2. SOLAR ENERGY SOURCES
• Solar energy is a renewable energy, obtained from the use of electromagnetic
radiation from the Sun. The solar radiation that reaches the Earth has been used
by humans since ancient times, through different technologies that have
evolved.

3. ADVANTAGES OF SOLAR ENERGY
• Solar works in many climates. Many people believe that solar won't work
in colder climates. That's not true. Solar panels actually work more
efficiently in colder temperatures because excessive heat can reduce
output voltage.
• Solar energy has a very low impact on human health.
• Solar panels can produce huge amounts of energy for homes and
businesses.
• Solar energy doesn’t need fuel and it doesn’t produce waste or pollution.

4. DISADVANTAGES OF SOLAR ENERGY
• Solar energy doesn’t work at night.
• Is very expensive to build solar power stations.
• Solar cells cost a great deal compared to the amount of electricity they
will produce in their lifetime.
• Although solar energy can still be collected during cloudy and rainy days,
the efficiency of the solar system drops.
• Solar panels usually last about 20 years and then they are impossible to
recycle.

5. GEOTHERMAL ENERGY SOURCES
• Geothermal energy is a renewable energy that is obtained by taking
advantage of the heat from the interior of the Earth that is transmitted
through hot rock bodies or conduction and convection.

6. ADVANTAGES OF GEOTHERMAL ENERGY
• Geothermal energy doesn’t produce any pollution, and it doesn’t
contribute to the greenhouse effect.
• Renewable and sustainable Geothermal reservoirs come from natural
resources and are naturally replenished.
• Environmentally friendly. The carbon footprint of a geothermal power
plant is minimal.

7. DISADVANTAGES OF GEOTHERMAL ENERGY
• The big problem is that there are not many places where you can build a
geothermal power station. You need hot rocks of a suitable type, at a
depth where we can drill down to them. The type of rock above is also
important, it must be of a type that we can easily drill through.
• Geothermal energy has become infamous for causing earthquakes as
setting up of geothermal power plants can alter the land’s structure.
