Racism is a global issue
It is the belief that some ones race can justify
discrimination
In other words, racism acts as a justification for
non-equal treatment of members of a race
3. Portrayals of racism in Forrest
Gump
On June 11th 1963, Forrest Gump witnesses George
Wallace’s promise of segregation and the prevention
desegregation at the University of Alabama. It was called
Stand in the schoolhouse door. Wallace wouldn’t allow two
black people who wanted to register to University of Alabama
to enter the school. He made use that the African Americans
would go to poorly funded schools, which reinforced his poor
prejudice that black people were inferior.
Desegregation:
(according to www.dictionary.com) Segregation: elimination of
laws, customs and practices under which different races
,groups ect., are restricted to specific or separate public
facilities, neighborhoods ect.
