Implementing a lime
and sand plaster
As part of this activity I developed the following skills: preparing the
walls, squaring up layout, making mortars, applying the preparatory layer
manually and with a spraying machine, applying the top coat, tidying up
working site.
I am familiar with
using:
Equipments : mixer, bucket for mortar, float, sponge, spraying machine, compressor, trowel
Materials : lime and sand mortar
What I can do:
- Read and understand instructions, use technical terms
- Understand security issues
- Understand the issues related to the insulation of a building
- Prepare my workstation (protect surrounding areas with tarpaulin, ...)
- Perform a task following directions and safety rules,
- Make lime and hemp mortars according to their specific uses: determine and check the
quantity of water, sand, lime, choose a rotation speed, test the quality of the mortar
depending on its use
- Apply the preparatory layer with the spraying machine
- Apply the preparatory layer manually
- Apply the top coat
- Smooth the top coat
- Check work with supervisor compared to what was requested
