SUBJECT: PrinterDoes Not Turn On or

OPERATIONAL GROUPS: All
PROBLE M
• The printerdoes not turn on
• ControlPanelTouch Screen isblank (dark)
• The green LED on the controlpanel isnot lit.Ifthe
green LED ison,then the issue isa differentone not
addressed inthisBulletin.
Thisproblem can be intermittent.
CAUSE
The 1.0 volt dc power supply on the Image Processor
board,FRU PN 960K72100 isnot able to turn on.
SOLUTION
Remove capacitorC 824 (indicated by yellow arrow) from
the Image Processor Board by cutting the leads with
diagonal cutters.Capacitor C 824 is shown in Figures 1
and 2. Figure 3 shows the IP board with the capacitor
removed.
Follow appropriateESD procedures to avoid damage to the
IPBoard.
Verify that the printer powers up successfully with a
couple of power on cycles spaced approximately 10
minutes apart.
