Talking Points to Success
I think the first key to success is to determine the company's goals, expectations, and culture. I can
achieve a target as long as I can see it. Setting milestones to measure my success as well as adjusting my
approach along the way of reaching my expected goals is an area where I thrive. I constantly work to
improve both professionally and personally as I believe excellence is not a destination, it is a habit.
My second course of action is to determine where we are now. Are we currently meeting our goals? If
so, how can we maximize on our success? If not, how far away are we from reaching our goals? In order
to improve, we have to know exactly where we are then implement a strategy to consistently enhance
our current position. I believe a huge part of this second step would be to recognize and duplicate
success, while replacing bad habits with great practices. Normally sales positions are the 10-20% of the
workforce accomplish the majority of the workload/success. I have found that modeling the most
successful supervisors, managers, and salespeople is one of the fastest ways to improving success.
My other area of focus is to establish effective relationship management and communications. It is
important to understand that this will produce the best and most creative results when deciding the
specific strategies to achieve the set goals.
I understand that we all have expectations... from the shipping clerk to the president of the company,
and everyone in between. My goal will be to exceed those expectations whenever and wherever
possible while working and serving the different departments of the organization. I believe that family,
stability, recognition, and respect rank highest in personal desires, and focusing on improving these
areas for my team can make a huge difference in meeting and reaching milestones and goals rapidly and
consistently.
Above all, I have to make sure that my team believes in the company and are always aware of their
personal reasons for joining the organization a choose. A team that remembers their reason for working
will be inspired, help support healthy company culture, and turn larger profits.
