Introduction
Throughout the discussion of chapters in social psychology, the realization of integration between the learnt
concepts and daily life experiences begins to emerge. Therefore, the first journal assignment is designed to
enhance the awareness of social psychological concepts applicable to different contexts and settings in life
Objectives
The objectives of the first journal are as follows:
Gain an increased awareness and sharpened sensitivity to human behavior
Able to apply related social concepts in life
Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes are as follows:
Able to apply social psychological theories and concepts to the personal lives and that of others
Able to understand oneself better and the interactions with others.
Tasks
Students are required to:
1. Observe and capture visible social behavior displayed in various social settings – either through
drawing or photograph (only one is required)
2. The drawing or photograph must be pasted on an A4 size paper.
3. A write up of approximately 150 – 300 words pertaining to description of the social behavior and
related concepts is required (between one to three concepts)

The following requirement must be followed:
Cover page – TU logo, Name, ID Number, Course Code and Title
Font Type – Times New Roman
Font Size – 12
Spacing – Double
Pages – Maximum of two pages (excluding of cover page)

Introduction
Daily exposure to printed and electronic advertisements reflects elements of social psychology concepts
such as persuasion, stereotyping and prejudice. Thus, the second journal focuses on identifying the
mechanism of highlighted concepts as it is part and parcel of the current lifestyle
Objectives
The objectives of the first journal are as follows:
Gain an increased awareness and sharpened sensitivity to social elements such as persuasion,
stereotyping and prejudice.
Able to apply related social concepts through advertisement
Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes are as follows:
Able to apply social psychological theories and concepts to the surroundings that may affect invisibly
personal lives and that of others
Able to understand the current living context.
Tasks
Students are required to:
1. Choose a printed advertisement from magazines, newspaper and related printed materials
2. The advertisement must be pasted on an A4 size paper (if the size does not fit, the advertisement
can be folded)
3. A description of how the mechanism of persuasion or stereotype / prejudice reflected in the
advertisement must be written in 300 – 500 words
