2. Wolverhampton Amateur Boxing Club
• To be used within the trailer showing the main character training at the club before turning onto his path
of corruption and vengeance. During this scene the lighting will be quite bold and bright, showing an array
of different colours. Emotions displayed by the actors here will be positive and showing the innocent side
of the main character before his brother is killed. This is also to portray the side of fighting that is legal and
‘pure’ in contrast to the concept of fight clubs which are illegal and often have an air of corruption
surrounding them in relation to drugs, gambling and unregulated combat.
3. A desolate car park or basement of
some form
• To be used within the scenes for the fight club, now as it is a tournament i will require it to be an open
space however needs to look relatively run down and secluded in order to set the scene well. During the
fight club scenes the colours will be dull and very dark. This will be to place emphasis on the turning point
of the main characters life and personality. Contrasting to previous scenes he will be seen to be holding a
focused, un-emotional look. The colours will be dark to emphasise the life of crime and corruption he has
entered into just to avenge his older brother. The urban surrounding will also be effective as a
stereotypical location for illegal happenings.
4. An alleyway or in a tunnel
• This location is perfect for the clip in which the older brother is attacked, it is in a closed off/ secluded
area that is hidden from spectators, a good place for an attack to be committed. Will show the Brother
being cornered off and beaten onto the ground, I feel i will most likely have this scene edited to be
displayed in grey scale. Just to provide dramatic effect to the scene and also to devoid it of colour
altogether as the emphasis of the scene is on the act and how brutally dark and twisted it is in itself. If
possible I would however like to display a grey scaled scene in which the only colour that can be seen is
the red of the blood. The colour red naturally shocks the average person as it’s fine-tuned within our mind
to feel a level of distress at the sight of the colour red in relation to blood. This would drastically help to
improve the dramatic effect of the scene.
5. In the garden of the main character
• Scenes in which he is training within his garden after he quit and left the boxing club. Using equipment
such as skipping rope, punch bag etc. No other characters to be within this scene and preferably to be
filmed at night with a spot light behind the character, this is to emphasise that he has lost the family aura
surrounding the boxing club and is now alone in the illegal world of the fight club.
6. Streets/ Roadside
• Small clip just simply to show the main character running on the urban streets, a very stereotypical clip
often used in most boxing films. This is due to the vast population of boxers are generally from lower class/
working class backgrounds and often live in urban areas. Also dates back to when boxing was a mobster –
run sport. It is just an iconic clip for all boxing movies.
