $US per annum in Canada shows 1.3% per
annum while for Australia, it shows 1.2% per annum. The GDP
per capita is the measurement economic output of any country
which is accounting for people number. It is the result of the
gross domestic product divided by the total population. This
means that the Canadian have better income than the
Australians. The GDP per capita represents the country's
standard of living measurement. Inflation rate % in Canada is
1.6% but in Australia, it is 1.8%. Inflation rate means the power
of purchase of the money. If the Inflation rate is high, this
means that the money cannot buy many products. The higher
11. inflation rate, the less power of purchase the money is. This
means that the Canadian can buy more products than the
Australians. Interest rate is also an important measurement
where it refers to the rates of banks. When the interest rates are
high, this means less ability to invest. Investors need money to
invest so if interest rates are high, this means they are less able
to invest and take loans from banks. The interest rates in
Canada are 1.7% while in Australia 1.8%. This means that
Canada banks give loans at less interest rates. Big Mac Index is
also important and it refers to the price of costs of hamburger
sold at McDonald's. It gives a reference about the exchange
rates in the country. Here, in Canada, Big Mac is 4.8 but in
Australia is 4.9. The Annual GDP Growth Rate in Canada is
59.100.311 USD but for Australia is 58.212.211.
Furthermore, Tax rate ranking in Australia is 20 but in Canada
is 19. Doing business in Australia (26) is worse than in Canada
(23).The higher degree means less easiness in doing business.
Procedures/days to opening a business in Australia (30) are
longer than in Canada (20).
Social factors also are favourable for Canada where adult
literacy rate in Canada is 98.0% but in Australia 99.0%. High
percentage of literacy means ability to learn and to acquire
knowledge and experience. School life expectancy in Canada is
82.49 but in Australia is 83.6. This mean that health in Canada
is better than in Australia. The population below the poverty
line also shows that Canada is 0.5% but for Australia, it is
13.2% and this means that poverty in Australia is more than in
Canada.

select a contemporary leader (one you know personally or a
public figure) and write a 2-3 page paper (12-font, double
spaced, 1 inch margins all the way around, using APA style) on
how this person exemplifies Kouzes and Posner’s Five Practices
of Exemplary Leadership. You should provide specific examples
to support your thoughts.
Bottom line: use Kouzes and Posner’s Five Practices of
Exemplary Leadership research to guide your writing of a 2-3
page paper. Do not over think this assignment. Keep it simple.
Follow the model. PROVIDE EXAMPLES to support your
observations. Analyze the concepts.
Bottom, bottom line. Give me back regurgitated theory and you
will get a D grade (that is undergrad level of work). Give me
theory (refer to the texts or external scholarly research), your
observation (what does the leader do), real world examples of
what the leader did/does to support the theory, and your
interpretation (is he/she successful/unsuccessful – why or why
not) wrapped in a paper that is well written (solid structure:
intro, body, conclusion; paragraphs and sentences; NO
SPELLING ERRORS).
You can do this!
