Surname1 Student: Professor: Cortney Basham Course: IDST Date: November 14 How the Phenomenon is Complex and requires IDST More and more people continue to believe that the world will come to an end when the earth will no longer be habitable for animal life. The phenomenon regarding the end of the world is complex as there are no specific models that can fully explain how this will happen. It is complex as different people have varying views regarding how animal life will come to be wiped out. For instance, there are those that base their beliefs on drastic changes such as unprecedented rise in global temperatures that will make the earth unable to support animal life. It can be seen that the phenomenon requires IDST as one cannot fully comprehend and explain it without consulting other disciplines. How the phenomenon constitutes an appropriate choice for the course As earlier highlighted, the phenomenon is complex as no one can fully explain how the world will come to vanish. It is appropriate for the course as it allows one to delve deeper into various views and scientific constructs relating to the end of the world. Doing so will require one to consult with other disciplines. Two or Three Specific Disciplines that will be employed in research and rationale Geology, climate change, pollution, and global warming will be considered in explaining the phenomena and make a determination whether there is a correlation between them. For instance, rise in global temperatures lead to rise in water levels meaning that in a few hundred years, some coastal cities may be wiped out (Tilman and Lehman 5437). Essentially, various human-induced developments such as pollution and global warming have been projected to have impacts that may make the earth no longer habitable for humans.
